It appears that at some point, the debian version on the mondorescue ftp site changed numbering schemes, from (for example) 6.0 to 6. Was this intentional? If so, http://mondorescue.org/downloads.shtml should be updated. |

an update - after adding these directories /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/usb/host /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/crypto/crct10dif_common.ko /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/mmc/host /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/fs/fat /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/fs/ext4 /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/fs/ntfs to deplist.txt, and adding FORCE_MODS="usb_common usbcore ehci_hcd ehci_pci sdhci_pci sdhci crct10dif_common xhci_hcd" to mindi.conf, fdisk -l correctly shows the internal HDD, but still no luck mounting the USB. The usb controller normally uses xhci_hcd, but this module isn't present on the initrd. I thought it should be - it's located under /lib/modules/3.13-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/usb/host. Am I going about adding modules to the initrd the right way? Nothing encrypted here! Thanks for the idea on mods to try - to know those are missing, i suppose you have to know they exist in the first place, so thanks for the expertise. I added crct10dif_common, ehci_pci, sdhci_pc, sdhci, xhci_hcd and ehci_hcd to deplist.txt (using the full path to the .ko file) and added them to the FORCEMODS line in mindi.conf, but this didn't work either. fdisk -l still shows nothing! I appreciate the help, and wish I could be more helpful in return, but I'm having difficulty getting the restore log off the machine. I can't mount any devices, and I can't bring up a network interface to copy it over sshfs. Running ifconfig -a just shows the loopback interface, no eth0 is present to even try configuring. Any ideas on how I could get that detected so I could try getting the log off the machine? Hi All, Bruno updated ticket 735 a week or so ago saying he fixed the issue. I uninstalled and updated from the yum test repo. Are the fixes Bruno referred to packaged up anywhere yet? I updated the issue with a log file showing the failure in the latest build that YUM picked up. I'd really like to see this issue resolved. So if I can be pointed to where the latest build is that has the fix, that would be appreciated. Thanks!!! Corey. I just use the -k option because mindi can't find the kernel when it runs, so that saves me from having to type it in interactively. I redid it without -k and using -E to exclude everything but /etc, but I have the same result unfortunately. Checking the mondo-restore.cfg file on the usb, it does contain the line "usb-dev /dev/sdb". And strangely, when i check the mondorestore.log file, it shows the correct mondo-restore.cfg information! it shows the correct mountlist as well! how can this be if it can't find all.tar.gz, which contains them?!? I realize not much more can be diagnosed without looking at the mondorestore.log file. I can't easily pull it off, as I can't mount any devices, but I will try later to send it somewhere over ssh. Try without -k /boot/vmlinuz-3.13-1-amd64 and without -I /etc You can exclude through -E option what you don't want to backup. Which GNU/Linux distrib is it ? Also check the mondo-restore.cfg file of your backup, this file is in tmp directory (which is in the archive: images/all.tar.gz). You should see in it something like: usb-dev /dev/sdb backup-media-type usb At boot, check /var/log/mondorestore.log Rgds, Victor From: Will Hopper [mailto:wjh...@gm...] Sent: vendredi 21 mars 2014 16:26 To: Mondo mailing list Subject: Re: [Mondo-devel] Can't find all.tar.gz when restoring Here's the log of doing it with the -U option ( I canceled as earlier message because I forgot to compress it, sorry) On Fri, Mar 21, 2014 at 10:35 AM, Will Hopper <wjh...@gm...<mailto:wjh...@gm...>> wrote: Here's the log of doing it with the -U option On Fri, Mar 21, 2014 at 9:59 AM, Gattegno, Victor (GSD CSC / CPR&Q / GCC - ISS/SW Tower) <vic...@hp...<mailto:vic...@hp...>> wrote: Hi Will, Did you backuped directly to the USB device and used -U mondorachive option ? http://www.mondorescue.org/docs/mondoarchive.8.html usb=/dev/sdb should work. Hi Will, Did you backuped directly to the USB device and used -U mondorachive option ? http://www.mondorescue.org/docs/mondoarchive.8.html usb=/dev/sdb should work. Check mondoarchive.log or post it to the mailing-list. I'm using mondo 3.0.4-1, mindi 2.1.7-1, and mindi-busybox 1.18.5-3. When booting from the recovery usb, i get the "cant find /mnt/cdrom/images/all.tar.gz" message, presumably because the usb device cannot be found. I've solved this in the past by adding the "usb=/dev/sdx" option at the boot prompt, but that hasn't helped this time. Once I'm dropped in the the shell, the fdisk command is available, but fdisk -l has no output. I can't mount any USB devices manually either, I'm told "/dev/sdx is not a valid block device". Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? any modules I ought to force mindi to include? Hello, On the recent versions (kernel 3.x) we had to increae again these size, even more than you had: EXTRA_SPACE=120000 # increase if you run out of ramdisk space BOOT_SIZE=65600 # size of the boot disk is what I currently have. So try again with increased BOOT_SIZE, and also try updating mindi to 2.1.7 to see if things are better. Packages at ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/ubuntu/12.04/ Bruno.
