Hal Jordan is on Korugar, hunting down a misbehaving Sinestro. Katma Tui has a suggestion where he might be hiding...
Wait...Sinestro's father ran on opium den?!?!
Katma has actual work to do (preventing a planet from blowing up!), so she leaves Hal to his quest.
And Hal finds out that it's much more than an opium den...
OK, that's got to be way worse than our opioid epidemic.
But Sinestro's there, and he tricks Hal into getting caught by those (conveniently) yellow "null rays."
Well, I guess death really is pretty cool. Hey, has anybody told Thanos about this?!? It'd probably be easier to impress Death by opening a franchise of this "null chamber" on every planet!!
Oh, and Katma Tui showed up to save Hal, and Sinestro gets away, because Jordan basically sucks at everything.

This Election Is Rigged!!
It's election time on Qward!
And how does one win a popularity contest on Qward?
Well, Sinestro's plan fails miserably.
But, three issues later, the final results still aren't in:
Off course, old Crimson McBigForehead fails again. So, no electoral win for him!!
Still, I would have liked to have seen what Gypo-Bax did that was so evil. And let's not forget Gny-Gryngg!! How is it possible Geoff Johns never gave us a story about them?!?!
BTW, the Qwardian media takes their elections very seriously...
Oh, come on. He's plenty evil. His problem is that he's incompetent. And incompetence never gets elected...

(manic) Brightest (mon)Day #9--Things Just Move Slower In These Parts
So, at the end of Blackest Night #8...
Now, we know that Brightest Day #0 takes place at least several days later, and yet in the issue's epilogue:
Really? There's a big hole in the road, and one of the most powerful objects in the universe is just laying there, and it's still there several days later? The yokels of Silver City just sit around gawking? No one thought to call the Justice League, or S.T.A.R. Labs? Really?
I imagine the days passed like this:
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
Zander | MySpace Video
And if you're going to say that both of the epilogues were taking place at different times than the stories that preceded them, well, I can hardly be blamed for the ridiculously poor storytelling, can I?
