The archive had this msg from Kris Kopicki. It should fix
the icon problem if you're using a 4.2pre version.

"I've noticed a few problems people have been having with
background mode, missing icon and the cocoa libs not being
found. The 4.2 bundle will fixes all that."

Hi,

the current cobol edit mode included with jEdit does not handle comment 
lines correct. If columns 1 to 6 contain something else than spaces a * 
in column 7 is no longer considered as a line comment character.

As anyone an idea how this can be changed?

And everything on col 1- to 6 and after col should be highlighted as 
comment as well, which is also not the case right now.

hanging totally with absolutely not repainting done

This totally freezes jEdit with no repainting anywhere. 
When you click on some area only that area is repainted. 
I have to restart jEdit to work normally.

from perusing PluginJAR.java from cvs tip/main it looks to me as though 
each jar is designated a distinct
JARClassLoader and as such i wonder if this is the root cause of why my 
app can't see another jar's
resources when running as a jedit plugin?

i suspect i'm missing something but i can't put my finger on it as of yet.

That could be, I haven't heard much about it.  I've been using 
DotComplete, and it certainly has a nicer popup.  SpeedJava had the 
advantage in popping up when I wanted it, especially for methods and 
fields in the current buffer which DotComplete doesn't seem to do.  Any 
info from the DotComplete maintainer about adding this?

The DotComplete popup seems to be a little shy.  I'd also like to see it 
popup when backspacing to a '.', typing class names and return types, etc.

My intentions were to being working on AntFarm's update, however, I have had
several sets of circumstances that demanded my attention.  I still plan to
begin working on an update for AntFarm.  I was hoping to be able to make the
first (or maybe the next one) cut where the new plugin API had to be
utilized.

Using XSLT 0.5.1 with JEdit 4.1 final and the latest
Xalan 1.2.5.1.

Using the XPath tool with this document:

and these XPath's:

...returns *nothing*.  I would expect 'Bob' in all cases.

agreed. i checked into this briefly right before speaking up on this 
list. i'm quite certain these
images are loaded via an absolute and fully qualified path. i'll see if 
i can remove the images for
a bit just to see if this is the final hurdle.

I think I've had similar problems.  To load an icon from my plugin jar, 
i use
new ImageIcon("/icons/tree/OnlineView16.gif")
if I forget and put new ImageIcon("icons/tree/OnlineView16.gif"), then I 
get a similar error.

If the jar with the images is in the jars folder and is being loaded 
correctly (it appears to be) and you're starting your paths with a /, 
then I'm not sure what else could be the problem.

from what i can tell i believe all my jar dependencies are being loaded 
by jedit.

attached is an activity log.

the error is a reference to an image contained within 
myjxta-1.0a-images.jar. all
of this code works fine standalone so i am at present unsure as to the 
problem when
running under jedit.

the actions.xml file references a class in myjxta-1.0a.jar which, in 
turn, fails rather
quickly upon the first reference to another jar, that is 
myjxta-1.0a-images.jar. this
sounds more like a resource access issue vs jar loading. not sure ...

ok, the server seems to return the username in lowercase.  I made things 
case-insensitive and retagged.

In jEdit 4.1, view->scrolling->synchronized scrolling. In jEdit 4.2,
this is not possible but either I or someone else will write a plugin
soon.

and
print(msn.MSN.getUserName())

and set options.msn.debug=true and tell me what output you get when 
signing on (the important lines are the ones about the REA command)

Initial Comment:
There is the small indicator in the gutter of where a fold 
can start, but it would be nice to also have en "end 
fold" indicator.  This is especially useful with languages 
that don't use brackets.  Actually, what would be really 
nice is to allow multiple text strings to be identified as 
begin/end brackets.  For example, in Xbase you have 
the following:

DO WHILE
   .....
   IF 
   .....
      DO WHILE
      ----
      ENDDO
   ......
   ENDIF
   ....
END

You often find an ending tag like an ENDIF or ENDDO but 
have to way to find the matching opening tag.
