Hi Luya Tshimbalanga (and others), On Friday 28 April 2006 20:14, Luya Tshimbalanga wrote: > Greetings, > > I attempted to compile the cvs version of torcs on Fedora Core 5 X86_64 > but the compiler generate errors even though all the libraries are > installed. > > > Luya Tshimbalanga Although you didn't mention the error message you got and the gcc-version you use, I maybe have an idea what the problem can be. According to the information on the Fedora website, it seems to use gcc 4.1.0. There seems to be a compile issue with this compiler (there also is a bug of it in the torcs bug system). The attached patch can resolve this issue (at least it let torcs compile on my system). Of course, this is just a guess of what the problem might be without seeing the error message. Greetings, I attempted to compile the cvs version of torcs on Fedora Core 5 X86_64 but the compiler generate errors even though all the libraries are installed. Luya Tshimbalanga -- Fedora News Contributor http://www.fedoranews.org |

Most likely you have set up your spoilers (wings) more steep (bigger angle), so they produce more downforce, but more drag as well (robot tutorial chapter 5). For the human player you can modify/add setups in ~/.torcs/drivers/human or ~/.torcs/drivers/human/tracks/"trackname"/"carsetup".xml (for Linux, FreeBSD, for Windows look into your TORCS installation directory, for the required filename look at the existing examples). I want to increase the velocity of a given car. But I know that a car building tutorial is, at the moment, missing. Do you know how to make? I have seen that berniw3 reach 344 Km/h, but I with the same car reach only 330Km/h. Why? Do you know a documentation for this? Than you Best regards Stefano |

If you would like to create a TORCS competitor, you might consider using neuroevolution. ANNEvolve is an open source project devoted to neuroevolution. One of our sub-projects, EvSail, solves a roughly similar problem. EvSail is a free download from our website. If anyone wants to use ANNEvolve software as the basis for developing a TORCS competitor, I will help you. PS: I am the inventor and founder of RARS Mitchell Timin I'm proud of http://ANNEvolve.sourceforge.net. If you want to write software, or articles, or do testing, or research for ANNEvolve, let me know. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Just make sure you calibrate it with jscal and it works fine. Apparently the force feedback can be hacked in but it's not supported in standard kernels to my knowledge and I've never got it to work. I bought "Logitech Formula Vibration Feedback Wheel", which work quite well even with kernel 2.4. Its feedback doesn't work on linux, but there no pity. I tested it on windows and that feedback is really poor. As I heard some better Logitech should work too and also some Microsoft Sidewinder. Martin |

Hi,
Is there any list of steering wheels known to work on Linux (kernel >=
=3D 2.6)?
I'm thinking about buying one and I want to be sure that it works
on Linux... ;-)

Hi, When I try to run Torcs on Mac I am stuck with a camera view that seems to be under the track and changing the camera view has no effect. Has anyone ever experienced this on linux or know where the problem might be? Thanks, Steve |
