Hi No reason to give up, I guess you did not try my previous suggestion: 1. Open the cmd "manually" (so it will stay open) 2. Run the command from the bat file manually directly from the cmd Best regards Bernhard On 04/26/2013 01:59 AM, AceMot wrote: > Thanks, still nothing. Thanks, worked great! |

Hi Hmm, no idea, maybe your Windows is set up somehow more "secure" than mine... what happens if you copy/edit the command from the bat file and run it straight from the cmd, does this work (then you could use it at least, or create a new cmd/bat)? What does the property tab of the bat say, anything special there? Did you try to start it with the menu point in the TORCS menu structure from the taskbar? Please let me know if something of this helped (or not) for future reference. Best regards Bernhard On 04/15/2013 02:12 PM, AceMot wrote: > Thanks for that, Java is installed. Hi Please check if you have Java installed: open a cmd shell (go to the start button, open the "execute command" box, I do not know the exact naming right now, enter cmd.exe), the enter in the cmd window java -version. If Java is not found, install java (java.sun.com). I have the track editor running on Windows 7 64 bit here. Since I changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 trackeditor.bat doesn't work. Is it just me or has anyone else had this problem? All I get is a flash of code lasting, I think, less than a second. I'm running the latest Torcs and have tried it with all security-ware disabled. Would appreciate any input or clues to a solution. Thanks, Mac. |

Hi Have a look into the robot tutorial, www.berniw.org, navigate into the TORCS section. In the "TORCS installation instructions" (http://www.berniw.org/torcs/install/torcs-setup.html) it is explained how to set up the environment. For "personal work" I usually install TORCS in my home directory, then I do not need to mess around with permissions, for that I use "./configure --prefix=${HOME}/torcs_bin". You can have a look as well into the makefiles of existing robots. Hi,
If I get it correct, the complete makefile "Make-default.mk" in the
torcs-1.3.1 directory should be included (see last line include
${MAKE_DEFAULT}) in the make file in the src/drivers/ directory.
But ls ${MAKE_DEFAULT} does not give the path to the /torcs directory but
lists all the file in the current directory.
/src/drivers/MyCar$ ls ${MAKE_DEFAULT}
Makefile MyCar.cpp MyCar.def MyCar.dsp MyCar.o MyCar.so MyCar.xml
Regards,
Thomas

Hi Bernhard, I have the same problem, and tried already tried to solve it for several hours. make gives the same error message " make: *** No targets. Stop." output of ls -l $MAKE_DEFAULT in directory .../Torcs-src/torcs-1.3.1_applied_patch_05_and_1.3.1-6 /src/drivers/MyCar total 29 -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1031 Apr 7 01:07 Makefile -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3418 Apr 7 01:07 MyCar.cpp -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 498 Apr 7 01:07 MyCar.def -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4572 Apr 7 01:07 MyCar.dsp -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2076 Apr 7 01:56 MyCar.o -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2076 Apr 7 02:33 MyCar.so -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1125 Apr 7 01:07 MyCar.xml I used g++ to generate the .so file: g++ MyCar.cpp -o MyCar.so -I ../../libs/tgf -I ../../../export/include/ -c and copied the files to the directories where I thought they should be. Still, I cannot select MyCar from the list of drivers. In the console I see the following error message: linuxModInfoDir: ... /usr/local/lib/torcs/drivers/MyCar/MyCar.so: only ET_DYN and ET_EXEC can be loaded [2] Can you describe what I have to do to install the bot without a Makefile? Or do you have an idea how I can make the "make" script work? Kind regards, Thomas |
