Dear , Bruno:
We are try to use Mondo Restore in Nuke mode ;
We want to find out how is the way for Nuke mode work ;
Can u tell us the whole process for Nuke mode ?
Which exec script do the nuke mode use to start-up ?
Where is the config file lies in ?
How to use the command of "mondorestore" in text way , and the parameters that the commad use ;
Can you give us some examples?
Thank you very much ;
Best wish for you !

I know I didn't solve it before stopping to take care more of my health. >I'm attaching mondoarchive log and mindi.log. Unfortunately I don't know >how to get more info from the restore op as it gets stuck on the begining. Some ideas to look at: The kernel should boot with that boot line: kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 rw ramdisk_size=188008 interactive devfs=nomount noresume selinux=0 barrier=off udevtimeout=10 However, originally you had : ro root=UUID=7ef09a22-b2c5-4f7a-9b22-2bb6cd01bdbf rd_NO_LUKS LANG=en_US.UTF-8 KEYBOARDTYPE=pc KEYTABLE=es rd_NO_MD SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 crashkernel=133M@48M rd_NO_LVM rd_NO_DM audit =1 elevator=deadline So maybe one of the parameter could be removed (barrier=off typically) or changed (try to increase ramdisk_size). Use the /etc/mindi/mindi.conf file and change MINDI_ADDITIONAL_BOOT_PARAMS or try at restore time directly modifying the boot options. It seems to be linked to the way the kernel is booted (may also be a port redirection for display even if I didn't see anything related to that) I can try to reproduce, but I'm still not full time on work, so it will take a bit of time, before I get to that on my TODO list sorry :-( Best regards, Bruno. -- HPE WW FLOSS Technology Strategist http://www.hpe.com/engage/opensource Open Source Profession, WW Linux Community Lead http://github.com/bcornec FLOSS projects: http://mondorescue.org http://project-builder.org Musique ancienne? http://www.musique-ancienne.org http://www.medieval.org |

Hello Mondorescuers ! We usually use MondoRescue and it has worked like a charm in every system we have tried it. Recently we are testing on BL460c Gen9 / RHEL 6.9 with UEFI boot. The installed stack is: mondo-3.2.2-1.rhel6.x86_64 mindi-busybox-1.21.1-1.rhel6.x86_64 mindi-3.0.2-1.rhel6.x86_64 Mondorescue finishes OK and the generated iso boots right in my laptop (with VirtualBox it starts correctly) When testing the image on the Blade the principal Mondo menu appears. When choosing nuke the server the server starts but it keeps frozen in : Trying to allocate 1043 pages for VMLINUZ [Linux-EFI, setup=0x1076, size=0x4127b01] And stays there until the server is automatically rebooted (after > 10 minutes) I'm attaching mondoarchive log and mindi.log. Unfortunately I don't know how to get more info from the restore op as it gets stuck on the begining. I checked that SecureBoot is disabled on the bios settings. Thank you very much for your help and support ! Best Regards, rafa |

Hello, aaaaaarko said on Wed, Oct 31, 2018 at 10:20:47PM -0700: >i am getting the below error in log while trying to take mondo >backup.Please advise. log.zip ><http://mondorescue-mailing-list.679749.n3.nabble.com/file/t496316/log.zip> Thanks for the logs. You seem to miss a perl package: Can't locate ProjectBuilder/Base.pm So you should install ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/rhel/5/i386/perl-ProjectBuilder-0.14.6-1.rhel5.noarch.rpm Seems also there is an issue on RHEL 5 (this is not a supported version anymore by Red Hat, BTW) with using option -n of cp which doesn't seem to exist. Are you up to date with your RHEL 5 ? Does your cp command have a --no-clobber option ? (provide cp --help so we can check).
