I Went To A Jazz Concert And A Hockey Game Broke Out!!

Hey, gang, it's time to hang with our favorite Golden Age band leader:

They're playing a charity benefit at Madison Square Garden!

Ah, but crooks don't car about British war orphans when there's a tempting target available:

Geez, stealing from orphans and killing cops? Who can ever save the day?

Fortunately...

Uhh...guys...hockey equipment usually isn't bullet-proof. Guys...?

And the ref won't even call that a penalty!

Now That's What I Call Sudden Death!!

Baron Torak is a broody vampire...

Dude, you're 30 years early for that!

Anyway, the Baron decides to mingle with we little folk, which leads to...

You're depressed, so you're going to a hockey game? Really?

And he discovers that sports fans are pretty much blind worshipers. Which gives Torak a really bad idea...

I don't have the heart to tell him that hockey is really not that popular. Still, that thought leads him to launch a plan:

Now, I've read a lot of vampire stories, and I'm not sure what "supernatural powers" Torak is using here. Is he somehow possessing Johnny Lawrence's body? Is he somehow transforming himself to look like Lawrence?

Whatever, the result is:

The First Vampire Hockey Player!!!

Still, for a vampire who was brooding around, wanting to feel loved...

...maybe you shouldn't kill the hot wife who loves Johnny. I'm just sayin'...

Anyhow, then comes the big game against the big rival!

So Torak learns the harsh downside to his plan:

Hockey fans hate wusses!!

Well, the Baron just can't lose the love of the fans, no matter the risk to him, because he's just as addicted to the cheers as he is to the blood. And so...

OK, that may be the coolest thing EVER!!

Seriously, if hockey were more like that, I might actually become a fan.

Probably not, though...
