I'm trying to run a Mondo backup of Redhat6.9 virtualization machine running
in IBM Softlayer environment. 
but getting failed with below errors.

Helo Bruno,

I changed the directory to save the image on /home  directory which still
has enough space. The free space is  and when I run again the command
mondoarchive I got a different error below.

I don't understand, when I try to google I see other post with this error
when they try to mount a usb device on a server. But it did not get any link
related to mondorescue. Please help me to fix this issue.

Hummm, in fact in your case it is worse to increase that size as you're
probably limited by the size of your /tmp !
/dev/sda8     ext3	376807     43968    313383  13% /tmp

So you should use the -T option of mondoarchive to redirect temp files to
another dir with more room in it (/var/tmp seems to be a good candidate) or
reduce the EXTRA_SPACE to under 300 MB and see if that's enough to build the
boot env.

With the way it's done now, no it's not possible. -E only works for directories, and there is no other option for files.
Any way to isolate the files in different dirs on your side ? (you may reconcile that with symlinks). I know it's not a solution, but a workaround.

Ok, so this is a pretty old one. Which was working fine in the past.

Ok. So I'll try to see whether there could be a regression linked to Debian somewhere causing the error you're seeing.
Again, while I do most of my tests on RHEL/SLES, we have lots of users using MondoRescue on other distros, including Debian.
I'll come back to you when I find something relevant.

My server is running Debian 6.0.10 and the kernel version is 2.6.38.8. On
the link you shared with me I don't see any similar case to mine. However, I
managed to run mondoresue on one of the centos server and I was able to
create the image. Does mondo work on Debian as well? Because I tried it on
two different servers running Debian in vain.
