You need to know what drivers are needed for server B, and include them in the boot disk. See the FAQ here<http://trac.mondorescue.org/wiki/FAQ#Q41HowdoIsupportcloningtoadifferentsystem> for how to do it. Basically, add the names of the drivers to /etc/mindi/deplist.conf. Hi Bruno, >>Let me see if I can do it with too much difficulties. No pressure from this side :) >> Humm Why such an extreme ? This is how we still do it, since we started with Mondo Rescue without the -z option. >>However, on RHEL 5 you need 5.9 Nice, as that's the one we currently use. Stefan |

It's not a completely easy one, so I won't promise that. Let me see if I can do it with too much difficulties. > Or stick with 'touch /.autorelabel'? Humm Why such an extreme ? This bug will only generate the warnings mentioned, and potentially badmly restored /sys and .proc. But all the rest should be OK, so no need for autorelable. However, on RHEL 5 you need 5.9 as a bug on acls prevent a correct restoration before. Hi Bruno Thanks for the alert. I'm heavily committed for the next 2-3 days but will then test against the open tickets I have raised. Hopefully should have feedback early next week. I will try it I think that with the current mindi, just adding /bin/kmod should do it. Nex version will solve the issue that kmod is indeed a link but it's value pointed to is not included on the backup. I looked at the code and during the last 8 years it didn't cause any problem. But now is so I've made an adaptation for that. > I also attached the mindi log from this run so you can see the difference. > Just a note, could the problem have to do with symlinks? So it seems from your log that in fact the main missing dyn. lib. in this case is libkmod.so.2 (glibc is on the media from your log, even if place under .../cmov/i686/..., which shows this is not the main issue) What would be useful in addition to the info you gave would be the /var/log/mondoarchive.log file so I can see what is done during mindi's phase and either fix what isn't working or ask for more commands results. I'd propose an easier way: use rsync to just copy in an optimal fashion the parts linked to your app. Should be quicker. Or unison. > If this would be possible the differential backup should be allot quicker > and the total down time of the system could be greatly reduced. I must confess, I do not use differential backups. I know some on this list do, and seem to be happy with it. Now MondoRescue is really for DR/Cloning IMHO and the above mentioned method should be a good one.
