Hi, I found the solution to my own problem. #Plug the steering wheel on the gameport before booting #Once logged in: sudo modprobe emu10k1-gp sudo modprobe guillemot sudo modprobe analog sudo modprobe iforce # then plug the two usb steering wheels The key is NOT to 'modprobe joydev' (which is often seen in forums) with this steering wheel. It was partly given at http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/joystick Maybe it will help s.o. else. Hi, I'm trying to have a Guillemot "Race Leader 3D" driving wheel works with torcs, on Kubuntu 8.04. It's gameport-plugged on a SB Live! sound card. I followed advice from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=338457 among others. The following code creates the device /dev/input/js2: sudo modprobe joydev sudo modprobe emu10k1-gp # sudo modprobe gameport ## I've tried with or without this line sudo modprobe analog lsmod | grep game #gives: gameport 17936 3 analog,emu10k1_gp Tests are OK with kde settings utility (kcontrol), jstest (command line utility, package joystick), jscalibrator (installed, then removed). Torcs recognizes the buttons but not the wheel nor the pedals. I also tried a few other modules, including: sudo modprobe ns558 sudo modprobe guillemot Any help appreciated. Mayeul |

In the file "complile_tcse_linux.txt", so say things about apt-get. apt-get is in general not available on a Linux distribution: it is only available at Debian or distributions based on Debian. Also, "make" doesn't work here. The reason is that it gcc is called with gcc-4.2, and I only have gcc-4.1.2 installed (which should be sufficient as well). Also the places to the libraries are fixed: you can't change them without setting some enviromental variable (or changing the Makefile). This is neccessairy if the user is on a computer where he can't install programs outside it's own home directory. If one of the dependencies is compiled somewhere in /home, it won't compile this way. A possible solution is using the CMake-files I send you. CMake is then used to find the dependencies and change the compile-flags if neccesairy. Regards, Mart |

I every body again. This morning I've finished a windows installer for the torcs car setup editor v0.11 with NSIS. Now to install the program: run the installer and then select the folder where is torcs installed (by default C:\Program Files\torcs) and tcse will be installed and a desktop shortcut will be created. It can be downloaded from: http://files.filefront.com/windowsInstaller+tcse+v011exe/;11981607;/fileinfo.html So now it's more easy to install tcse in linux or windows because of the new installers. Any suggestion or idea to improve tcse will be welcome. Vicente http://www.vmarti.es/ |

This is peculiar. Can you try adding #include <cstdio> #include <cstring> in the beginning of Trajectory.cpp if they are missing? BrainDrip wrote: > I am getting the error below. I've finished to update the program. TCSE is compiled in windows an linux (tanks to Mart Kelder). You can download it (all in one windows an linux version and the source code) from: http://usuarios.lycos.es/f1torcs/index.html or directly in the following link: http://files.filefront.com/tcse+v011zip/;11973008;/fileinfo.html Now i've developed a linux installer: to install tcse: sudo ./install.sh the program is installed in: /usr/local/share/games/torcs/tcse to run torcs-car-setup-editor: in the terminal just type: tcse Hope this program helps to develop new cars and setup the cars for races. Any sugesition to setup the car will be welcome. Vicente http://www.vmarti.es/ |
