Hi All >> GLUT: Fatal Error in torcs-bin: visual with necessary >> capabilities not found. I added GLUT_ALPHA to the glutInitDisplayMode in screen.cpp for the track map creation, perhaps that is the reason (although even my ancient hardware supports that, greetings from my PCI TNT...)? What system are you running? - OS? - Graphics board and memory? - Graphics driver? - What color depth are you using? bye, Bernhard. -- visit my homepage http://n.ethz.ch/student/hwymann |

Hi, When starting Torcs version 1.2.2 GLUT complains: > GLUT: Fatal Error in torcs-bin: visual with necessary > capabilities not found. Using Freeglut I get a different error, but looking at the Freeglut sources it basically means the same thing. > torcs-bin: freeglut_window.c:408: fgOpenWindow: Assertion > `window->Window.VisualInfo != ((void *)0)' failed. Torcs 1.2.1 works fine. What should I do to get 1.2.2 running? Cheers, Ronald |

Hi, I continue developing my robot and have another question. I've had a problem with my car in a track. It did strange things, so debugging I saw that segment 115 on e-track-1 has a length of 157 meters while the other curves are of about 8 meters. So, my question is: is this a mistake or should I consider it normal and check it? Thanks, ziberpun |

Thanks Eric - at your suggestion I downloaded
TORCS-1.2.2-src-tools.tgz
TORCS-1.2.2-src.tgz
(but because I don't have broadband I did not get the data, robots or
tracks)
and now I am hacking at the spec file to get it build 1.2.2 with the
old data and hope that the framerate improves.
Wish me well!
Sentiments,

Hi ziberpunk > I'm developing a robot for torcs and I'm with the graphic part. I'm not very keen on this so perhaps I'm asking silly things :). I'd like to know if there's a nascar texture in xcf format instead of rgb. It'd be also very helpful if somebody has a template for pit's logo in xcf format just with grey borders. In the bt robot downloads is a nascar xcf included up from robot tutorial chapter 6 (not a brilliant one, but give it a try). An xcf pit logo is not available, but that is very easy to do, look in robot tutorial chapter 6, all "pixel" constraints are explained. With gimp you can click into the "rulers" and drag out a "helper" line (x,y position is displayed in the lower left status bar), on which you can "snap" later operations, so it is very easy to set up the layout. bye, have fun, Bernhard. -- visit my homepage http://n.ethz.ch/student/hwymann |

I hope someone familiar with building the freeglut package that comes in the SuSE 8.2 source rpm is reading this list. Here are the last few lines of output config.status: executing depfiles commands + sed s,-lglut,/usr/src/packages/BUILD/torcs-1.2.0/freeglut/freeglut/freeglut/freeglut/freeglut-1.3/.libs/libfreeglut-1.3.a, Make-config sed: can't read Make-config: No such file or directory Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.61152 (%build) from /usr/src/packages/SPECS # rpm -bb -vv torcs.spec I am building the stock src.rpm torcs-1.2.0rc2-14.src.rpm downloaded from ftp.suse.com, on a stock SuSE 8.2 Professional (I cannot find source rpms on my CDs - maybe they are hiding out on the DVDs - so I downloaded it) I don't know which part of the package should generate Make-config, but there is no such file in the freeglut portion of the rpm build tree. (Only /usr/src/packages/BUILD/torcs-1.2.0/freeglut/freeglut/Make-config.new which is empty.) Can anyone guess what I did wrong? David |
