In 1948 the US had largely demobilized, that’s why there was the Berlin Crisis.

There were a number of things, mostly unilateral actions by the Western Allied Powers, that led to the 1948 crisis, not the least of which was the move to make the Allied-sponsored Deutschmark the dominant currency in the city, which they transported into Berlin by the boat-, train-, and plane-load.

Icebreaker: Who Started the Second World War? (Russian title: Ледокол) is a military history book by the Russian non-fiction author Viktor Suvorov, published in 1989.[1] Suvorov argued that Joseph Stalin planned a conquest of Europe for many years, and was preparing to launch a surprise attack on Nazi Germany at the end of summer of 1941 to begin that plan. Terrence Malick (Scorsese called Thin Red Line the second best film of the 90s…I’d say it’s the first).

That was not a good movie in the theater, wayyyy too long and that “false ending” fadeout featured the most unique and hilarious cinematic experience I’ve ever had.

EVERYONE got up to leave, then realizing there was still more movie left, EVERYONE sat back down. There was an audible sound, like a weak sigh. After paying that much, you’re basically obligated to slog through to the end. Looking around it was a “war movie” crowd with former military, vets etc. (maybe skewed by the theater being close to the old CFB Calgary). This supposed “war movie” was all hand-wringing and very little actual war.

Seriously – does anyone except the oscar crowd consider this movie watchable? I remember bits of it because they were such pandering garbage but I wouldn’t call it “memorable.”

Then there was the infamous massacre of a French city by the Waffen-SS in the village of Oradour-sur-Glane on June 10, 1944. Troops from the 2nd SS Panzer Division “Das Reich” murdered 642 men, women, and children and then destroyed the entire village.

I am sure there were many other lesser war crimes by the retreating Nazis in the Western fronts, that did not register in the chaos and much bigger atrocities routinely committed by Nazis, particularly SS and Waffen SS.

1) Serbia was not pressured into anything as there was no need, since Serbia was attacked and occupied by USSR Army in 1944, i.e. Nazi occupiers were replaced by the Soviet ones, and then handed over to local non-Serb communist mass-murderers (non-Serb dictator Tito and communist Croats and Slovenians) that proceeded to slaughter hundreds of thousands of Serbs as Serbs were and still are both monarchists and Orthodox Christians. According to Tito’s memo – Serbia was supposed to be treated as occupied territory. During that short stay in 1944 and before going back to USSR, Russian troops committed many crimes against Serb civilians, including rapes. USSR preventing Serbia from freeing itself was a part of the bigger plan (between Vatican, Britain, USA, USSR, and Tito) described in detail here [1].

BTW, Serbs fought against Nazi Germany [5] and as a “reward” were mercilessly bombed multiple times by Britain and US in 1943/44! [6]. See [1] for the reasons why.

2) Croatia never existed as recognized country in history until 1992 AD. White/Red Croatia, Personal Union with Hungary, King Tomislav, etc. are all fiction and made up maps and history. Croats are converts and an artificial nation. In 1941, Croats established illegitimate Nazi country called ‘Independent State of Croatia’ (i.e. NDH [4]) that was dismantled after the war in order to put Croats back into Yugoslavia to shield them from being persecuted along with Vatican and Bosnian/Balkan Muslims (aka Bosniaks after 1993 AD) for the Vatican’s Holocaust – genocide of the Orthodox Christian Serbs in the WWII [2][3].

True, the Nazi policies varied in the East. When things got bad, the Nazis even recruited Slavs to serve in the SS. But this was like white Americans recruiting one bunch of Indians to fight another bunch of Indians. Who can deny that the overall strategy of White Americans was to vanquish the ‘red savages’ and push them into reservations? Likewise, the overall strategy of the Nazis, though not instantly realized, was to conquer Russia, reduce Russians to helots and even kill off a whole bunch of them so that Germans farmers could take over.

Unlike the British and Americans with their bombing of civilians in German cities, the Wehrmacht did not target civilians per se. The V-2 biltz of London followed months of Hitler publicly denouncing the British terrorist bombing of Germany, to no avail.

But four years earlier, moderates in the Japanese government presented sweeping concessions to US demands, offering to remove its forces from China under US supervision, keeping only Manchuria (not a part of China proper) where Japanese businesses had heavily invested in manufacturing facilities and infrastructure improvements. State Undersecretary Cordell Hull flatly rejected the offer; FDR responded with the final provocation that made war inevitable, embargoing Japan’s vital oil supply.

A feeble, dying FDR seemed to have approached the conference with no clear agenda save apparently to give Stalin everything he demanded – in return for promises the Soviet dictator never kept. These offerings included keeping the eastern half of Poland that the Soviet Union invaded, abandoning the Polish government-in-exile and the Poles fighting in Allied armies, and the ethnic cleansing of some twelve million ethnic German civilians living on land claimed by Stalin in eastern Europe. Also conceded was the victorious allies’ right to “reparations by forced labor” by which over four million German POWs would be exploited as slave laborers by Britain, France, and the Soviet Union. “Andrea Ostrov Letania” has blogs on blogger.com under her name that go back to 2009, so she has kept that constant over the years. When she felt she needed a nickname, she adopted “Priss Factor” or “Jung-Freud”. That’s a hint in favour of AOL being her real name.

There is an Andrea Ostrov, literature professor at the university of Buenos Aires, daughter of a Russian psychoanalyst emigre (notice what you will), Leon Ostrov.
She got funding for projects like “Cuerpos vulnerables: género, etnia y violencia en la literatura y las artes visuales latinoamericanas” (Vulnerable bodies: gender, ethnicity and violence in Latin-American literature and visual arts).

Now the father’s profession, coupled with the Jung-Freud nickname, might invite association, however I would discard it’s her for the obvious reason that this is an American interested in the culture wars and pop culture of the US.
There is a faint chance Jung-Freud might have been a student of Ostrov, perhaps found her funny and adopted her name as avatar for the purpose of misdirection. But it’s unlikely.

From what she writes, Jung-Freud doesn’t like Jews, but doesn’t like Nazis either, and harps nonsense about moralistic reasoning. This would naturally be a Liberal woman, if she were fully white.
Given she probably is not white, she was not under pressure from her environment to conform to Leftism as a white woman would be. Hence, she can appraise dissident positions as correct without any emotional baggage of losing support from her environment. Yet, she retains her harm-avoidant womanly personality about Nazis, war, kinetic resolution of disputes, etc.
Thus I am led to believe she has White-Filipino mixture.

I agree that her being American is a very safe bet, but I think that there are too many imponderables attached to women’s use of double surnames nowadays to be equally confident of the specifics of her ancestry, especially as there is something between a chance and a likelihood that her “normal”-looking name is also a pseudonym.*

Finally, given the large number of genuinely solid reasons to complain about AOL’s work, I think it would be unhelpful, even counterproductive, to give serious consideration to the rumors you refer to. Who knows what news tomorrow might bring, however?

‘Ostrov’ is a Russian surname, and a quick internet search reveals the surname ‘Letania’ (Spanish for “litany”, fits nicely to the bearer) is most probably from the Philippines.

The bearing-a-double-surname thing is a Hispanic mannerism.
[It’s also in vogue among British middle and upper middle classes, but it’s done for vanity (extending the length of one’s surname to resemble the aristocrats’).]

In Russian, the surname would be inflected to the feminine, i.e. Andrea Ostrova.
Uninflected Ostrov for a woman sounds jarring to Russian ears.

There are rumours she is a trans-woman, although the most likely explanation for all the anomalies in just her name, is she is an American mixed-race woman.

Yes, there are tells to several identity points in an author’s writings, the race of an author being another identity point besides the sex of an author. Lacking the leisure time to read more extensively in the comments sections, I usually go along unaware of the number of sockpuppet identities that some commenters maintain, having to be content with spotting a tell or two that may reveal dishonest claims in comments.

Further apropos J-F/PF and at the risk of seeming more reticent than might be thought desirable, I’ll simply say that others here at TUR had preceded me in spotting the two ladies’ identity—i.e., as just one lady—fully six or seven years ago. Call me old-fashioned or even priggish, but I think there is something both disreputable and cheesy about someone who pretends to as many identities as Bartholomew Cubbins has hats. Conceal your name and your whereabouts by all means, but don’t confuse concealment with misrepresentation for its own sake. Enough said on that score.

Finally, apropos a writer’s tells, I think that John Johnson makes several very fair points about sex- and origin-linked characteristics. The final thirty years of my working life were spent in academic and scholastic publishing, and even when the subject matter of a scholarly essay was as dry as dust, I found that there was almost invariably something, whether it was as plain as day or vanishingly subliminal, that disclosed the author’s sex.

Of course it was fake. You don’t need to even bother with the earlobes, though that’s certainly yet another detail one could add. Just watch the video of the actual “killing”, with the act blurred, of course. It’s so fake it’s cringe. And the two crisis actors, well, I haven’t seen acting that bad since the Texas Rangers hauled out LHO for Ruby to shoot.

It’s worth pointing out that no elite in history has managed its power in this way. You might be able to acquire power in that way, but it’s not the way you can sustain it. That would explain why everything this elite controls is falling apart all around them.
