Alan, Jeff, Thanks for the prompt replies. Much appreciated. And, Alan, thanks for taking on the Xilize plugin packaging! I'm trying to clear the current list (with Alan's help), then I'll do the annoncement. As Alan said, we've gone to a rolling release, with incremental announcements of what's been released in the last X month(s). There should be one or two more announcements in there somewhere, but I can't swear to it. Plugins and updates get released on a one-by-one basis, not really in batch form... although the updates to the -announce list happen in batch form, and jeff handles that. pre10 is overdue for a release. I'd like to see it packaged and released very soon, but I'm not the one who does that, it's usually vampire or jchoyt, and they're both pretty busy these days. Hi, Is there any schedule for the next release of new and updated plugins? If I missed discussion/announcement of that, my apologies. I searched the announcement list and it looked like the last batch of plugins was released in December 2006, however Plugin Manager shows me plugins as recent as May 2007. Related: how is work going on 4.3pre10, any sense of timeframe for its release? Andy |

Hey all, Is the maintainer of this plugin planning on releasing a new version soon? Several of the jars have new versions available. Though, it's not officially a part of the Jakarta project the xml-rpc jar that's included in the latest version of the plugin is rather old. I'm working on a plugin that uses xml-rpc and I'd like to just require this plugin instead of distributing the newer xml-rpc jar myself. Hi, I am developing a GDB plugin for jEdit, which will hopefully get released soon. During the development of this plugin I encountered some problems that are related to the limitations of the Java execution environment. For example, the plugin needs to send a signal (SIGINT) to the gdb process in order to stop execution when the 'pause' button is pressed. Another example is that the plugin needs to open a tty for the program being debugged in order to separate the I/O streams of the program from that of gdb. As far as I know, there is no 'pure Java' way to do such things. What is the suggested way of overcoming such limitations? I can overcome these limitations either using JNI or by launching an executable to perform the required functionality. In both cases, the plugin will have to be bundled with several versions of the native code - one for each platform on which it should work. (For those that wonder, that's what the Eclipse CDT does as far as I understand.) I'll be glad to hear any suggestions, both general suggestions and ones that are specific to the above examples. If there exist common, portable tools that do the above, I'll be glad to know about them (e.g. the "kill" command on Linux/Unix). My main focus is Linux, but I'd very much like the solution to work also on Windows. The GDB plugin can work with the MinGW version of GDB on Windows (at least it worked the last time I tried it ...). Thanks, Shlomy |

Yes, it would be really nice if the FTP plugin would support the mainframe ftp server (MVS, OS/390, Z/OS). Until this is the case I use Filezilla 3 which runs under Windows and Linux and supports the MVS ftp server quite well. Regards, Manfred --On Mittwoch, 30.
