It seems I left out an XML file that TORCS needs :( I've re-uploaded the zip, and took the opportunity to include a sharper shadow texture and fix a small error in the pits area. Torcs crashes during the load sequence of any type of race. Its was
installed using yum on Fedora Core 6
Throws me this error on crash when you try to create a new race with any
number of users (either player + bots, or only bots) and any combination of
vehicles.

I recently finished a set of six cars, along with a championship setup and a new computer driver (robot) to race against. I tried to make the cars behave as if they were in their production state - ie. not specifically modified for racing. As such, you'll see quite a lot of lateral roll while cornering & their hold on the road may leave something to be desired. Nonetheless, each car is quite drivable & fun in its own way. While some cars may have an advantage on particular tracks, on the whole the set is well balanced versus each other making for some very tight racing. As not all users have the same driving abilities, the computer driver includes a skill level that you can adjust. It starts at the slowest speed, meaning that relatively novice players should be able to compete - but at the highest skill level the computer driver will be seriously fast.
