I am trying it now. I notice right after JavaSideKick is activated there seems to be a lot of CPU activity on multiple threads doing a lot of busy work for 15+ seconds. Not sure if that is Antlr or the new JavaSideKick, but if it is an initialization process, can jEdit show the progress in the Task Monitor? Just a heads up -- I've committed new code to the JavaSideKick plugin so it can now handle all of the new features of Java 8. It is still a work in progress. Most importantly, code completion doesn't work yet, and the sidekick tree shows only imports, constructors, and methods at the moment. Field and inner classes are not shown yet but should be working in the next few days. If there are any brave souls that would like to give it a try, the code is in jEdit's svn repository. I'd like to hear especially about files that don't parse since I believe the parser itself complete and it should be able to parse all valid Java 8 and lower files without error. Thanks, Dale |

Actually, it looks like there is a general outage at sourceforge at the moment. I'll give it a try later. Eric, I wanted to give this a try, but I'm getting an error page from sourceforge for https://sourceforge.net/u/kerik-sf/helpserver/ci/master/tree/. Any chance you can post the plugin jar somewhere easily accessible? As it turns out, for jEdit documentation, there is no need to use jeditresource:/ links in the docs. It only makes things harder for HelpServer in that it needs to rewrite those URLs. So I've been getting rid of them in docs that I recall seeing them, in favor of relative (../) paths in XML docs and absolute (/) paths in HTML docs. If you notice any that i missed, please fix them up too. These simpler links work in the classic HelpBrowser and hopefully will soon work in the new HelpServer too. |

This is much easier to package with jEdit than JavaFX! Let's clone it in jEdit's git, and make it integrate nice and tight. |
