That is something I never understand with much of the “whites only” crowd. I have no problem if they want to make their migration laws like that. I was just reading about the Enclosure Act where land that peasants had for centuries grazed their livestock on was suddenly converted to "private" land. There are families in western Africa today who are wealthy from the slave trade. Many of the kings benefited from slavery and many members of the ruling class today are descendants of slave traders. It was very profitable. I read about a woman in Africa whose family became very rich from the slave trade. She recounted her father's recollections and letters of his father and grandfather and their ancestor's involvement in the trade. He would not apologize for what his ancestors did and did not say that it wrong.

If it was publicly revealed to most white people that their ancestors were slave owners they would at least be ashamed and not want that information to be known. I used to watch that show Finding Your Roots with Henry Gates. There were several famous people who looked up their family history and found out that their families were slave owners. They were very upset by this news and said that what was done was terrible and completely unacceptable. Most whites in the western world have been brought up to believe in the sanctity and importance of the human right to life and liberty and the fundamental dignity of each person.

Looks like the Algerian kid was known unto the law. 17 driving without a licence in a car he did not own. Made good.
