Hi All,

I am trying to control the vehicles, my control law needs to know vehicle
acceleration "DynGCg.acc".
watching this acceleration show that it change very quickly in unlogical
way (we don't see all this changes as the speed is the accumulation
(filteration) of the acceleration and we will see filtred response...)

trying to konw the source of the problem :
i found that the problem is from the forces applied on the wheels computed
in (void SimWheelUpdateForce(tCar *car, int index)) function
where the forces change very rapidly in unlogical way
as un exempl:
 taking          Car->ctrl.accelCmd = 0.1;
i get the following forces acting on the wheels:



you can see that the longitudial force changes very rapidly (eg. from Ft
=-6360 to 7843) which is not logiacl

Searching more and more to know the problem i have found that it is caused
as a result of high changes of  sx = (vt - wrl) / fabs(vt);
which is it its turn change as a result of high changes of wrl =
wheel->spinVel * wheel->radius;
so it is very clear that the problem is from high changes of
"wheel->spinVel" but i couldn't know much more ...
can any one help me to know why it change rapidly and how to reduce this
changes as it is not logical.

Sorry for that, I changed new members being "moderated" and set the offending accounts accordingly. If they have registered already more accounts we will see some more spam though... the new "mode" is then annoying for new members, because it can take up to some weeks till their posts get through, e.g. when I take a holiday or so...

I had read in forums that I needed to replace 'afxres.h' with 'windows.h',
but I did not realise that I could open the torcs.rc file in a standard
text editor. Therefore, I finally tried following the instructions for the
VS2005 instead. Even though I was using VS2008, these instructions made it
work for me, but maybe I should try it your way to see if there is any
difference in the performance.

On a brighter note, since I got the program to compile correctly and after
some fiddling around, I have managed to add the little bit of extra code I
needed to record the car's position on the track and speed travelling
(along with a few other variables) as a human is controlling the car. Woo
hoo!, one step closer to getting this PhD project up and running :)

Then I searched some forums, and found you must replace 'afxres.h' with
'windows.h'
I had the problem I couldn't open the file 'torcs.rc'.
So I picked a texteditor(I prefer notepad++, but that's up to you ;) ) and
opened the file.
It worked just fine.(altough I used 'release')
