The presumed “dignity” of the U.S. Presidency has existed more in wishful-thinking than in actual fact for quite some time now. What Mr. Giraldi is maybe reluctant to acknowledge here, because the implications are so depressing, is that “Americans” have been getting the “leadership” that matches their own compromised and corrupted national character for most of its existence. Occasional apparent exceptions generally turn-out later to’ve been illusory.

There are those who will say this is a harsh thing to say about people who are on-balance not much better or worse than everyone else. Mebbe so, but the vast gulf between the “self”-image they claim, and insist the world accept, and the reality of their behavior and attitudes, does tend to offer a stark and hardly complimentary contrast between the one and the other.

The new philosopher does not suffer from the frictions of logical inconsistencies, lack of intellectual integrity and subsequent criticisms that plague the monolithic mind committed to singular frameworks of thought. He does not submit, give or bind himself to a given philosophy as a weak husband does to a domineering wife. He moves quickly and remains free and fluid consciously selecting and then applying the philosophy, methodology or framework that is optimal for his particular circumstances, dispassionately discarding it once circumstances change, or its utility wanes.

The new philosopher is an agent of language. He (or she) does not refer to himself in terms of someone or some other group's negative. He asserts his identity and that of his group in positive referential terms. He chooses each word for its intellectual and emotive effect. The new philosopher has an existential understanding of the relationship between language and mathematics, himself and the external world. And he uses his will to transition seamlessly between them. He is not distracted by the quibbling, semantic games or logical fallacies of the vulgar, nor does he suffer fools of any persuasion.

The new philosopher will not arrive at this juncture without cost or sacrifice. But if he (or she) does, then he will have rightfully reclaimed his Will to Power.

Systematically, the contras have been assassinating religious workers, teachers, health workers, elected officials, government administrators. This is a technique that they're using to traumatize the society so that it can't function.

With the children forced to watch they castrate the father, they peel the skin off his face, they put a grenade in his mouth and pull the pin. With the children forced to watch they gang-rape the mother, and slash her breasts off. And sometimes for variety, they make the parents watch while they do these things to the children.
This is nobody's propaganda. There have been over 100,000 American witnesses for peace who have gone down there and they have filmed and photographed and witnessed these atrocities immediately after they've happened, and documented 13,000 people killed this way, mostly women and children. These are the activities done by these contras. The contras are the people president Reagan calls `freedom fighters'. He says they're the moral equivalent of our founding fathers. And the whole world gasps at this confession of his family traditions.
