Law is the set of agreements that establish permissible behavior.

This desire to occupy and officially claim Greenland as US sovereign territory undermines this "contract" that exists among nations, and for that reason it is a symptom of weakness.

The fear seems to be that if we do not have total control of Greenland that we will lose strategic advantage down the line. The fear seems to be that someday we WON'T be able to push Denmark around if we need to. It smacks of desperation, which is why Trump's megalomania is an excellent cover, from the point of view of those who run America.

The intention is to send a message, if you don't collaborate, we will impose our will by force. Greenland, like Venezuela, is an "easy" way to demonstrate this.

The danger is that lawlessness will make future agreements perilous for the United States.

Machiavelli warned that making foreign policy according to moral norms can result in a worse consequence than policy based on amorality. Christianity can not be based on morality because of the Law of Unintended consequences, foreign policies are based on "reasons of the state" not morality, and morality is often used as a pretense to fool other states.

Take marital divorce on the micro level for example. How many marriages go wrong despite good and moral intentions, how incompatibilities are not easily recognizable, infidelity can sometimes help a marriage to stay together, the marriage could have been initially based on religious morality instead of a prenuptial agreement and most divorces are caused by money issues not entirely in control of married couples. But second marriages have a much better likelihood of lasting.

It is Trump's second term and he has been pro-active to not repeat being controlled as he was in the first term. If there is a moral lesson for the young generation it might be to base a marriage, or voting and political decisions, on respect and secure finances than morality and "love". But you won't find that in religious scriptures, cultural norms, or even marital therapy that psychologizes everything. Truth is found outside ourselves not within. I found this article disappointing and not addressing Realism as an antidote. But Crooke is British and I have no trust in Brits who have manipulated the US into two devastating wars and a shot gun political "marriage" with Israel.

Manifest destiny was a specific geopolitical conception. Roughly, the idea was, start on the East Coast along a line from New England to Georgia and continue west until y0u hit salt water again. Manifest destiny was fulfilled by 1850. Subsequent to that, in the arc of world history, Alaska and Hawaii fell to the United States. Stop there. No new states. No new territories. No vote plantations in the Caribbean or anywhere. Just stop.

As an ignoramus, I find it astonishing how much attention religious topics still attract. Without getting bogged down in subtleties, I would like to note three personal insights:
Firstly, religions serve to create homogeneous communities (team building).
Second, young people and those who need spiritual guidance like to seek out a figure to whom they can look up. Whether it's George Clooney or Taylor Swift, Saint Roch, Father Pius or Saint Catherine of Siena, Hercules, Dionysus or whoever else serves as a projection screen, the need for a Big Brother in a figurative sense seems to be a very human trait.
In Europe, for instance, there are many examples where existing deities or nature spirits were given a new identity in the form of saints and continued to be worshipped under different names.
Incidentally, the witch hunts in the Middle Ages were not carried out by the Catholic Church, which rejected such superstitions. Nevertheless, this topic became a favourite with the so-called Enlightenment and served primarily to undermine the authority of the Roman Church and prepare the ground for the first coup of the modern era, namely the French Revolution. There have been further attempts, the next big success being the Bolshevik coup and the assassination of the czar and his family (who by now are venerated as holy martyrs).
The subversion of the existing order, the bloody chaos that followed, and the emergence of a new elite have been repeated ever since. This new elite (if it was ever elected at all) gave itself several new labels until it currently presents itself as globalists/liberals, etc. "You will own nothing, and we will be happy" (I'm misquoting the WEF).

Thirdly, it is my conviction that Christianity arose rather by chance, as a by-product of the (failed) attempt to reform Judaism. When Jesus tried to impart new ideals (based on the model of Zoroastrianism) to a morally degenerate people, he endangered the power of the scribes. The rabbis feared for their authority and for the absolute power with which they managed their community, also for their income from temple offerings and from interest-based economy.
They had to prevent this reform at all costs and erase any memory of it, which is why, according to their account, Jesus is subjected to particularly disgusting treatment in the lowest level of hell. At the same time, his followers are seen as cattle to be exploited. Having escaped reform and with God no longer imposing biblical punishments upon them, they continued to develop in the same direction until the present day.

Looking back, I can't see the appeal of classical antiquity. There were a few individuals who did well and squandered their wealth shamelessly. After the end of the Roman Republic, there was no longer a middle class; the citizens became impoverished and turned into proletarians. The government kept them happy with bread and circuses – sounds familiar, doesn't it, with TikTok and junk food?
Christianity, apart from weird mysticism and folkloric peculiarities, protects private property and the biological family. Always remember that before you deny its right to exist.

1. My sister was fired/quit after being accused of calling someone a nigger. She had worked there for close to 15 years. She got along with everyone and would never use the word nigger, but the accusation was enough to lose her job. All 8 of the HR dept is black.
2. My friend's husband was forced out of his job by blacks. He was the last White driver that was employed in that company.
He said it was hell working with blacks as the only White guy. I believe him as I have been the White minority. My friend? she is angry at her husband for quitting.
He told her you are self employed and I notice that you have NO black clients, not one. You don't know what it is like to have to interact all day every day with black people when you are the only White.
She still believes "skin colour doesn't matter". LOL Needless to say I limit my interactions with that particular friend. I feel sorry for her husband. I have spoken to her before about racial demographics but she just thinks I am a racist, which I am. She won't hear anything I'm saying. She also won't hear her husband. I guess it has to touch her more directly for her to understand " your most precious possession is your own people".

So why not aim at exceeding 90! Sure, many conditions in the world are far from good. Stick around if you can, and see what happens. Sure, trends are generally bad, but if your brain and body can last, it is better than if not.

I had a close friend who used to say 'I want to see what happens next' as her motto. Instead of following her own advice, she self-chose death well before forty. Too bad. Mainly from too many pills. Self-sought by her, touring multiple clinics to get multiple prescriptions.

She would claim that the doctors were trying to kill her, but it was plainly nonsense. She, though being very good at presenting herself as sane and even happy most of the time, clearly had some kind of deep mental illness.

Among the myriad things that I could care less to see, a “back story” for the The Wizard of Oz, has to be high on that list. This movie was old, the day I was born, and while I recognize it’s role in the history of cinema… geez, who gives a shit!?
 

My mother loved The Wizard of Oz and we had to watch it when it came on once a year. We only had 1 TV in those days. I thought it blew dead dogs even as a yute. Judy Garland was way too old for the part, and the whole thing was stupid even to me as a kid.

SJP was my go-to example of Hollywood Jew tribalism until I had some work experience and then read that she really, really wanted to act, and would do anything to act, and was an ideal hire who would actually show up on time (this is apparently some sort of huge issue in show business), and be nice to the craft service people, and do everything she was asked to do. The "Bible" and its contents are are tales of sound and fury, sophomoric in the extreme and a millstone around the neck of human development. Transcendence of the material is to be found in other metaphysics, those that do without childish anthropomorphic fairy tales. Foremost of the scientific killers was Charles Darwin. His teachings are not "the message that is heard by more in every new generation," quite the opposite. The above is just my opinion. It is worth pointing out that Claude Levi-Strauss thought that the trend over millennia of history was toward greater religious fanaticism. In Tristes Tropiques, he wrote that Buddhism had banished superstition from this world and the next, Christianity had restored superstition in the afterlife, and that Islam had restored superstition to both this world and the next.

Religious fanaticism is a civilized thing, something for a leisured class in the Veblenian view. Every cow mocks the Sabbath. If the blessings of technology relieve the people of the burden of interacting with harsh physical reality, it makes arbitrary religious authority more believable. If technology advances such that the people become useless eaters dependent on charity, they will have nothing better to do than turn their attention to spiritual matters. This is already happening in Israel with the Haredim.

It is plausible that a more powerful State, with communication technology to reach into every living room and every pocket, can be used to indoctrinate more effectively than ever before, and that religion will prove useful to the rulers. The end state of mankind, instead of world Communism like Orwell expected, could turn out to be fundamentalism.

We may all agree that a Stalin or Pol Pot was a monster, but how is it that the very people who did the physical act of killing, maiming, destroying infrastructure, etc, the soldiers, the police, the security guards, call them what you will, get a pass by the bulk of the population? How is it that the actual killers get labeled as ‘veterans’ and that term cleanses their activities to the point that their murders become noble and deserving of a life long pension?

I don't agree that Pol Pot and Stalin were monsters. Stalin pursued a bad economic policy aggravated by Western blockade. Pot Pot saved millions from starvation by killing thousands of work shirkers and saboteurs. I have not voted since 2004 and will never vote for a political candidate again. Refusing to vote has nothing to do with defeatism, because it is futile, or any other of the specious claims which the author presented. It is a moral, conscious decision on my part to stand for what I believe to be true and right.

Voting is participating in an evil system known as "government" which is based on theft, fraud, and force. Since everything government does stems from these, it is rationally coherent and consistent to argue that a vote in favor of any person, policy, or program is also a conscious choice to steal, defraud, and force others into a pattern of living that you approve of. There is nothing in life which can be separated from this. IF you vote, you are attempting to control and order the lives of other people, which is an immoral action. The fact that your attempt at control is done by proxy and with the consent, cooperation, and collaboration of multiple others does not excuse your own actions nor make them right.

IF I love my neighbor as I love myself (Matthew 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27), then I am compelled to abstain from voting to force any particular policy on him BECAUSE I love myself and do not want my neighbor to forcibly intervene in my own life. I want my neighbor to let me live my life the way I want so long as I am not harming anyone else and it logically follows that I MUST accord him the same liberty. Voting flies in the face of that principle and if I am consistent with my philosophy, then I will adhere to it, no matter what it costs.

There is one other reason why people vote. It is because they are afraid. Fear. Voting is almost universally done, not for some positive benefit, but out of a sense of potential harm which might accrue if the "right" person is not tapped to forestall the danger. Consider the ads. They are almost always negative and constantly are pushing people to vote against someone or something because he or she will be disastrous for us. Fear is the unspoken driver behind every single negative political ad and the voting public eats it up.

Conquer the fear. Do not be afraid. Learn to love. It is only through the deliberate adoption of these practices that a person becomes truly free.
