Okay, it could be correct to find a "next match" on the following letter, I'm not so sure, but in this screenshot isn't it wrong to return 12 results in hyper-search (when all is searched at the same time and not incrementally) instead of 3 results?

Steps to reproduce:

- write anything in jEdit
- search for \b[a-z]

Expected results: it should find just the first letter of each word.

Actual result: it finds each letter in each word.

Actually, what it's doing is correct. If you are on the first letter of "abc", for example, and search for `\b[a-z]`, the next thing the search will find is "b", then "c" since these are word characters.  The regex engine doesn't look behind since \b is a zero width match.  Probably what you want is something like `(?<=[ ])[a-z]` to find the first character of each word. Of course, this only finds words that start with a lower case letter, which I'm assuming is what you're intending.

**OS Version:** Windows 10
**Java Version:** 1.8 b144
**JEdit Version:** 5.5.0
**Tool used:** NVDA

**Replication Procedure: **
* Install JEdit 5.5.0
* Install NVDA latest Screen reader software
* Turn on NVDA and Java Accessibility Bridge in Windows -> Ease of Access
* Now Launch NVDA followed by JEditv5.5.0
* Type anything in the text area and select the text using Keyboard. -> NVDA does not read the selected text
* Select the text using mouse -> NVDA detects the text area Accessibilit Role as "Unknown" and does not read the selected text.

**Note:** The NVDA reads the Menus, Toolbar buttons, Sidebar toggle button, etc.. properly but not the text area.

This bug can be reproduced in all the conditions.

Accessibility is not supported. I tried with NVDA Screen reader to read out the text typed in the Text Area. The screen reader didn't able to recognize the JTextArea and it detects the accessibile role as 'Unknown' on mouse-hover.

JDK11 is lates General Release now, and JDK 12 will be released in March.

The jedit installer and launcher does not recognize java10 on Windows 10 x64. It prompts me to install Java 8 instead. Java 8 is out of date very soon, so it doesn't make sense to install it. Java 10 does work with the jar based jedit.

Yes, we accept patches, please post them to the jedit-patches tracker.
While I haven't been really quick about applying patches this past year,
once you submit one, it doesn't get lost and someone should put it into the
next version we release.
