> I've found a workaround; it was sufficient to list as exclusion *ALL* > the partition members of raid, eg: > -E "/dev/sda1|/dev/sdb1|..." P2V done, but also 2 major 'tweaks' was needed. 1) i was forced to explicitly list '/bin' in inclusion, eg add: -I "/|/bin" to commandline, because if not the restored system missed /bin, and so does not boot. 2) restored system lost 'caps', eg i was forced to do: apt-get --reinstall install fping to have 'caps' for fping corectly restored: root@eraldo:~# getcap /usr/bin/fping /usr/bin/fping = cap_net_raw+ep (was empty). > someone can help me? Thanks. I've found a workaround; it was sufficient to list as exclusion *ALL* the partition members of raid, eg: -E "/dev/sda1|/dev/sdb1|..." when restore boot, in partition screen now i've only /dev/mdX partition, that can safely delete/rename/... I'm doing a P2V of a debian stretch server, using testing repository: deb http://ftp.mondorescue.org/test/debian 9 contrib i can create the .iso without troubles and boot on proxmox, but when i try to use it i stop on partition phase. In partition screen i can see all the old phisical partition (mdX and sdaX/sdbX), i can delete the mdX ones but i cannot delete the sdaX/sdbX ones, getting as an error: Cannot delete /dev/sda8: it is in use by RAID device /dev/md122 Some notes: + my old md devices was md0-md5 + on the booted mondo media, /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf list correctly my old md devices + cat /proc/mdstat list NO md devices currently active someone can help me? Thanks. -- dott. The unique problem with this particular box is it does not have network access, so I am unable to offload a mount/snapshot copy to any online shared drives (Nfs/windows share/etc). If you use a USB drive as a target device, then you should use the -U option for mondoarchive not -i for iso. Look at the man page for details. It seems you changed the mindi.conf file to add USBDEVICE="/dev/sdb" however, that's not how it should be done !! You should use -U -d /dev/sdb instead as mentioned in the example section of the man page. You have another problem: /sbin/mindi: line 3152: mr-getparam: command not found You need to install the perl-MondoRescue package as well (the latest version of the mindi rpm requires it so I'm not sure how you installed the SW). It seems whether I run the prompt menu by running mondoarchive, or run mondoarchive -O -V -i -s 4480m -d /mnt/backup/ -I / -E /mnt/backup/ -T /tmp -9 I am able to get a backup completed, but fails on the creation of the bootable iso. When I reboot from backup it brings me to the screen and when I choose interactive or iso it is searching for ‘CDROM’ and where it lives. Is it possible to create a bootable iso using Mondo/Mindi for Centos 7 backup on a USB drive? The unique problem with this particular box is it does not have network access, so I am unable to offload a mount/snapshot copy to any online shared drives (Nfs/windows share/etc). Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Jessica |

Hello Jessica, Jessica Kutina said on Tue, Feb 04, 2020 at 11:25:02AM -0500: > FATAL ERROR. Cannot loopmount /tmp/mondo.tmp.izdXjt/temp.rd to /tmp/mondo.tmp.izdXjt/mountpoint.122776! The reason may be missing support for loopfs or ext2 (or both) in the running kernel. It seems your conf is not completely clean: find: ‘/lib/modules/3.10.0-1062.el7.x86_64’: No such file or directory There is no module corresponding to your kernel. The bootmedia built even if you wouln't have that error would not boot. I'd recommend that you try the latest beta version of 3.3.0 available under ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/test/centos/7/x86_64/ Consider adapting what is here: http://trac.mondorescue.org/wiki/DistributionPackaging#InstallingfromYUM Bruno. -- HPE WW FLOSS Technology Strategist http://www.hpe.com/engage/opensource Open Source Profession, WW Linux Community Lead http://github.com/bcornec FLOSS projects: http://mondorescue.org http://project-builder.org Musique ancienne? http://www.musique-ancienne.org http://www.medieval.org |

My original errors I was seeing were fixed with this help guide - http://trac.mondorescue.org/changeset?old_path=%2Fbranches%2F3.2%2Fmindi%2Fmindi&old=3599&new_path=%2Fbranches%2F3.2%2Fmindi%2Fmindi&new=3599&sfp_email=&sfph_mail= <http://trac.mondorescue.org/changeset?old_path=/branches/3.2/mindi/mindi&old=3599&new_path=/branches/3.2/mindi/mindi&new=3599&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=> However, I have now run into a new issue: FATAL ERROR. Cannot loopmount /tmp/mondo.tmp.izdXjt/temp.rd to /tmp/mondo.tmp.izdXjt/mountpoint.122776! The reason may be missing support for loopfs or ext2 (or both) in the running kernel. I have attached my logs. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jessi |
