Apparently it is true that in May 2014, President Putin signed a law, known as the “Law Against the Rehabilitation of Nazism,” which introduced Article 354.1 into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Overall, on the good side, I think Mr. Knudsen was/is well-intended when writing this essay and makes sound observations.

On the bad side, as unfortunately quite usual among the alternative media (AM) it seems these days (best/most often demonstrated by Judge Nap`s shows and guests), he makes just as many extremely unsound ones and his assembled “facts” (and thereby his following interpretations) are sadly riddled with purely factually grave falsehoods, which he could (and should) have easily corrected by double checking the numbers and graphs he presents, yet for some reason, he did not.

As examples:

No 1- “(a)Ukraine is an artificial state that has never existed before. (b)It is a state defined by a specific territory with random borders – without regard for the population living there. Such state formations have always caused problems.(c) Eastern and southern Ukraine are predominantly Russian-populated, while the north-west is predominantly Ukrainian. Over half of the population speaks Russian.”

– This is a very dishonest mis-representation of the actual historic facts:

Sorry to say, but such grave mistakes are inexcusable when publishing about such an important topic and only solidify the sad impression that Mr Knudsen only exchanges our days` mainstream childish black-white anti-Russia worldview with an equally child-like black white view only vice versa, missing the nuanced true target by just about equal length and making his essay as a whole thereby just as useless effecting a real solution to the deep-seated conflicted between the 2 opposing sides.

Knudsen understandibly as a Dane has never even remotely experienced -and thus can ridicule fears of- the historic “dark” side of Russian Politics and Self-image, though ironically quite a number of Danish volunteers during WW2 voluntarily (Viking Division) joined the German Forces in their fight against the looming Russian invasion of all of Europe.

But this also reveals him to be merely an armchair commentator, maybe he should have bothered to talk to at least some of the Millions of people all the way from Germany, Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Baltic states who have actually experienced daily for generations -and some of those for centuries- what he arrogantly and casually dismisses as “From the Soviet era, we know how much endless trouble one has with Europeans”.

While, as no one probably disputes, some claims of the threats of Russia invading Western Europe today are overblown and misused by our corrupt leaders, the true and most unfortunate and dangerous aspect of Russia and its leaders in my experience is that they for some reason seem utterly incapable of honest historical self-criticism, in fact have as their most defining national ideology/ “founding myth” created and established a child-cartoon-(in)version of their role in WW2 (celebrated each year as National Day) that one can only look at in astonishment over such hypocrisy and dishonesty.
