We took a family trip to Spain and Portugal over the Christmas and New Year holidays for two weeks. This was my first extended stay in Spain since 1997 when I spent a semester as an exchange student at the IESE school in Barcelona. It’s good to be back at the desk at home. My...
  • Comparing Chinese printing process with European printing press BEFORE the Industrial Revolution.

European printing press was very time-consuming to operate because heavy platen at the end of the long screw, had to move down by turning a handle that was attached to the screw to press the inked paper and then the screw had to come back up for the next printing.

On th other hand,Chinese printing PROCESS was done by inking the MOVABLE TYPE with horse -hair brush first and then setting the paper firmly over the inked type and sweeping the back of paper with un -inked brush. Then it’s done, printed. It’s very simple and fast and efficient.

So while the Chinese printing PROCESS could print FIVE sheets of paper, the European printing PRESS would be lucky to print ONE sheet of paper. Jesuit missionaries in China said the Chinese printing PROCESS was efficient and had many advantages over the European printing PRESS.

I’ll quote from page 184 of The Eastern Origins Of Western Civilization by John M.Hobson.

“Moreever it is interesting to note that it was ONLY in the 19th century that the European printing press became fastter than it’s Asian counterparts-up until then it (European printing press, emphasis mine) remained a SLOW and EXPENSIVE form of reproducing texts”.

According to professor Thomas Chritensen of Columbia University,
the Jesuit missionary Matteo Ricci noted in the early seventeenth century that Chinese cutter could produce wood blocks as quickly as European typesetters could make up their pages.

What’s more, the woodblocks could be stored for LATER use, unlike the printers’ forms used in the West, which were disassembled and the type returned to its cases when the printing had been completed.

Woodblock technology also facilitated book illustration, which was far more advanced, and more common, in China than in the the West.

I’ll quote from page 126 of The Genius of China by Robert Temple.
For MOVABLE TYPE printing, Chinese used “a wheel- shaped rotating case for the classified storage of fonts of movable type. all the characters are cast into metal fonts and stored according to their rhyming spoken sounds, in 24 compartments, consisting of 8 inner ones and 16 outer ones. BY spinning the compositor’s wheel around, the pieces of type were accessed according to this
EASY system for making SPEEDY typesetting”.

This what Wikipedis says aout Eropean printing press “At the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, the mechanics of the hand-operated Gutenberg-style press were still essentially UNCHANGED, although new materials in its construction, amongst other innovations, had gradually improved its printing efficiency.”

So even BEFORE the Industrial Revolution, the printing press was SLOW and LABOR-intensive, with speed and scalability improving ONLY gradually after Gutenberg’s invention.

The Jesuits in China were right, the Chinese printing system was much more efficient than the European printing press BEFORE the Industrial Revolution.

But Industrial Revolution changed all that. With the coming of the STEAM-POWERED printing press in the 19th century, the European printing press was finally more efficient than the Chinese printing process.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you, debating what was better the Roman civilization or the Chinese. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt saying that the Chinese had developed an advanced civilization in their own right after their own needs. The Romans and Greeks developed civilizations according to their own needs. There are certain things in which the Romans and Greeks were unmatched in the world, and one of them is architecture. I would encourage you to go to Europe and stand in the Pantheon and look up at the occulus, go to Pompei and Herculaneum and go to France and see the Pont du Gard with it's magnificent arches. In closing, all I will say is that China and Rome were two radically different civilizations who each excelled in certain areas but comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges.

Comparing Han Dynasty to ancient Roman Empire is more like comparing America to Brazil in our times, the Han Dynaty being America and Rome being Brazil. I’m being very generous here in my comparison.

Han Dynasty and Roman Empire were roughly compariable in population and the size of territory, But Han Dynasty could produce a lot MORE grain than the Romans due to it’s superior agricultural technology and it means Han Dynasty could raise a lot more troops armed than the Romans could.
Also Han Dynasty had far superior technology and bureacracy than the Roman Empire did.

Also Romans never built any thing like the world -famous Dujiangyan irrigation and flood control system that China built in the 3rd century BC that is still used for the same purpose.
There are a lot more of great ancient Chinese civil engenering achievements. besides Qing Great Wall or Han Great Wall.

There is a huge difference between ancient Chinese and Greeks and Romans
The ancient Chiese created their own ORIGINAL civilization WITHOUT borrowing from outsiders.
On the other hand, ancient Greeks created a basically COPY-CAT civilization and Romans in turn copied from the Greeks.

The Greeks were the BIGGEST COPYCATS in the ancient world.

The Greek civilization was heavily influenced by both Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations ( Greek myths and religion had their roots in various Mesopotamian and Egyptian beliefs).. The Greek ARCHETECTURE was adopted from Egypt.

The following information can be found by reading about Babylonia in Wikipedia.

Ancient Greeks extensively COPIED Babylonians ( the ancestors of the present day Arabs) for it’s astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, etc.

For example, such Greek astronomers and mathematicians as Hipparchus. Ptolemy were greatly influenced by PREVIOUS Babylonian studies.

The Babylonian text, Dialogue of Pessimism written in about 1000 BC, CONTAINS similarities to the agnostic thought of the Greek sophists, the Heraclitean doctrine of contrasts, and the dialogs of Plato, as well as a precursor to maieutic Socratic method of Socrates (born 470 BC).

Also Milesian philosopher Thales studied philosophy in Mesopotamia.
The early treatises of the Hippocratic Corpus show the INFLUENCE of Babylonian medicine in terms of both content and form.
Even Greek alphabet was based on the NON- European Semitic Phoenician alphabet.

On the other hand, unlike Greeks, the ancient Chinese ORIGINALLY developed their astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, ON THEIR OWN without BORROWING from OUTSIDERS.

During this ancient time period, there were a lot of ORIGINAL Chinese thinkers such as Confucius, Laozi, Mozi, Zhangzi, Mencius, Sun Tsu, etc who created Confucianism, Taoism, Mohism, The Art of War,etc.

In agricultral technology, ancient Chinese were far ahead of Romans.

For example, the Roman plows both light “aratrum” and the wheeled plows were poorly designed and inefficient.
The aratrum was only effective in lighter soils but struggled in heavier, clay-rich soils, which were common in many regions
And the Roman wheeled- plows were very inefficient in rocky or muddy or uneven terrain.

On the other hand, China already developed iron plow in the 6th century BC when Greeks had MOSTLY wooden plows and in the 3rd centyry BC China invented a mellable (non-brittle) cast iron plow and also in around the 2nd century BC, China developed a plow with curved mouldboard.
Mouldboards were not known in Europe until the Middle Ages.

So unlike the light Roman plows, the advanced heavier Chinese cast iron plows with curved-moulboard can work in all kinds of soils.

Roman farmers scattered seeds by hand so that many of the seeds would be blown away by winds or eaten by birds and many times unevenly distributed over the soil.

On the other hand, China invented the multi-tube (modern) seed drill in the 2nd century BC that could be pulled by oxen or horse , dribbles the seed at controlled rate into a straight row.
Europe got a very inefficient single-tube seed drill only in the 16th century.

From the ancient times, China practiced row cultivation of crops and horse-drawn intense hoeing but Europe only got this know-how in the early i8tn country. Also in the Roman times, Chinese horse harnesses were a lot better than Roman ones.

I want to mention one more thing about Chinese and Roman plows.

Ancient Chinese plows had DEPTH-ADJUSTING mechanism that precisely regulated the plowing depth by altering the distance between the blade and the beam

On the other hand, Roman farmers could adjust the depth of furrow by leaning more or less HEAVILY on the beam of plow that was extremely physically tiring and Europeans got the depth-adjusting plow mechanism only AFTER the Middle Ages.

Romans used THROAT-and girth-harness that severely CHOCKED the horse.
But China used the trace harness, with it’s breast strap since the 4th cntury BC.
The horse could exert itself with this harness since the pressure is on the chest bone rather than the throat. The load is borne by the skeletal system rather than it’s WINDPIPE.

Also BEFORE the 1st century BC, China invented the most advanced harness, namely the horse collar (modern horse collar). A horse equiped with Chinese trace harness or horse collar could pull 10 times more loads than a Roman horse with the THROAT-and -girth harness.

You can find all this information in The Genius of China by Robert Temple.
Also according to S.A.M. Adshead, a respected Sinologist, ancient Chinese grain yields were 8 times bigger than those of Roman Empire

Because there was a need, one or a number of people came up with the idea of printing. "Necessity is the mother of invention", as Thomas Edison is credited with having said.

Rome didn't have this need, they had the brains, but if someone had come up with printing, it would've been considered a curiosity and nothing more. Romans had a need for a cement that hardened underwater, they created glass, their architecture was unmatched in its sophistication, their weapons were extremely sophisticated because a need had developed for all these things.

Comparing Roman aqueduct with ancient Chinese aqueduct.

Both Roman and ancient Chinese aqueducts relied heavily on gravity, utilizing extensive networks of tunnels, channels and bridges with arches distributing weight evenly.

In building aqueducts, Romans mainly used stone, brick, concrete and Chinese used stone, brick, concrete, rammed earth.

For piping, Romans mostly used LEAD, earthenware, wood (mostly pine).
Chinese used waterproof stoneware, earthenware, bamboo tube.

Throughout the course of an aqeduct, both Romans and Chinese stationed layers of sand and gravel as natural filters at intervals to purify water.

But unlike Roman aqueducts whose main purpose was supplying drinking water to urban dwellers, the ancient Chinese aqueduct sysiem not only supplied drinking water to city people but also incorporated irigation canals to supply water to agricultral areas.

Also at the terminal station of an aqueduct, ancient Chinese used ALUM to purufy the water again.
The Romans didn’t use any chemicals to purify their aqueduct water at the terminal stations.
Also ancient Chinese medical texts state that LEAD is bad for health and that’s why they DIDN’T use LEAD pipes.

On the other hand, Romans DIDN’T know LEAD is had for their health. That’s why Romans unknowingly used LEAD pipes for aqueducts.

When all is said and done, Chinese aqueduct water was much safer to drink than that of Roman aqueduct also unlike Roman aqueducts that served only city people,Chinese aqueducts supplied not only drinking water to city people but also irrigation water to farmers in rular areas.

Comparing the ancient Chinese roads to the Roman roads.

You can find the following information on pages 1-2 of The Shorter Sciencee and Civilization in China:3 by Colin A. Ronan.

The ancient Romans used stones to build their roads. But the Roman roads had big problems in the summer and the winter because in the summer when the temperature was hot, the ground below the layer of roadstones will EXPAND while the roadstones themselves did not expand thus creating wide spaces between the roadstones.

On the other hand, in the winter, the ground under the stones will CONTRACT thus making the roadstones colliding with each other so that it was very hard to travel on them in the summer and the winter.

Starting in about the 9th century BC, ancient China built so-called WATER-BOUND macadam roads. that were more like modern asphalt gravet roads in some rural areas and they were thinner and more elastic because they were built with a rubble sub-base onto which a layer of finely tamped gravel was added to produce a ‘water- bound macadam (water mixed with light brown soil (loess) that had CEMENTING qualities, was sprayed on the surface of the gravel road as a binding agent)..

These Chinese macadam roads could EXPAND in the summer and CONTRACT in the winter with the GROUND below them so that these smooth gravel roads could stay intact regardless of temperature changes.. Europe only got their own macadam roads in the 19th century.
That’s about 2800 years after China got it’s own macadam roads !!! This time lag is NO exaggeration.

  • Ancient China was much more advanced in TECHNOLOGY than either Greeks or Romans.

China aready had the technology to MELT iron ore to make cast iron in the 5th centuty BC but Europe only got the cast iron technology in the 12th century. The time lag is 1700 years !!!

China could produce steel from cast iron aka Bessemer steel process in thr 2nd century BC, But Europe got Bessemer process ONLY in the 19th century. The time lag is more han 2000 years !!!

For the transmission of Besemer steel process to America from China, read Wiliam Kelley (engineer) in Wikipedia.

China also produced co-fusion steel process by combining cast iron and wrought iron aka Siemens-Martin steel prucess but Europe got this process ONLY in the 19th century.

China invented the compass in the 4th century BC but Europe only got the compass in the 12th century,
In ceramics.Greeks and Roman s ONLY used NON-WATERPROOF earthenware but China already had the 100% WATERPROOF stoneware in the 13th century BC .Europe ONLY got the stoneware in the 17th century.

China also invented the porcelain in the 1st century BC but Europe only could poroduce the porcelain in the 18th century.

In textiles. Greeks and Romans could only use simple and time-consumimg relatively primitive VERTICAL WARP-WEIGHED LOOM but China already invented very sophisticated DRAWLOOM in the 4th century BC. but Europe got the drawloom only in the 12th century.

Also in the 2nd century BC, Chinese developed more advanced Jacquard loom that was operated on BINARY PROGRAMMABLE systen based on numbers 0 and 1. This sophisticated loom technology was also transmitted to Italy in the 15th century.

Very recently this Chinese loom is considered world’s FIRST computer by many scholars and exports because it used the software called pattern cards just like the punch cards of the modern computer based on binary programming. This Chinese loom cum binary ( digital) “computer” is MORE advanced than the Greek Antikythera device that is supposed to be LESS advanced analog “computer”, was invented a few decades or even centuries LATER than the Chinse “computer”.
    .
In shipbuilding, China invented the RUDDER in the firsst century AD. But Europe got the rudder ONLY in the 12th century.
China developed multiple -mast system (more than 3 masts) in the 2nd century AD but Europe only got the multiple- mast system only in the 14th century.

China developed advanced lug sail in th 3rd century but Europe got it only in the late 15th century.

China also invented BLOCKHEAD WATERTIGHT COMPARTMENTS in the 2nd cemtury AD but Europe only got watertight compartments ONLY in the LATE 18th century.

China also invented PAPER in the 1st century BC but Eueopeans could only produce paper ONLY in the 12th century.

China also drilled for NATURAL GAS in the 4th century BC. At this time, China transmitted NATURAL GAS through bamboo PIPELINES for heating and lighting,
Europe started using natural gas ONLY in the 19th century

Also China invented DEEP-DRILLING for OIL in the 1st centyry BC but Europe started for deep-drilling for oil ONLY in the 19th century AFTER it got the technology from China.

Han Dynasty military was more powerful than that of Roman Empire. According to Ralph D. Sawyer, a well-respected expert on ancient Chinese military, states that ancient Chinese military science was light years ahead of Western practicies.

When Greeks were struggling to escape the confining nature of PHALANX and it’s single tactic of mass collision, China had already perfected numerous formations and methods of tactical deployment and strategies written in Art of The War by Sun Tsu in the 5th century BC.

Also Han Dynasty had the weapons that Romans didn’t have such as powerful crossbows,
recurved bows. On the other hand, as range weapons, Romans had relatively weak longbows, slngshots. javelins.

The arrows from the powerful Chinese crossbows and recurved bows would have no problem penetrating the Roman legianaires’shields and armor in the testudo formations. We should remember that Parthian horseback archers with recurved bows decimated the Roman legionaires in 53 BC in the Battle of Carrhae.

Also due to the fact that Han Dynasty had superior metallurgical technology, it produced better weapons than Romans.

According to Joseph Needham, the renowned Sinologist,China invented the trebuchet in the 4th century BC that could trow heavier stones at longer distances than Roman catapult.could.

Also Roman cavalry was handicaped due to the fact that it’s use of THROAT -and-girth harrness that CHOCKED the horse so that Roman cavalry horses couldn’t gallop while Han Dynasty cavalry horses that were equipped with TRACE HARNESS could gallop.

So in a battle against Han troops, Roman legionaires would be overwhelmed by the barrages of arrows from powerful Han Chinese crossbows and recurved bows and after that Han cavalry would mop up the remaining Roman troops.

You said”Rome didn’t have this need, they had the brains” . No man , Romans had slaves but no brains. All the hard work was done by slaves so that they didn’t have urgent need to innovate.

Ancient Chinese had used cement about 5000 years ago long before Romans did

You said “their architecture was unmatched in its sophistication, their weapons were extremely sophisticated because a need had developed for all these things.ur their architecture was unmatched in its sophistication, their weapons were extremely sophisticated because a need had developed for all these things.”

You are talking nonsense here. Romans never built anything like the original Qin Great Wall or Han Great Wall that extended the original Qin Great Wall to about 6000 miles more than 2000 years ago. On the other hand, Romans built only the pitiful 70 mile- long Hadrian’s Wall. lol !!!

Also the Mayan Indians in the central America in the same time period built much more massive and beauriful STONE buildings than Romans did.

Also Roman weapons were pitiful compared to Han Chinese weapons. Han troops used powerful crossbows and RECURVED bows that could have decimated poorly armed the Roman legionaires who didn’t have either powerful crossbows or RECURVED bows.

You said” Isn’t China’s sophisticated bureaucracy what put it to sleep for 1000 years?

Now you are really showing true ignorance.

China have had always sophicated bureacracy based on merit throughout the history that still plays the utmost important role in the modern China’s governance. Europeans adopted the merit-based Chinese- style bureacracy only in the 19th or 20th century.

For your information, from ancient times to the Industrial Revolution, China was way ahead of Europe, especially in technology. Also in the same time peridd, China and India were two biggest economies in the world.

Now China is in process of being the technology and economic superpower again as it usedt be.

According to Anthony Francois Paulus Hulsewe, a prominent Dutch expert on ancient Chinese law, Han dynasty had a sophisticated law code that had more than 26,000 articles written in about 7,700,000 words that clearly outlined punishments. and there were about 500 articles on the death penalty alone which included almost 1,900 offenses and about 3,500 pieces of case law.

Also according to Science and Civilization in China volume 6 part 4 by Joseph Needham and Nathan Sivin,
ancient Chinese courts practiced forensic medicine from at the latest 3rd century BC long before the West ( although Hippocratic corpus mentioned forensic science, there is no record of ancient Greek courts’ having practiced it).

According to Angus Maddison a well- respected economic historian, Han dynasty had a bigger economy than the Roman Empire also the preeminent Sinologist, Joseph Needham stated that Han dynasty had been wealhier than Roma Empire.

I’m going to paraphrase and quote from THE ART OF THE STATE by Christopher Hood, a prominent British scholar specializing in analysis of various government systems to prove that Chinese Han Dynasty had MUCH MORE SOPHISTICATED breaucracy than Roman Empire did.

“According to Max Weber a great social scientist, a MODERN state MUST have the FULLY formed MODERN BUREAUCRACY that clearly establishes official duties, elaborate rules governing the exercise of authority, continuous and regular performance of tasks by staff appointed on the regulated qualifications”. “Han Dynasty of more than 2000 years AGO that had much MORE complex and SOPHISTICATED bureaucracy THAN the IMPERIAL Rome, met Weber’s criterion for the modern state”.

“Starting from the middle of the 2nd century BC, Han Dynasty implemented the CIVIL SERVICE examination that was rooted in winnowing-down MERITOCRATIC system. It’s officials operated under clearly defined duties and rules. For CHECKS and BALANCES, Han dynasty had the institutional system that EVEN APPLIED to the EMPEROR. The dynasty had an OFFICE of INSPECTOR GENERAL that had “the power to IMPEACH officials, inspect their efficiency and integrity and criticize the policies of topmost officials or EVEN of the emperor”

So we can say Han Dynasty had been a MODERN state LONG before any Western country became one.

The Egyptian wood-block prints that are shown at British Museum displays are typically dated to the mid-14th century AD, with specimens excavated at Faiyum and believed to originate around the 1300s. That places them roughly 650–700 years old.

According to lockwoodonlinejorum; Gliding Textiles and Printing Blocks in Ten Century Egypt

Current evidence places the APPERANCE of wooden block printing in Egypt around the 10th century AD.

    “EXTREMELY SIMILAR to Gutenberg’s.

A simple problem for you: if they were so extremely similar, how come Gutenberg's was 50-60 times faster? :)

    Replies: @tamo

You said “A simple problem for you: if they were so extremely similar, how come Gutenberg’s was 50-60 times faster?”

You are full of nonsense here. It’s more likely the other way around. I’ll explain to you. So you pay attention.
The printing expert Henry-Jean Martin said the Chinese-Korean MOVABLE TYPE was EXTREMELY SIMILIAR to Gutenberg’s MOVABLE TYPE that was built about 70 years LATER.

So both MOVABLE TYPES were extremely similar. But the difference was that Gutenberg’s movable type was paired with a PRESS while Chinese movable type was NOT paired a PRESS.

Gutenberg’s printing PRESS was very cumbersome and inefficient due to it’s PRESS.

Gutenberg used old Roman-style WINE-PRESS for his printing PRESS. It was very time-consuming to operate because heavy platen at the end of the long screw, had to move down by turning a handle that was attached to the screw to press the inked paper and then the screw had to come back up for the next printing.

Gutenberg’s so -called mechanized printing PRESS was composed of MOVABLE TYPE and PRESS.. The most important part of Gutenberg’s printing press was the MOVABLE TYPE , NOT the PRESS..

Chinese printing PROCESS of inking the MOVABLE TYPE with horse -hair brush first and then set the paper firmly over the inked type and sweep the back of paper with un -inked brush then it’s done, printed. It’s a very simple and fast but efficient.

Compared to the Chinese printing PROCESS , Gutenberg’s printing PRESS was very time-consuming process. While the Chinese printing PROCESS could print 5 sheets of paper, the Gutenberg’s printing PRESS would be lucky to print 1 sheet of paper. Jesuit missionaries in China said the Chinese printing PROCESS had many advantages over the Gutenberg’s printing PRESS

But the Industrial Revolution changed all that. With the coming of the STEAM-POWERED printing PRESS in the 19th century, the European printing PRESS was finally more efficient than the Chinese printing PROCESS.

According to Henri-Jean Martin (16 January 1924 – 13 January 2007) who was a leading authority on the history of the book in Europe, and an expert on the history of writing and PRINTING, the Korean METAL movable type of 1377 ( about 70 years BEFORE Gutenberg developed metal movable type) that in turn, had been based on older Chinese METAL movable type, was described as “EXTREMELY SIMILAR to Gutenberg’s.

Also you should remember that in the Middle Ages, there were a lot of trades between China and Europe thru the silk roads.

So the chances of Gutenberg independently inventing movable type 400 years AFTER Chinese invented first, are SLIM to NONE..

OF ALL PRIZES, he was awarded in 1998 the Gutenberg Prize of the International Gutenberg Society and the City of Mainz for OUTSTANDING artistic, technical and scientific ACHIVEMENTS in the FIELD of PRINTING.

Do you really think if the Gutenberg Society had thought Henri-Jean Martin’s statement that the 1377 Korean METAL movable type based on older Chinese METAL movable type, was EXTREMELY SIMILAR to Gutenberg’s movable type that was developed more than 70 years LATER, was not true, would have given him the prize?

But Egyptian wooden blocks wre used for PRINTING ONLY in the 10th century AD, notably for decorating textiles and later in other printed patterns during the MEDIAVALperiod.

For your information, woodblock printing is a traditional technique using carved wooden blocks to transfer ink onto fabric or paper, also ORIGINATED from China BEFORE 220 AD.

In recent coverage, China’s science authorities and several outlets describe the Western Han dynasty loom as having programmable, modular elements that readers compare to early computing concepts, which has sparked debate about what counts as the first computer.

The claim is contested and sits alongside other ancient computing candidates such as Antikythera devices and Jacquard looms, depending on how “computer” is defined. For context, sources note the loom’s alleged binary-like programming and multiple modules dating back to around 150–200 BCE.”

Vilnius also supported Taiwan’s observer status at the World Health Assembly20—and the Lithuanian parliament adopted a resolution condemning China for the genocide against Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang. Beijing retaliated with trade restrictions, including suspending Lithuanian wheat imports.21 That same year, the government authorized the opening of a Taiwanese representative office in Vilnius, prompting sweeping Chinese coercion and further embedding Lithuania’s security-driven, values-based foreign policy within a transatlantic framework.

Not as sick as the 100 Childless Days

    https://chinadigitaltimes.net/2021/05/translation-the-hundred-childless-days/

Thirty years ago, Guan County, Shandong Province launched the “Hundred Childless Days” campaign under the aegis of national family planning, known in the West as the “one-child policy.” The birthplace of the “Boxers” was deemed to have too high a birth rate by the provincial government. County officials sought to correct this by ensuring that not a single baby was born between May 1 and August 10, 1991. As local accounts attest, authorities in the area went to extraordinarily inhumane lengths to be the “best” at reproducing the least.

In what some locals called “the slaughter of the lambs,” women across Guan County were rounded up for forced abortions or induction of labor; one local official claims that these “procedures” were sometimes no more than a kick in the stomach from an out-of-town mercenary. Children who did make it into the world were reportedly strangled, and their bodies tossed into open pits. The families of pregnant women were publicly shamed in reprises of the Cultural Revolution.

Like it or not, Japan’s internationalization is happening. There are fewer Japanese and more foreigners than ever.

In 2024, the population of Japanese citizens dropped below the 124 million mark for the first time in the modern era, while the registered Non-Japanese (NJ) population reached a record high at over 3 million, or 2.4% of the total population.

That can only grow. Even if the New Japanese immigrant population numerically stayed the same as it is now, its percentage of the total population will still rise due to Japan’s below-replacement birth rates. But the NJ population will not stay the same, the economics of Japan’s aging labor force is reaching the point where officials see the writing on the wall. According to a recent Kyodo News survey, a whopping 86% of Japan’s municipalities want more NJ workers to do the jobs and save their senescent cities from extinction.

All of these figures do not, of course, include all the multicultural and multiethnic children already in Japan with diverse identities and backgrounds. They are deliberately ignored because Japan’s census does not inquire about ethnicity. So, if anything, Japan’s internationalization is grossly underestimated.

Yeah it was Europeans, not Chinese.

Actually it WAS the Chinese! The Euro's told the Sri Lankans that it might be profitable if done in 3 stages, with the last stage completed around 2040. Then they went to the Chinks and THEY said it would be profitableif done all at once. Fucking Loser!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Hambantota Port was proposed by the Sri Lankans themselves.

and what does that have to do with whether Chinland controls it????

They got European consultants who after a study found that it was viable.

If you have money to spend there is always someone who will do a "study" and then tell you what you want to hear ... whether or not this has any bearing to reality is another matter. LOL!!

Especially when Chinese loans come with clauses requiring it be spent on Chinese companies. LOL!!!!!

After the Sri Lankans got into trouble and could not pay up the loans, it was the Sri Lankans themselves who asked China to take take a lease on in exchange for repayments

Chinese people will hawk a loogie at will, anywhere, anytime.

Yeah, that is a nasty village thing. Singapore had public education campaigns to stop the habit decades ago. China is now doing the same by encouraging their citizens to stop. Its not 100% yet, but certainly much better than a couple of decades ago. If you read Chinese, you would see banners encouraging folks to "be civilised" everywhere...meaning don't cut queue, don't behave like a hooligan, don't spit...etc. etc.

One shouldn't forget that it was a habit in the West too, not that long ago. Remember the spittoons in the saloons in all those cowboy movies? Hell, even the US Senate still retains them on the Senate floor as part of "tradition".

being around loud rude Chinamen at that point.

They will change. But it will take a generation or two. Especially for the rural folk. City folk tend to have more refinement. The problem with internal tourist sites, is that you get folks from all over the country, even the rural village bumpkins.

The Taiwanese are essentially Chinamen. But they don't behave the same way. That is because Taiwan went through the same process that the West did. The lower classes learned refinement and good manners from the middle and upper classes.

In China, this process was interrupted by the "Cult of the Proletariat" during their early Communist era. If the common peasant/worker was to be lionised, how could he be encouraged to take on the affected manners of the bourgeoisie?

But now that time is over, and the Chinese have started a return to their earlier roots, where the individual is encouraged to emulate the Junzi. Jun Zi literally means "a prince" or "a noble person". In Confucian context, it is interpreted as a "cultivated person" or "person of virtue". It can be approximated to your Western "gentleman", though it does not have a connotation of social class, but rather of individual self development.

I don’t want to live in a place where everyone is paranoid and uptight, afraid of being cancelled because he said something un-politically correct.

Ha! And you say that from a place that is THE leader in total control of the population? I remember a girl from there telling me "what's wrong with cameras all over the place?" way before cameras were all over the place in this country. Singapore was far ahead. "If you've got nothing to hide..."

Careful not to drive through no-go areas lest my car windows be smashed. Afraid to use the parks after dark.

Agreed on not staying in the black areas at night, even daytime often. Just SAY it - don't be a coward. This is one thing I really like about Mr. Unz's site is that people will speak these truths and are allowed to by the proprietor. Meanwhile, the US Gov't is still kind of limited to do anything about it due to that "pesky" Amendment I.

Let’s put it this way. If given a choice between UK and USA, I would pick UK.

There may be some good reasons you've got, but it surely can't be the stuff you wrote above. They've imported their very own black thugs along with hordes of Moslems. That's not my point though. When it comes to Orwellian things, the UK of '25 is that book come to life. Have you not been following the people being arrested for stating facts and opinions that The Regime doesn't like?

As for your San Francisco stories, do you reckon that that city today is representative of America, even of American cities of the same size? It's as if the California and city governments purposely ruined the place over the last 40 years. It used to be a great city.

Regarding your story on not understanding the culture, I do get your non-eye-contact point. I get that Chinese people will hawk a loogie at will, anywhere, anytime. I've got not too much of a problem with that. The one I don't like is the pushiness in what should be lines. This time it was not doing any good for anyone - we were all in the same massive line together to see the pandas at the Peking zoo. Yes, somehow they've got to just keep pushing. I finally bailed, vaulted 2 of those expandable barriers, and went to sit on a park bench and then see the big cats. I really felt for them, being around loud rude Chinamen at that point.

China not the USA is the largest market for Japan and South Korea for its high-tech products including semiconductors. That’s because China is the world’s hub for electronics manufacturing which is downstream to their semiconductor industries. Even their back-end OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) factories have already moved to China because of the need for chiplet integration at the wafer level before being assembled and packaged into semiconductor products which are then installed onto PCBs using SMT machines.

Mid supply line electronics would not exist without end of the line buyers ... and the US is that end of the line. LOL!!!

And don’t forget that China is the world’s top supplier of rare-earths, gallium, germanium, industrial diamonds and other critical minerals which are the upstream feedstock to their semiconductor industries.

That's only because the US wisely offloaded all the pollution that is the result of processing them onto Chinkland.

I submit an organization of proud Eurasians of Singapore:

Since Singapore is mentioned, I will have to give my 2 cents worth.

The attitudes are a mixed bag. The propensity to marry Caucasians varies across racial groups in Singapore.

The Indians/South Asians are the most eager to lighten the complexion of their genepool. Preference for lighter skin is hardwired into their culture as easily seen in their caste structure. Lofty Brahmins are the lightest skinned and the detested Untouchables are the darkest skinned.

The Eurasian community in Singapore is descended from Malaccan/Goan Eurasian communities. Their racial mix is essentially Portuguese X Indian. Their roots are in the Portuguese colonies of Goa and Malacca. That is also why in the Eurasian community, you will find Portuguese origin names like De Souza, Silva etc etc. Their cuisine is a hybrid of Portuguese and Indian. Their origin is very old, typically from 1500 onwards.

Every "Eurasian" is very keen to emphasise their Europeanness over his Indian/Asianness. Even if his genetic heritage is 99% Indian and just 1% Portuguese, every Eurasian will take pains to let you know he is Eurasian and not Indian. In addition their inbuilt preference for lighter skin, there is the added pull of prestige by associating with their colonial masters.

To some extent the same pull of prestige of colonial masters is true of Southeast Asians. In Singapore, Malay women are noted be much more amenable to mixing with Western men than say the Chinese. There is a derogatory term here known as "Sarong Party Girl". This is in reference to girls who used to like to mix with Western men. They would wear the traditional sarong skirt to parties to increase their exotic appeal.

One must remember that in colonial times, Westerners were the master. Attitudes carry on for decades after decolonisation. So to these girls, marrying a Western man was an immediate promotion in their social standing. Very often, once they married a Western man, they would put on airs, and speak with a accent, to show everyone their new status. This of course would irritate everybody else. So when one uses the term SPG or Sarong Party Girl, it is a big insult.

In other parts of SE Asia, it is more or less true. Perhaps it is most obvious in Philippines, where to have a Spanish family name is a mark of being in the elite classes. While the Iberians seem to have intermarried with their colonial subjects the most, the Northern Europeans seem to have less of this tendency. The Brits, Dutch and French have left much less hybrid progeny behind.

In contrast with South and Southeast Asia, North East Asia, on the other hand, had less of a experience of being colonized by the West, so attitudes towards intermarriage with Westerners are somewhat less favourable. But Japan is an interesting case.

Firstly it was occupied by the USA, so it got a dose of the "colonial intermarriage aspirations" that the South and Southeast Asians also had.

Secondly, Japan was already pre-inoculated to admire the West. We note that after seeing China humiliated at the Opium Wars, Japan reacted to Commodore Perry's gunships in Tokyo Bay with the Meiji Era, eagerly copying the West. So Japan had a much longer period of seeing the West in a favourable light. Japan is easily the most westernised of the NE Asian countries.

We have to compare Japan's adoption of Western ways with an earlier period in the 600s, when after being defeated by Chinese and Korean forces in Korea, Japan entered a period of wholesale adoption of Chinese culture and technology. So Japan does have a history of opening up to a foreign culture after it has been defeated militarily.

China and Korea are different. China has always had a deep sense of itself, always looking inward and back to its past for inspiration. Foreign conquerors found themselves being assimilated by the Chinese, rather than the other way around.

Korea has for millenia been the closest of China's friends. In terms of culture, they are the closest to China, not least because of the Confucian commonality. It is interesting to note that when the Manchus conquered China, the Koreans lamented the loss, and felt that they had now inherited the responsibility to continue Confucian culture.

That’s very true. I want to mention an interesting fact. In the early 80s, when China began to REEMPHASIZE it’s Confcian heritage, many Chinese scholars came to South Korea to consult with Korean Confucian scholars on various Confucian rituals that were kept alive in South Korea.
That really made me proud of being Korean more than anything else!!!

In contrast with South and Southeast Asia, North East Asia, on the other hand, had less of a experience of being colonized by the West, so attitudes towards intermarriage with Westerners are somewhat less favourable. But Japan is an interesting case.

Firstly it was occupied by the USA, so it got a dose of the “colonial intermarriage aspirations” that the South and Southeast Asians also had.

Secondly, Japan was already pre-inoculated to admire the West. We note that after seeing China humiliated at the Opium Wars, Japan reacted to Commodore Perry’s gunships in Tokyo Bay with the Meiji Era, eagerly copying the West. So Japan had a much longer period of seeing the West in a favourable light. Japan is easily the most westernised of the NE Asian countries.

We have to compare Japan’s adoption of Western ways with an earlier period in the 600s, when after being defeated by Chinese and Korean forces in Korea, Japan entered a period of wholesale adoption of Chinese culture and technology.

Korea has for millenia been the closest of China’s friends. In terms of culture, they are the closest to China, not least because of the Confucian commonality. It is interesting to note that when the Manchus conquered China, the Koreans lamented the loss, and felt that they had now inherited the responsibility to continue Confucian culture.

Thanks, Comrade, for the comprehensive sweep of historiography. I would make the point that, leaving aside the group dynamics of individuals of the Occident and the Orient [family, community, culture and subcultural bias, predilections, and provincial inhibitors, on any individual level, it seems to me - by direct observation of many years {I am quite old} - that individuals originating form East and West, are quite drawn to each other.

A bit of refresh. Originally from a military family that got regularly uprooted and reassigned, I attended high school in US State Department school in Tokyo. Then spent 2 years in Hawaii finishing high school at a local public school and then a year at the University of Hawaii. I have lived on the entire West Coast of Americur, noting the very large number of couples of East West combination. Hawaii is the locus of East West cross cultural intersection and interaction.
I chose a seagoing career in the United States Merchant Marine, a good part of which was spent sailing to Japan, Korea, Indonesia, China, etc., etc. I spent months in Singapore with my wife.
My family and friends are and have been married to Asians. One such friend, of my wife's has a Chinese husband. Their children - products of a happy marriage, are all above average and beautiful. Her son married a girl descended from Castilian Cubans. Her parents were delighted with her choice. Of course, they perceived correctly that he is indeed a very high quality boy in all respects.

My perspective accrues from experience, an inductive approach of direct observation and verification. Since I have a mild form of Aspergers, it is easy for me to bore down and assiduously pursue an opinion, theme, idea, etc., until I find enough supporting facts, authority and congruence and concomitance to be finally satisfied of its veritas.

"Knowing" is a philosophical construct. Some believe in total rationality, material determinism, or a repetitive and "authoritative" set of inputs. I dismiss this as inherently limited. There is a difference between a "working, provisional" theory or hypothesis, and temporal believe, that expires at a given time, until a greater degree of evidence can be gathered.

That's very true. I want to mention an interesting fact. In the early 80s, when China began to REEMPHASIZE it's Confcian heritage, many Chinese scholars came to South Korea to consult with Korean Confucian scholars on various Confucian rituals that were kept alive in South Korea.
That really made me proud of being Korean more than anything else!!!

Both Japan and South Korea has had the phenomenon of American GIs taking home Japanese and South Korean war brides due to their history of hosting US military bases since the end of WWII. That’s not the case with HK and Taiwan. After the USA, Canada and Australia liberalized their immigration policies in the 1960s, the Taiwanese and HKers began emigrating to the USA and Canada/Australia, respectively, during the 1970s and 1980s. Then starting in the 1990s, the West began accepting lots of Chinese immigrants from the PRC after the Chinese student protesters fled from the crackdown in Tiananmen. Fast forward to the 2010s, the phenomenon of “sea turtles” (海龟) haigui began with wave upon wave of Chinese immigrants moving back to China. Then the Covid-19 pandemic happened and what started out as a wave turned into a flood as the reverse migration of Chinese immigrants saw them leaving the West for permanent relocation back to China. That’s why the Chinese population in the USA, Canada and Australia has been declining for five consecutive years in a row just as China opened up after the Covid mass hysteria caused the rise of anti-Chinese sentiment in the West.

My prediction is that the Chinese population in the West will fall precipitously after 2030, for FOUR (4) reasons:

    1). The West is no longer seen as a desirable place to start a career, invest in a business or raise a family;

    2). The rise of China as a world superpower is causing the rise of anti-Chinese sentiment in the West which began during the Covid pandemic;

    3). The Wokeness of the West has attracted the mass migration of Blacks and Browns from the Third World to the West which exacerbates reason number one;

4). China’s GDP per capita will reach $20K by 2030. That’s five years from now. And that is making China an increasingly attractive destination for Chinese retirees, Overseas Chinese, expats and foreigners alike, to retire, work, invest or settle down.

Chinese nationalism has already become the dominant zeitgeist in China, especially amongst the intellectual elites and entrepreneurial class. This is especially true for the returned haigui professionals who had studied, lived and worked in the West, many of whom had become disappointed at the Wokeness of the West.

While an exact, up-to-date percentage for Koreans marrying whites is difficult to find, in-depth analysis of multicultural marriages in South Korea in 2019 showed that roughly 3.5% of all married Korean men had white wives, and approximately 5% of all married Korean women had white husbands. The overall percentage of marriages with a foreigner was about 10.3% in 2019.
Korean men marrying white women: In 2019, among foreign-born household heads in South Korea, 4.7% of males had white spouses. Since these are foreign-born men, this percentage is only a fraction of the total Korean marriages with white women. To account for marriages with white men from other countries, the 2019 statistic is estimated to be roughly 3.5% of all marriages involving a Korean man and a white woman, according to the provided statistics.
Korean women marrying white men: In 2019, 15.3% of foreign-born female household heads in South Korea were married to white spouses. A study in 2019 showed that the largest group of foreign men married to Korean women were Americans, making up about 1.3% of all marriages. Therefore, marriages between Korean women and white men are estimated to be approximately 5% of all marriages.

    AI Overview
Whether Korean parents care about their children marrying a white person varies greatly, but it is becoming more accepted due to increased international exchange, though some still express concerns over social pressures, cultural differences, and communication. While some may have initial reservations, many parents are ultimately supportive as long as their child is happy, and concerns about cultural background and traditions can be overcome with time and effort, particularly when the partner is from a Western country.

The Asians in the States are in limbo, I don’t fully consider them as part of us because they became Americanized and a lot of the second generation Asian Americans don’t even speak their native languages and they are not fully accepted by the other Americans either. Asian Americans are differnt species from the Asians living in Asia.

So you are one of those American military “brats” MOST of whom come from lower-middle class or lower-class American households.

NOT all but most of the people who join the U.S. military are losers that CAN NOT find decent civilian job. Also some of mixed-breed children look ok but others don’t look good.just like any other group.

You talk about dating Japanese girls. I strongly doubt MOST of those girls come from good families. NOT all but MOST of them are bar girls, prostitutes .massage parlor girls.

The situation is the same in Korea Specially the girls dating American GIs are looked down upon with contempt. the bottom line is that very RARELY women who come from good families date or marry caucasians in the China,Korea, Japan .

India has a concept called Akhand Bharat (Greater India). Basically, everything that was once part of the British Raj or areas that had a British presence or were under the sway of the British Raj belongs to India. Hence, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Bhutan, Tibet, etc., are part of India. In 1954, India even published the map of India, which includes Sikkim and Bhutan, and the NEFA (Northeast Frontier Agency, or South Tibet according to the Chinese, or Arunachal Pradesh according to the Indians). Sikkim was annexed by India in 1975, as you mentioned. Bhutan is militarily occupied by India, and India’s coveting of Bhutan’s territory has not decreased.

False, please check the map correctly. The colour for Sikkim and Bhutan (bright yellow) is not exactly the same as that used for India (pinkish yellow). Then the map clearly maintains that "Bhutan and Sikkim are attached to India via special treaty." So claiming that this map shows Bhutan and Sikkim AS PARTS OF INDIA is plainly false.
However, you are right about the Hindu-Jain dream of "Akhanda Bharat" or "Greater India" or a more accurate translation would be "Complete India". Which includes the entire Indian subcontinent as well as Afghanistan,Myanmar/Burma and the Autonomous province of Tibet.
This is partly driven by a Hindu fear from the North West, the North West has traditionally been a source of Islamic barbarian hordes who would pour into the rich Indian subcontinent and rape, plunder, enslave and destroy with glee. Howmuchever the Nehru Government put the population into a "Hate Evul British" anti-colonial frenzy and decided that concentrating Indian emotions into anti-British/ anti-West hatred, the Indian Government would keep the country together. And the Hindu danced, danced with vicious anti-British/ anti-West hatred. BUT....BUT...deep within the Hindu's (or Jain's or Sikh's) heart, there WAS always a fear from the North West, there in the North West was the gate of Mordar. For the Hindu, all kind of blood thirsty Muslim barbarian hordes existed on the other side of those passes, who could come anytime and go on a looting, raping, killing ....spree. So Akhand Bharat represents the deep desire within the Hindu's heart to have strategic buffer locations so the core of the Indian civilization would get time to prepare a defense of our beloved motherland, if the barbarian hordes poured in again from the North West.

China has created about 350 million artificial wombs run by AI. Once China’s government pushes the big red button, the AI will immediately start manufacturing hundreds of millions of Chinese people in the artificial wombs.

Well, there are Asians who feel that marriage and procreation should be only between and among their own ethnicity, and/or CLASS or social standing. I grew up Greek Orthodox and in my church some of my peers were applied great pressure to marry a "nice Greek Girl or Boy". Think of Jews.

I believe historically that Asians were not as resistant to their prodigy marrying a Causcasian compared to the opposite. What I have seen is that character, intelligence, inner qualities are hold more value to the Oriental regarding her extra-ethnic choice. Other considerations are understanding, incorporation of their cultural values and simpatico. In other words, Asians put more consideration on real quality of the person.

But in the past, Caucasian parents would negate and disapprove the union based on unidimensional racial considerations and the "strangeness" of the fiancé. That seemed an overriding concern. But things have changed. Many Caucasian parents today are quite alright or even delighted that their child is marrying an Oriental, because the realization has set in that the children are more likely to be smarter, the Asian is more stable and steady that the Occidental on average. And is likely to be a better producer and family oriented. I've seen it myself over the years.

    Since you commented:

Luckily, I don't have to make that choice, and I don't do either one of those in real life.

DO you have anything critical things to say about China or the Chinese society (executions, IP theft, 1 child policy, no voting rights, disappearance/killing of dissenters of CCP)? If yes, then I can take you as a rational troll.

Heck, we don't take over our neighboring countries like Sri Lanka or Nepal because they are culturally similar and share a long history before the concept of "nation-state" came along.

And China thinks Tibet belongs to them and so does Taiwan (even if those folks don't want to be with you and they value democratic values more than the shared history).

On top of IP Theft from US, you are now spreading lies about the origin of the number 0 and its use in mathematics- it was China's ideas and Indians stole it!

How much did CCP pay you for that.

I have high regards for rational minded intelligent ("IQ") people, no matter what your race or how cunning you are.

But you take the cake as a very ignorant fool, interested insults and trolling. My last exchange with you in this life.

You said”Heck, we don’t take over our neighboring countries like Sri Lanka or Nepal —”
Again you are lying. India took over SIKKIM militarily FIRST and then forced a SHAM referendom on SIKKIM to make it part of India in 1975.

Tibet has been part of China ever since China conquered it in the 18th entury. After the Chinese civil war, in 1951 the Chinese CENTRAL government sent troops to Tibet to REASSERT the Chinese sovereignty over Tibet. Why don’t you read an article in Wikipeda named Tibet 1911 -1951 and educate yourself instead of spewing out a lot of garbage.

What I said about so-called Hindu-Arabic numeral system is true. I used VERY credible sources such as Dr. Lam Lay Yong’s statement. Dr. Lam finally proved the Chinese origin of so-called Hindu-Arabic numerals, Wikipedia.

Bhutan is militarily occupied by India, and India's coveting of Bhutan's territory has not decreased.

There are observed exceptions. When the source of food is more plentiful, there is greater possibility for co-existence, but this is the exception, not the rule. Also the reverse is very ture. For more than many hundred years in the East Asia,inter-racial marriage has been froned upon, specially in Korea. East Asians should marry among themselves to the exclusion of all the other inferior breeds.

    • Replies: @Poupon Marx
    @tamo

I'm an Eastern Oriented Man, so none of these considerations weigh on me. Like Jared Taylor said, "The Japanese are just like us". As did Adolph Hitler, who professed great admiration for
    the Japanese culture and people.

    moderately prosperous society

    You are absolutely right.

If you permit, I will elaborate a little for the benefit of Western readers.

That the term "moderately prosperous society" is not an invention of Xi or even the CPC. It first appears in 2200 year old Confucian texts which in turn refer back to "the good ol' days" of the Zhou dynasty circa 1000BC. It is used to describe an ideal, but not utopian society that one can aim for. Prosperous enough to be comfortable, but not obsessed with prosperity or materialism/consumerism.

If they knew how the Chinese government uses heavily loaded terms like these, Western observers won't so easily simply dismiss China as being simply "soulless commie" or "created by Jews" etc etc.

    Replies: @showmethereal

Yea – I don’t expect them to understand… But they should be willing to learn. But yeah I don’t know why the “party” still keeps communist in the name. It is fairly obvious that more and more they are returning toward Confucian ideals… Maybe even a mix of legalism… Even outside the party – but in overall society – Taoism and “Chinese” Buddhism are no longer out on the fringe – but back in the mainstream.

But yeah bottom line – while they don’t want Chinese people to still be saving 40% of their income — they don’t want the pendulum to swing the other way completely like the US with too much consumerism and people in personal debt for it.

But you are completely deceived if you believe containing China is in the national interest of those nations. It is the EXACT OPPOSITE. China is all of those nations top trade partner – NOT the US. Also the US is thousands of kilometers away. The US wants them to be rocket and artillery and missile fodder while the US keeps most of it’s forces at home. Just like in WW1 and 2 and just like what is going on in Ukraine. Are you going to tell me with a straight face that containing Russia on NATO’s behalf was in Ukraine’s interest????? And if South Korea does build a nuclear powered submarine (which would be built in the US so the US could benefit financially) — what on earth do you think Russia and North Korea are going to do???? Are you people blind??? Do you not see North Korea openly supplying arms to Russia??? Do you seriously not think the US would force South Korea to also pressure Russia’s Pacific Fleet???? Do you not think North Korea would get “help” building nuclear powered subs from Russia??? North Korea’s conventional subs can already launching ballistic missiles. Americans and South Koreans aren’t thinking straight. Check a map – look where South Korea is and where China is. Where could those big nuclear powered submarines hide???? I am glad you put the Honkeys in their place. Honkeys are ignorant of China and don't understand Plan A and Plan B. I read all about it in the South China Morning Post. China has two plans to increase Chinese birthrates. Plan A is to put advertisements on TV telling Chinese people to have more children. But, plan B is to activate the AI artificial womb factories. China has created about 350 million artificial wombs run by AI. Once China's government pushes the big red button, the AI will immediately start manufacturing hundreds of millions of Chinese people in the artificial wombs.

The leader of the Honkeys, Donald Trump, thinks Honkeys can outbreed Chinese people. But, he is wrong. Honkeys will go extinct, and the Chinese AI artificial wombs will create billions of Chinese people to take over the world.

China understands that the world is divided into four nations - China, Russia, North Korea, and West. China understands that West is ruled by Honkeys and their leader is Donald Trump. China understands that Russia and North Korea are weak and will be conquered by West. But thanks to China's AI artificial wombs, as described by South China Morning Post, the future will belong to China.

The Chinese ORIGIN of so-called Hindu-Arabic numeral sysyem

The Arabic numerals we use today has it's roots in China, NOT in India. Go to ORIGINS of Hindu-Arabic Numeral System in Wikipedia. It states " According to some sources, this number system may have originated in Chinese Shang numerals (1200 BCE), which was also a decimal positional numeral system.[9]" .

Singaporean historian of mathematics Lam Lay Yong (National University of Singapore) was awarded the Kenneth O. May Prize for her contribution to the history of Mathematics in 2001.

Lam is the first Asian and first woman to have won this highest award in the field of history of mathematics. In her reception speech, she delivered Ancient Chinese Mathematics and its influence on World Mathematics.

It is very obvious she is a world -class mathematician and specially very knowledgeable in the history of mathematics.

In about the early 4th century BC, China developed counting rod numeral system about 400 BC incorporating the CONCEPT of ZERO (China developed the concept of zero EARLIER than any other civilization) by leaving an EMPTY space for it and the counting rod numeral system also had the MOST important element, DECIMAL PLACE VALUE system
The counting rod numeral system is a decsendent of the 1200 BC Chinese Shang numerals.

On the other hand, the Indian Brami number system from which the Hindu-Arabic numerals were supposed to derive, had NO decimal place value system. It means the Hindu-Arabic numeral system that has DECIMAL PLACE VALUE, could NOT have come from the Indian Brhami numeral system.

I just took a look at the Brahmi SIGNS for numbers. It is obvious to me the number SIGNS for the Hindu-Arabic numbers came from the Brahmi number signs. Specially the numbers 6 and 7 are exactly the same in the Brahmi number signs and those of the Hindu-Arabic number system.

Dr, Lam said in the ancient times, quite a few Indians visited China and it is very likely some of the Indians got hold of the Chinese counting rod numeral system and took it back to India and instead of Chinese number signs, used the Brahmi signs for numbers and also created the sign for zero”0″ for the EMPTY place that Chinese used for zero.

So basically Indians got the so-called Hindu-Arabic numeral SYSTEM from China and replaced Chinese NUMBER signs with Indian ones including the sign for zero.

According to Dr. Lam, up to now, it is generally assumed that the Hindu -Arabic numerals originated in India. But there is yet NO convincing evidence for that and even Indians themselves DO NOT know how the Hindu -Arabic numerals originated.

Therefore it’s very convincing that the Chinese counting rod numeral system is the origin of so-called Hindu-Arabic numerals. I hope this thing is resolved one way or another very soon.

This is what Dr. Lam Lay Yong said what happened after publishing the paper that stated the Hindu-Arabic numerals originated from the Chinese counting rod numerals
I quote Dr. Lam “There was DISBELIEF in the beginning, which led me to write MORE papers about it. To date, there have NOT been ANY publications CONTRADICTING my findings”.

  • Two months after the September 3 military parade in Beijing, more information has been declassified about the weapons displayed. Two newly unveiled cruise missiles are particularly note worthy – the CJ-1000 anti-aircraft and YJ-19 anti-ship hypersonic cruise missiles. Missiles fall into two broad categories – ballistic and cruise. Ballistic missiles travel faster (often supersonic and...

The last trade truce by Trump is allowing China to buy some time which is running out for the Yanks who are desperate to keep their Empire in East Asia.

China bought some time ... which is running out ... for the US??? Sounds fishy. If China bought some time, doesn't that mean it is running out ... for China?? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

I think Chinkland needs to worry more about the problems inside Chinkland ... instead of problems in the US.

Problems like the continuing real estate crash, rapidly bleeding into the banking sector, as well as fleeing investment money. New home sales by builders are now down 80% from the peak per official statistics ...and always always remember that Chinklanders LIE on official statistics. The true number is closer to down 90%!!!! LOL!!!

GM recently ordered its suppliers to source parts outside of Chinkland, for cars made outside of Chinkland.

    Tesla has done the same.

and Foxconn continues to move its plants outside of Chinkland!

That is probably around 3 million jobs that Chinkland will lose just from these 3 companies pulling out. LOL!!!

  • Karl Marx described India as a civilization without a history. The statement was not a denial of India’s ancient existence or cultural achievements. Rather, it reflected his historical-materialist analysis of social development, particularly in the context of economic dynamism and class struggle. In his 1853 article “The Future Results of British Rule in India”, Marx...

This Snake, Dog and Bat eating author, Kung Fu Chow Min, Hua Beans, is basically feeding a bunch of racists people on this board, what they want to hear!

He will come and eat your flesh without hesitation if it came down to that for his survival.

Do you know which country in the world leads in executions?

    Country Estimated Executions (2024) Notes
China Thousands True numbers are state secrets; likely the global leader
Iran 972+ All numbers are officially reported; major increase in recent years
Saudi Arabia 345+ Highest recorded total for the country in years

In India - death penalty is very rare.

Hundreds and thousands of government leaders disappear every year and no one can question that forever! Is this Bat-eating BEAN every going to write about that. Huh Wang! NEVER.

Did you know that India has the biggest population of vegetarians (not as a lifestyle choice) but culturally by choice, due to the teachings of their Hindu Faith.

How about in DOG eating, BAT soup drinking China? or the CCP? There is NO GOD according to CCP's doctrine:

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is officially atheist and does not promote any religious faith; instead, it maintains strict control over religious practice and doctrine in China. Party members are expected to adhere to atheism and are formally banned from active religious participation, with enforcement ranging from career consequences to expulsion for those who openly engage in religious activities.

Do you know which country leads the world in IP Theft (and who is the biggest loser)? We know the answer.

Chinese people don't even have basic voting rights. Heck, they didn't have the right to decide if they can have more than one child. They want their people to work like robots.

In such a backdrop, of course, there is no comparison between India and China when it comes to military might and NO India will never be like China.

Kung Fu Hua Bin probably grew up in China, appreciates the western values and the freedoms that come with it but is unwilling to say or write anything bad about his homeland.

Whites and Muslims have basically ruled and conquered lands for centuries. America was taken over by whites from natives. And now barely 200 into existence, as a nation-state, some of you new generation "locals/whites" are worried about the threat of Panjeets or immigrants taking over the "Country"?!

    Give UP the hate please.

Sure, there shit on the grounds in India, but some people here and around the world carry more SHIT and PTSD in their head.

There are bad actors and morons (low IQ) all over the world, including in India and here.

America is a generous country. Very generous country. China will likely never replace it given some it's virtues (or lack there of).

Sure, if Indians are abusing a system (H1-B) fix it and move on. Don't begrudge someone else's progress (at least majority of them that come here legally).

Here's a statistical anomaly - probably/at least, 23 or out of the last 25 spelling bees were won by Kids born to Panjeet's family here in the US. How about appreciating that for a change.

Panjeets are interested less in wars, guns and drugs and more in our own progress.

I think that is a fairly American virtue. Sure, the first generation that comes here may be irritating but they/we come here to succeed, start a business and contribute (not to steal the IP and take it back home). Fairly patriotic (for US) bunch are Panjeets/Indians.

And we assimilate and by the time we are 3rd generation; 100% Americanized like the Italians and Irish or other races.

DUMB article to feed DUMB hate.

Make sure you tell your kids that everything is spirit (emptiness is form). And definitely tell them NOT to eat BAT or SNAKE soup for Thanksgiving.

    Happy Thanksgiving :-)!

You low -iq FILTHY Pajeets who SHIT OUTDOORS and DRINK cow PISS and using cow SHIT to clean homes and KILLING a lot of INNOCENT Moslems and also CAN NOT feed their own people, DO NOT have much room to criticize China.

According to Global Hunger Index, the hunger in India is far WORSE than that of sub-Saharan Africa.

Hunger in India is a condition in which adults and children CAN NOT get food all the time, HAVE to eat less, eat poorly, and often go WITHOUT food.

Economist Amartya Sen explained that the inability to PAY for food is the real cause of hunger. In India, poor government policies and MISUSE (aka corruption) of the financially weaker section by the wealthier community are the primary causes of poverty.

    @Tamo,

Burning in Hell as usual or having a better day today in China?

Are you a HUA KUNG FU BEANS (Author's) progeny, or a CCP BOT, or just Downright angry troll with NO life? Judging by your comments here, appears to be a CCP BOT or a very very angry troll.

I did not engage with you, and my comments were directed towards the ROASTED-RAT eating & BAT SOUP drinking author HUA BEANS.

    Since you commented:

If I had to make a moral choice between whether to SHIT out in the open and live a hungry/starving life, or eat SHIT that you eat: I would rather/gladly SHIT in the open (like animal or like PAJEETs), THAN EAT that SHIT that your culture has taught you to (or your Dad, HUA BEENS if you are his kid and he has taught you that).

    - LOW IQ MORON/PAJEET. A Vegetarian, with a 110-70 BP and no health issues.

I consider Gandhi, Lincoln and MLK Jr. as aspirational leaders. I am guessing since you are a CCP/AI BOT, you look up to CCP or MAO or Silicon.

Have a good life HUA BEANS.
