Hello, Thanks for looking at the files, Andre. I'm going to continue to try to get jdk 1.1.8 running, but I wanted to make the changes and release them sooner rather than later. The updated the files are here: http://www.rutherfurd.net/files/EditorScheme.jar http://www.rutherfurd.net/files/EditorScheme.zip It probably makes sense to put the code into cvs. Slava or Mike, could one of you guys make me a member of the jEdit project? My sourceforge user id is 'fruhstuck'. I haven't used cvs, but I've downloaded wincvs, and checked out some of the sourceforge docs, so I'll try to put the code into cvs once I have access. -Ollie ol...@ru... > -----Original Message----- > From: jed...@li... > [mailto:jed...@li...]On Behalf Of Andre > Kaplan > Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2000 5:50 PM > To: jed...@li... > Subject: Re: [ jEdit-devel ] EditorScheme v0.2 (maybe) > [snip] > No it doesn't compile with JDK1.1 > You still use Vector.add instead of Vector.addElement at several places > in > EditorSchemeFileList (l. 110), EditorSchemeList (l. 41, 103, 110), > EditorSchemePlugin (l. 46) > > BTW, do you intend to put EditorScheme in the Sourceforge CVS? > > Andre > -- |

No it doesn't compile with JDK1.1 You still use Vector.add instead of Vector.addElement at several places in EditorSchemeFileList (l. 110), EditorSchemeList (l. 41, 103, 110), EditorSchemePlugin (l. 46) BTW, do you intend to put EditorScheme in the Sourceforge CVS? Project: jEdit Category: search and replace Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Bug Group: normal bug Priority: 5 Summary: 2.7pre3 Batch search fails Details: I take it that Batch search is the new name for Hypersearch (I like the name Hypersearch better.). Bug #123870, was updated on 2000-Nov-29 16:28 Here is a current snapshot of the bug. Project: jEdit Category: virtual file systems Status: Open Resolution: None Bug Group: normal bug Priority: 5 Summary: Browse FTP server with VFS fails. Details: OS - win95 or Linux22 Java - 1.2 or 1.3 jEdit 2.6 or 2.7pre2 Connect to one FTP server *sometimes* works Attempt to connect to second one results in the VFS never displaying the directory contents. Any attempt to do anything with the VFS results in a message that says it can only perform one IO operation at once. However, the IO monitor shows all IO threads as idle. It never comes back to you and the only option is to select cancel. (BTW - 2.51 allows connections to multiple FTP servers. I've reverting to 2.51 because of this, despite all the other improvements in 2.7 especially.) Hello, I've made a few updates to EditorScheme. - removed removed java 2 stuff. - added a couple schemes - minor gui tweaks - added way to update existing schemes (non read-only ones) Could someone using jdk v1.1 verify whether or not the plugin works okay for them? I tried installing 1.1.8 to test it, but I keep getting access violoations whenever I try to run javac... The compiled jar and source zip can be found here: http://www.rutherfurd.net/files/EditorScheme.jar http://www.rutherfurd.net/files/EditorScheme.zip Thanks, -Ollie ol...@ru... |

Comment:
The problem is caused by a change made in View.java
/*
// Because the buffers menu contains normal items as
// well as dynamically-generated stuff, we are careful
// to only remove the dynamic crap here...
for(int i = buffers.getMenuComponentCount() - 1; i >= 0; i--)
{
if(buffers.getMenuComponent(i) instanceof JSeparator)
break;
else
buffers.remove(i);
}
*/
buffers.removeAll();
deleting buffer.removeAll() and removing the commenting out from the previous code fixes the problem. As there is no obvious reason why the change was made I don't know what impact this will have elsewhere. Anyway jEdit 2.6 final now seems to run OK under OS/2.
The code as currently written makes it imcompatable with java version older than 1.2
There is also a problem with the 2.6 final source download. A lot of files have lost there upper case characters.

This can only happen if you attempt to search in a file set with no files in it. I will add a check for that case, but it seems strange that you are doing this. Perhaps you set the file name filter to empty, instead of '*'? Bug #123763, was updated on 2000-Nov-28 18:48 Here is a current snapshot of the bug. Project: jEdit Category: plugins Status: Open Resolution: None Bug Group: normal bug Priority: 6 Summary: BufferList doesn't work with non-local buffers Details: BufferList assumes that Buffer.getFile() returns non-null, which is not the case for FTP buffers. The correct way to obtain the parent directory of a buffer is to call buffer.getVFS().getParentOfPath(buffer.getPath()).
