You may not have the required development packages installed. Be sure to have something similar to: libexpat-dev Maybe add the following to CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS -lexpat Correction: I meant CXXFLAGS, not CPPFLAGS in previous posts. ----- Athar Haque wrote: > No, that's where the error is coming. > > On running this - /home/USER/local/bin/torcs . Hi, Enclosed is my working TORCS 1.3.6 install directory listing. Does Ubuntu only permit library '*.so' in /lib/ directories? Please compare the enclosed local/lib/torcs with your directory. ----- Athar Haque wrote: > same error :/ I assume this error refers to the torcs-bin executable. > > On Sat, May 24, 2014 at 5:59 AM, David Savinkoff wrote: > > > How does this work with TORCS 1.3.6 (works on CentOS) > > (Note './configure --prefix=/home/USER/local') > > > > ./configure --prefix=/home/USER/local CFLAGS="-march=native -O3" > > CPPFLAGS="-march=native -O3" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--no-add-needed,--strip-all" > > make > > make install > > make datainstall > > > > Old versions may need (libm) CFLAGS="-march=native -O3 -lm" > > > > ----- Athar Haque wrote: > > > Any help with this ? :/ > > > > > > > > > -- > Regards, > Nazrul |

How does this work with TORCS 1.3.6 (works on CentOS) (Note './configure --prefix=/home/USER/local') ./configure --prefix=/home/USER/local CFLAGS="-march=native -O3" CPPFLAGS="-march=native -O3" LDFLAGS="-Wl,--no-add-needed,--strip-all" make make install make datainstall Old versions may need (libm) CFLAGS="-march=native -O3 -lm" ----- Athar Haque wrote: > Any help with this ? :/ > |

Same error persists and also with reference to the issue - http://www.linuxcore.fr/2013/01/torcs-the-race/, "torcs-bin" is not present in /usr/lib/torcs ! Hi Nazrul #define VERSION "1.2.4" Are you sure that you want to build this old version? Anyway: configure:6261: g++ -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall -fPIC -O2 -DUSE_RANDR_EXT -DGL_GLEXT_PROTOTYPES -L conftest.cc -lm >&5 /usr/lib/gcc/i686-linux-gnu/4.7/../../../i386-linux-gnu/crt1.o(.text+0x18): error: undefined reference to 'main' I guess the "-L" option is the problem here, like here: http://sourceforge.net/p/torcs/mailman/message/30184956/ Here I explain how to analyse/solve it: http://sourceforge.net/p/torcs/mailman/message/30193739/ Hope this helps.
