Bugs item #608067, was opened at 2002-09-11 17:19 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=608067&group_id=588 Category: editor core Group: minor bug >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: jEditLauncher crashes using %CLASSPATH% Initial Comment: ** jEdit 4.0.3 on Windows XP with Sun JDK 1.4.0_01 ** If I try to set the jEdit parameters to something like: "C:\java\j2sdk1.4.0_01\bin\javaw.exe" -mx64m -cp % CLASSPATH%;"C:\java\jEdit\jedit.jar" org.gjt.sp.jedit.jEdit I get an error dialog box stating: Error launching jEdit: JEdit.JEditLauncher - The system cannot find the file specified. If I use the -jar option, the launcher works fine but I don't get the rest of my classpath. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the jEditLauncher registry settings, but the errant behavior persists. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Carmine Lucarelli (carmine) Date: 2002-11-28 09:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=189246 You probably have a space in one of the paths set in %CLASSPATH%. Instead of this: %CLASSPATH%;"C:\java\jEdit\jedit.jar" try wrapping the entire string in double quotes instead of just the jedit.jar location. That should fix it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=608067&group_id=588 |

I haven't seen any Java application do it correctly yet (at least between a java app and a native one). I haven't tried Redhat 8.0 yet, but I'll test it out when I get the chance to upgrade. I'm going to close this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=645048&group_id=588 |

Bugs item #645225, was opened at 2002-11-28 13:17 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=645225&group_id=588 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Ludovic ANCIAUX (lanciaux) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: XMODE.XTD in wrong dir Initial Comment: In jEdit 4.1pre6, xmode.xtd file is in .../jedit/syntax but for XML plugin to find it (0.8.1 and 0.9), it should be in .../jedit/ ! It results mode xml files are all parsed wrong when edited in jEdit. The only quick fix - I found - is to change dir for this file in jedit.jar file because XML plugin doesn't want to understand a "system" XTD with would have been specified in dialog box imports. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=645225&group_id=588 |

Hi,
Am using 0.1.0-beta with jedit 4.0.3 on windows 98. I am impressed with
it until the last version when it worked perfectly well to replace wincvs.
But the 0.1.0-beta version seems funny.
When ever I select a CVS folder & select Update from the popup menu, it
shows me all the files, whichever have changed in the CVS in the console
plugin, BUT does not physically write the file. Thus I am not able to
checkout latest files.
Has anyone noticed this behaviour.
-Jiger

Hi, I would like to know if JEdit was written to be easily extended into another application?? If so where can I find the some possible sample apps exemplifying this adaptation?? I want to interface it with a drag n drop graphical app which writes basic Java to the JEdit's main editing panel. When I try to "Run current buffer" jythonInterpreter gets the filename from jedit and will quote all characters after a backslash, eg "C:\foo.py" becomes "C:<quoted f>oo.py", which cannot be loaded... It was also using the default parameter of the jEdit.getIntegerProperty() incorrectly (making the assumption that that method could throw an exception; it can't). A new version of the Antelope plugin is available. While basically a bug fix release, there are also a few feature enhancements. The main changes are: * Added input handler so the Ant <input> task can be used from within Antelope. * Added progress bar to show percent complete for running target. This is useful for long running targets. The percent is calculated from the total number of tasks that a target will run and makes no assumptions about how long a particular task will take. * Added ability to gather performance statistics for running target. This is useful for optimization of build files. * Build file syntax highlighting is very slow in app mode, added menu item under Format menu to turn the syntax colorization on or off. Default is off, which makes for much faster performance. Colorization is a bit flaky when changed from on to off or vice versa. The distribution into several files for easier download: Antelope_docs_1.197.zip = docs only Antelope_tasks_1.197.zip = extra ant tasks and task docs Antelope_1.197.zip = everything including source code Antelope_1.197.jar = application, jedit plugin, tasks, docs. This is the file that should be passed out by PluginManager. The CVS repository is woefully out of date for this project, so these files are the best bet for getting the latest. ----- Name: Antelope Version number: 1.197 Requirements: # dependencies plugin.ise.antelope.AntelopePlugin.depend.0=jdk 1.4 plugin.ise.antelope.AntelopePlugin.depend.1=jedit 04.00.01.00 plugin.ise.antelope.AntelopePlugin.depend.2=plugin console.ConsolePlugin 3.3 plugin.ise.antelope.AntelopePlugin.depend.3=plugin errorlist.ErrorListPlugin 1.2 plugin.ise.antelope.AntelopePlugin.depend.4=plugin common.CommonControlsPlugin 0.3 Also needs Ant as a separate download from http://jakarta.apache.org/ant. Long: Antelope is an application for running Ant and analyzing build files. It can run as either a stand-alone GUI application or as a jEdit plugin. Bugs item #643784, was opened at 2002-11-25 21:38 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=643784&group_id=588 Category: editor core >Group: severe bug Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Derek Groothuis (dgroo) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Weird lock-up with pre6 - loses changes Initial Comment: Howdy, I've had a weird recurring problem on Windows XP with pre6 (about four times today). It seems to happen on saving, and basically the editor just locks up. After a force-quit, however, when I reload the document I was working on, the file is empty, and all my changes are lost. I've never had this happen before, so I'm guessing it's something that has changed in pre6. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anything interesting in the Activity Log when this happens. I'll keep trying to catch it and see if I can come up with more information. (One suggestion for the Activity log - it might be worth emitting timestamps at the beginning of log lines - it's hard to tell what things are recent and what is unrelated, because I can't tell when things are written to the log.) Thanks... --Derek ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Derek Groothuis (dgroo) Date: 2002-11-26 14:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=566189 I too am rolling back to pre5 since I've lost a lot of work a couple of times, and it's just to risky for me (sigh, back to viewing Perl sans syntax highlighting). I'm going to upgrade this to a severe bug (hope that's kosher). --D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stephan Wiesner (stephanwiesner) Date: 2002-11-26 05:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=311686 I have just downloaded pre5 again, because I have the same problem as described above, also on Wondows XP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=643784&group_id=588 |

When happens, all buffers are effected, including newly opened ones. The problem was rarely encountered in pre5 but happens almost all the time with pre6. Machine config is: Sun Blade 100, Sun Solaris 2.8 Ximian Gnome 1.4 java version "1.4.0" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-b92) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-b92, mixed mode) And I usually edit C/C++ code, if it could have any relation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=644009&group_id=588 |

--Derek ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stephan Wiesner (stephanwiesner) Date: 2002-11-26 05:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=311686 I have just downloaded pre5 again, because I have the same problem as described above, also on Wondows XP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=643784&group_id=588 |

Bugs item #631802, was opened at 2002-10-31 23:11 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=631802&group_id=588 Category: editor core Group: None >Status: Deleted Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Derek Groothuis (dgroo) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Recurrence of Drag&Drop/Dialog Problem Initial Comment: The Drag & Drop/Dialog problem I originally reported in bug 583893 seems to have reared it's ugly head again - Carmine had fixed this in a DragAndDrop.jar I pulled down from him, and I thought it was fixed in subsequent 4.1pre* versions, but it appears to be back in, at least as of version pre5 (on Windows XP, JDK 1.4). The aformentioned bug summarizes the problem, but as a quick recap: if you drag a file from windows explorer into jEdit, and something causes a dialog to pop up (for example, the currently displayed file has been modified), jEdit locks up, and the only option is to force quit and restart it. As a related issue, jEdit will sometimes pop up dialogs behind other windows, and when you actually view the dialogs, they never redraw and you can't actually select any of the buttons (effectively locking jEdit and forcing you to kill it). The two issues above combine for a fairly unpleasant behavior. The former locks jEdit, forcing you to kill it. When it starts up, if you had unmodified files, they pop up behind other windows, so you can't respond to them, forcing you to kill jEdit again. So essentially if you kill jEdit with modified files, the only solution is to minimize everything, then wait for jEdit to restart, respond to the dialogs, then go back to what you were doing. Thanks... --Derek ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Derek Groothuis (dgroo) Date: 2002-11-25 21:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=566189 Carmine, I tried removing and re-grabbing the jar, and it seems to be better now. Maybe I somehow had an old version being loaded (although the date looked right. Weird.) I'm deleting this bug, though. Thanks... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Carmine Lucarelli (carmine) Date: 2002-11-01 19:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=189246 I can't reproduce this on Win NT, JDK 1.4 with jEdit 4.1pre5. Does it only happen when dropping multiple files, single files or both? Do you have VFS's associated with file extensions in the Drag'n'Drop option pane? You could also try upgrading (if you're still using the jar I uploaded as a quick fix) to the one on plugin central (version 0.2.7). Let me know how you make out. This is only evident when JEdit is executed when a users disk quota is full or nearly full... the editor opens with all docked plugins docked, toolbar customised as before, etc. Upon exiting and restarting a new JEdit session, all these customised settings have gone and the editor reverts to it's factory settings... i.e. no plugins are docked, the toolbar is back to the state it usually is when JEdit is first installed, etc. The plugins and such are still there, and can be redocked... but this is annoying and time consuming. Why does the editor not write the settings out 'in place' to the preferences file? I assume the settings are stored in a .properties or xml file... I realise that this bug is only evident to folks on a network share with limited disk quotas :D - or should that be :'( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=643646&group_id=588 |

Möbius (dmoebius) Date: 2002-02-24 15:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=9521 Sorry for the late response. I cannot reproduce this. Could you please attach the source code file where JavaStyle procudes the exception? (Or, even better, a chopped down version of the source code that still reproduces the error). Thanks, Dirk. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dirk Möbius (dmoebius) Date: 2002-01-18 11:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=9521 Thanks, I'll investigate... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=483765&group_id=588 |

Are you sure that you got the "wrong" directory? Please open the Console, go to the BeanShell and enter: System.getProperty("user.dir"); This will return the directory where jEdit was started from. This is the "current directory". Please verify that the JavaCompiler substitutes "." with this directory. You can see the command line issued by JavaCompiler by turning on the option "Show Command Line" in the Java Compiler options pane. Please answer if the results still don't match your expectations.
