Just tested: I also get this problem with CentOS 5 and torcs-1.3.5-test1 and the Gnome 2 desktop on another computer. I did not get this problem with the KDE desktop. Freezing looks like a Gnome problem. ******* Note that I was able to occasionally drive right through the wall with all variations of the above mentioned (torcs-1.3.5 -> torcs-latest) (CentOS 5 and 6) (Gnome 2 and KDE3) (2 different computers) |

Hi Thank you for testing:-) > 1) I can freeze TORCS in "Dirt 2" by t-boning the divider wall > between the raceway and the pits (on the raceway side). Can you tell me with which car and and how to exactly reproduce it, I tried it now for 15 minutes and got no "success"? Kind regards Bernhard |

Hi, I tried out the new changes made to TORCS and found that it has a sightly higher frame-rate, and drives better overall (a bit more twitchy at lower speeds on pavement though). 1) I can freeze TORCS in "Dirt 2" by t-boning the divider wall between the raceway and the pits (on the raceway side). 2) I find that TORCS is too tipsy when steering in small amounts. This causes too much of a weight shift to the wheels on the outside of the slight turn, causing the car to lean on either the left-side or right-side wheels too much of the time (even when driving straight ahead). This causes the car to avoid driving straight. 3) When using the g-force indicators (and by feel), I find that TORCS generates more force in any direction other than forward. Maybe some dissipative variable steals too much thrust. |

What is it you're having issues with? Just bind all the options to the button/axis you want and run calibration. Go there with configure players -> controls. Any documentation on how to make a Logitech G27 setup work with TORCS? I found a video on YouTube, but the video shows selections in the Setup screens that I do not have on my computer. Jon |

Hi Eric, I recall running into the same problem once. Which properties for the RGB file format did you use when exporting? You could try: alpha & non-compression. If you edit a given skin, then you can use GIMP File -> Overwrite existing file, which preserves the original file format. Hello guys After editing the RGB file, I'm having this error on terminal when I choose to run with this car: "FATAL: cars / car1-stock1 / car1-stock1.rgb: Unrecognized magic number 0x4d42" If I choose to run with a different car there are no mistakes. I restored the backuped file, selected this car and did not make any errors. I think I'm exporting the bmp in the wrong way on GIMP. I'm running Fedora 23, GIMP 2.8 and TORCS 1.3.7 (not compiled by hand, just installed via dnf) Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance. Eric |

I have an HTC Vive and I just discovered TORCS. I looked in the FAQ but did not see a mention about VR. Any chance that TORCS can be changed to support VR headsets? Thanks! Jon |

Hi, You probably have the driver level on 'rookie' or whatever the lowest level is called, because that's the default. Increase it to amateur, semi-pro or professional. The robots use semi-pro. Dear all, When I manually drive a car and purposefully make a collision, there seems to be no damage according to the damage bar. Even the value of "car->_dammage" keeps being 0. Any ideas to record the damage? p.s. Robots seem to be able to record the damages, and I did not add "-nodamage" when running torcs. Thanks in advance, Yunzhu |
