start here: http://www.jedit.org/?page=devel There are links to all of the trackers from that page. Step 1 is to browse through the open bugs and feature requests, and see if there is something you'd like to tackle. Then submit a patch for it. Hi Kay, I'm sure people have seen it. Part of the problem is there aren't many developers on the project with Macs, so it's a little hard for us to support properly. Hello, I only want to get information whether you received my message with the description of the accessible problems. Are there already some efforts to fix it? Thanks, Kay |

Hello, I'm contacting this list because I've a special problem to handle jEdit which is maybe a case for developers. I have to use the VoiceOver screen reader to get access to the OS X operating system (Mavericks). As a software developer I'm also interested in implementing java applications via jEdit. But I found out that the graphical user interface is not accessible, for example the buttons have no label on it and I can't interact with the screen. So I want to know whether it is possible to use jEdit with VoiceOver. I already contacted Apple but they couldn't answer that question and only recommend me to contact you. I want to amend that everybody can reproduce my problem by themselves. The VoiceOver screen reader is installed on every Apple device. It can be activated and deactivated by pressing CMD+F5. The screen reader runs in the background and has no effect on the regular work. But it shows in a separate window which parts of the GUI a visually impaired person is able to use. Maybe this feature helps you to find out a solution. I thank you in advance for your reply. Kay |

Let me clarify what I meant. You have to CLICK on the error (even if it is displaying the wrong filename) to see anything happen with FileOpenerService. |

Do you see a FastOpen window pop up? Is anything entered into the filename textfield? Is your problem because you have because you have 2 files called "file.c" in different folders and fastopen can't decide which one to open so it is asking you to pick one? I tried the following Error Pattern: > > Error Regexp: (../)*([^:]*):([0-9]*):[^:]*: error: (. > *) Warning Regexp: (../)*([^:]*):([0-9]*):[^:]*: warning: (.*) > > Filename: $2 > Line number: $3 > Error message: $4 > > For the first warning this will give > srca/file.c:6:assignment makes pointer ... > This is enough for me to reproduce your issue - I don't need a test project, just the output and the regexes. And I haven't tested your regex because generic parses it fine for me. The way I test it is by just "cat erroroutputfile.txt" in console and ErrorList parses the file just as if it was the output of an actual command. > This does not seem to work together with FastOpen. Forgot to send you this earlier. Install verification from the help doc: Start jEdit, then open the plugin window from the jEdit menu: "Plugins"=>"NetRexx"=>"NetRexx", then click the down arrow at upper left of window and select to dock (Top or Bottom work best). Verify installation: In a new file enter the following line: say "Hello World" Click the Run button in the NetRexx window (right arrowhead). This output should appear in the output window: Hello World On 3/31/2014 1:20 PM, Alan Ezust wrote: > > > On Mon, Mar 31, 2014 at 12:56 PM, Kermit Kiser <in...@ke... > <mailto:in...@ke...>> wrote: > > Yes, I have installs and saved profiles for the jEdit 4.2, 4.3, > 4.4.2, 5.0 and 5.1 versions - it is not too difficult to switch > for testing since jEdit doesn't use the horrible MS registry. > Most testing was done with 5.0 and 5.1 however since I doubt the > older versions are used much. I am the main author of this item, and a few more hints about Java 7 on Mac OS X spread over the jEdit trackers. Now that Java 8 has been released, we should make Java 7 the base line, and no longer care about Java 6. The transition from 6 to 7 is a discontinuity that cannot be bridged with a single application bundler. Java 6 by Apple might be the last Java release that conforms to typical Apple-isms in a stricter sense than Oracle manages, but Oracle has greatly improved the overall quality of Java on that platform, even with support for Retina displays. Apple has abondomed its Java 6 fork officially about 3 years ago, and unofficially much longer before. Anyway, I am around in the critical time interval for the jEdit 5.2 release, to try out whatever happens here. (Starting from the end of May I will be on vacation for several weeks.) As I've said on the tracker, I don't understand "ant" and merely imitated the behaviour of the ant task to bundle the app manually. Makarius |

I helped Vampire with the Mac installer a few times (don't remember if I did last time). Assuming the process is the same as it was before, I should be able to help out there again. I remember some chatter regarding Java 7 support on Mac, anyone figure that out? Or are we going to keep it at Java 6 for now? I don't think I can mark the ticket pending - either I don't have enough permissions or enough know how. Can you do that for me?
