more tracks! great! By the way, I suppose this has come up before but, what is the process to make data files like new tracks and cars part of the torcs-data packages? Supposing there are no copyright issues with a new track or car, how can it be incorporated to the truck version? Cheers, Albert. Hello Dave, and all, could you send me the PNG image which doesn't show? Because I have already tried with some PNGs with alpha channel, and they have always worked. Also, do other images work? Hi Sebastian, I do have the older version, but I'm having problems with it as the track image (png file with white track on transparent background) does not show. I was hoping the newer version would fix it. Dave. Hi Dave, Just download the version which is downloadable at the torcs racing board (section "downloads"), it's an older version but this 0.7.0 version never worked for me. Hi Torc'ers, I've just downloaded Trackeditor-0.7.0 from sourceforge which is the source version. Unfortanately I haven't a clue how to build it, as I'm a complete numpty when it comes to Java (I'm a C++ man), and it doesn't come with any notes. How can I generate a working .jar file and do I need any special scripts to execute this jar file? Cheers, Dave. |

Hello, It seems that you have a code problem in /usr/local/include/AL/alc.h; I attach mine, copy it (as root) into /usr/local/include/AL, then do a make clean in torcs sources directory and try again from ./configure. Hi I've been trying to compile torcs 1.3.1 for the past few days because we will be using it in a class... I can install it fine with Synaptic or the add/remove interface (so I guess apt-get will work too) but I can't get the robotgen from berniw's tutorial to work (we'll be using C++) If I try to install it the regular way, I'm getting this... (see attachment) I tried to install 1.2.4 too but I read on the net the error I was getting was caused by the newest gcc What can/should I do? I'm still fairly new to linux and I'm running out of resources, I'm going to ask my teacher tomorrow but it's his first time trying that particular project and he's using a mac so he might not have encountered this particular problem. Thank you Joey |

thanks. would be good to have time to go create all that you say. would be good have all circuits finished and gradually go creating the cars each season. But that takes time. For now I am focused on continuing to create tracks and circuits. It's not in my plans to create cars to this season. If someone wants to be based on my work to create cars that are incorporated into this season. just a matter of changing the texture file. Hi all, Hi would like to thank manfariel for the amazing work done with the F1 2009 cars in ForSim-Torcs: http://apr-free.info/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&id=5&Itemid=54 I had a great time last year playing with them. I was explaining the fact that we have community-based cars in TORCS to a friend of mine, and that we had all 2009 F1 cars in TORCS, and he couldn't believe it. It's something we should be very proud in the open-source community. Many thanks manfariel! It would be great if we could have a new car set for 2010. For what I've seen in the news, the main two differences in the Formula One regulations next season are: a) Cars will be heavier. About +20 kg compared to last year's. b) The front wheels are thinner. Looking forward to it, Cheers, Albert. |

Hi, I'm training a robot with computational intelligence techniques. For now I'm using NEAT. After about 1000 race restarts torcs crash. Before this, about 700 race restarts, I percept that the tyres didn't render right, only the sides were rendered and the middle didn't appear, you can see the track throw the tyres. You can also see the suspension in the middle of it. I was using the f1 car that comes with torcs. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 and Torcs 1.3.1 using the plib sound backend. If I use OpenAL the game crash very early, after some restarts. If it's interesting, I can also provide a bt. I'm also using the patch used in the CIG championship: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cig/files/Championship%202009%20Linux/1.3/champ2009patch-1.3.tgz/download Here is the bt for the problem I described first: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00ffc8e8 in vtable for __cxxabiv1::__si_class_type_info () from /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (gdb) #0 0x00ffc8e8 in vtable for __cxxabiv1::__si_class_type_info () from /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 #1 0x007f49f4 in grVtxTable::draw_geometry_for_a_car_array (this=0xec4b158) at grvtxtable.cpp:615 #2 0x007f5d87 in grVtxTable::draw (this=0xec4b158) at grvtxtable.cpp:260 #3 0x00a9568b in ssgLeaf::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #4 0x00aaa6aa in ssgTransform::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #5 0x00aaa6aa in ssgTransform::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #6 0x00aaa6aa in ssgTransform::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #7 0x00a8ff72 in ssgBranch::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #8 0x00a8ff72 in ssgBranch::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #9 0x00a9ff1f in ssgSelector::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #10 0x00aaa6aa in ssgTransform::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #11 0x00a8ff72 in ssgBranch::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #12 0x00a8ff72 in ssgBranch::cull(sgFrustum*, float (*) [4], int) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #13 0x00a9244b in ssgContext::cull(ssgBranch*) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 #14 0x00a8ddf7 in ssgCullAndDraw(ssgBranch*) () from /usr/lib/libplibssg.so.1 ---Type <return> to continue, or q <return> to quit---#15 0x007e52fb in grDrawScene () at grscene.cpp:258 #16 0x007e4d3b in cGrScreen::camDraw (this=0x8ada4e8, s=0x870a990) at grscreen.cpp:288 #17 0x007e4f02 in cGrScreen::update (this=0x8ada4e8, s=0x870a990, Fps=0) at grscreen.cpp:349 #18 0x007d4cf7 in refresh (s=0x870a990) at grmain.cpp:328 #19 0x00859da4 in ReUpdate () at raceengine.cpp:640 #20 0x008576bd in ReStateManage () at racestate.cpp:97 #21 0x00857a87 in reHookActivate () at racegl.cpp:224 #22 0x00e716d0 in GfuiScreenActivate (screen=0x87174d0) at gui.cpp:490 #23 0x00857813 in ReStateManage () at racestate.cpp:117 #24 0x00857a67 in reDisplay () at racegl.cpp:52 #25 0x001275bb in ?? Hi all ! Congratulation for magnificent advancement and modernization of " Torcs" now called "Speed Dreams! Nevertheless an important question: Why functioned " pit sharing" no more?? That should be inserted again!!! Now to Andrews excellent Grand Prix cars: They are very difficult to drive, but according to my opinion a time-fair track is missing for these cars. As it would be with" Nordschleife" , called "the green hell"? I revised and shifted my track from Torcs to SD into the conditions before 1970 , therefore also no steel barriers, but only shrubbery and hedges. Since it is a pure nature track, only the appropriate buildings in the starting + target area are missing. (Grandstands and box topstructures in dark wood) It would make me much happy , if one of you would take itself the time, and became futher-built this range in 3D . Afterwards the track would fit perfectly the 36GP-drivers. The downloadaddress: http://www.filefactory.com/file/a18fae8/n/greenhell.7z Wish much fun, Comments desired Greetings Jürgen |
