Here is a patch to play with. Correctly combined longitudinal, lateral, and yaw tire friction forces. (realistic and predictable vehicular response where the rubber meets the road) |

'disabled' and 'plib' work correctly. torcs-1.3.7 both 'disabled' and 'openal' have the problem. > Thank you for your support. > > Kind regards > > Bernhard > > On 18.02.2017 20:23, David Savinkoff wrote: > > ----- David Savinkoff wrote: > >> ----- Bernhard Wymann wrote: > >>> Hi > >>> > >>> Thank you for testing:-) > >>> > >>>> 1) I can freeze TORCS in "Dirt 2" by t-boning the divider wall > >>>> between the raceway and the pits (on the raceway side). > >>> > >>> Can you tell me with which car and and how to exactly reproduce it, I > >>> tried it now for 15 minutes and got no "success"? > >>> > >>> Kind regards > >>> > >>> Bernhard > >> > >> I used car1-trb1 semi-pro and drove the car into the wall where it says "Water" > >> I am using CentOS 6 and the Gnome 2 desktop. > >> > >> Just tested: > >> I also get this problem with CentOS 5 and torcs-1.3.5-test1 and the Gnome 2 > >> desktop on another computer. Hi David So, to recap, just to make sure: It freezes only under gnome 2, when you do the same thing e.g under KDE it does not happen? Hypothesis: KDE and Gnome do not use the same sound daemon, the Gnome sound daemon in combination with torce causes a hang somehow. Can you test this? You could try to disable the sound in TORCS and see if you are still able to make it hang (as it sounds it is "a piece of cake" to reproduce it on your system, is it)? If you take an old version of TORCS (which had the plib option), does it happen with plib and openal, or just with openal? Thank you for your support. Kind regards Bernhard On 18.02.2017 20:23, David Savinkoff wrote: > ----- David Savinkoff wrote: >> ----- Bernhard Wymann wrote: >>> Hi >>> >>> Thank you for testing:-) >>> >>>> 1) I can freeze TORCS in "Dirt 2" by t-boning the divider wall >>>> between the raceway and the pits (on the raceway side). >>> >>> Can you tell me with which car and and how to exactly reproduce it, I >>> tried it now for 15 minutes and got no "success"? >>> >>> Kind regards >>> >>> Bernhard >> >> I used car1-trb1 semi-pro and drove the car into the wall where it says "Water" >> I am using CentOS 6 and the Gnome 2 desktop. >> >> Just tested: >> I also get this problem with CentOS 5 and torcs-1.3.5-test1 and the Gnome 2 >> desktop on another computer. Here are two more scenarios:
1) I crashed into olethros-6/car4-trb1. When olethros-6 hit the pit wall
TORCS froze. This is with Dirt-2 as mentioned above.
2) Select: Quick Race (previous tests also), car6-trb1, E-Road, semi-pro
(t-bone pit wall from track-side using Gnome2 desktop freezes TORCS)
Thus any car/driver hitting the pit wall on any track may freeze TORCS
when using the Gnome2 desktop. I have never froze TORCS by colliding
with anything other than the pit wall.

HELLO I am experimenting the simulink robot plugin for TORCSfound in https://github.com/VerifiableAutonomy/TORCSLinkwhich is an interface between TORC and MATLAB The problem is that I am enable to ACC example. Afterfollowing the first steps on the "read me" file and installing the Motorway track, the driversmatlab 0 and matlab 1 are nowhere to beadded to the race in the TORCS menu.I am using visual studio 2013 and matlab 2016b. Thanks in advance for any help. |

I can reproduce this problem with 1.3.6 and windows. I also remember seeing the problem on linux with earlier versions of torcs. The best way to reproduce the problem is to keep the throttle open and adjust the steering to both extremes while contacting the pit wall. You'll need to repeat this with the car at differing angles to the wall. I just used dirt-2 with the peugeot 206 to reproduce the problem. I've never seen this problem under normal game play conditions. Brian |
