Dear Team , I want to create a bar graph rather than a line or default view in cacti. For this purpose i am using RRD tools I have a script in perl i.e rrdbar.cgi.pl that generate a bar graph but i am facing issue while creating a rrd file *RRD file* is created for database and it requires following parameter to give bar view 1.RRD file 2.DS : one or more data sources, separated by + or @ for bar view 3.T : time interval 4.MAX: maximum upper bound for the data 5.LAB : Labelstyle. 6.WID : Bar width 7.LEN : Bar length >From README file i have configured everything i.e file location . but i am facing an issue while making a RRD file I have generated one RRD file and gives path on browser *http://localhost/cacti/cgi-bin/rrdbar.cgi.pl?RRD=meshdata.rrd&DS=ds0%20@ds1 <http://localhost/cacti/cgi-bin/rrdbar.cgi.pl?RRD=meshdata.rrd&DS=ds0%20@ds1>* and give usual output . i am sending all files and sreenshot of output . I followed links : *https://code.google.com/p/fabfi/wiki/RRDtutorial <https://code.google.com/p/fabfi/wiki/RRDtutorial>* *http://rrd-users.oetiker.narkive.com/VFL1Z4Es/rrd-database-combining <http://rrd-users.oetiker.narkive.com/VFL1Z4Es/rrd-database-combining>* *http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl/rrdtool/tutorial/rrdcreate.php <http://www.vandenbogaerdt.nl/rrdtool/tutorial/rrdcreate.php>* Any suggestion would be appreciated. Cacti is based on rrdtool, both for storing data and for graphing. As of today, rrdtool does not support bar charts. Apart from that, there are some plugins, that add functionality to Cacti as the plugin maintainer sees fit. IMHO, for "normal" performance data, there is currently no such a plugin. Hi All, Since an upgrade from 0.8.8b to 0.8.8c we are experiencing issues with the 'pages' which you can scroll through on the New Graph page. Whenever there is more than one Data Query section on the New Graphs page, it doesn't matter which page number you choose, it always changes the page on the lowest query (in our case, SNMP - Interface Statistics). So even though there are 3 other query sections above it, no matter which one you click on (or which page number you request) the page is always changed on the SNMP - Interface Statistics section. Full sequence: Select a host from the "Devices" tab (from http://cacti-server/host.php) Select "Create Graphs for this host" (from http://cacti-server/graphs_new.php?host_id=142) Then, 3 different page-changing example selections are made as follows: Example URL if I choose page 8 on the first query we have called "Cisco - CBFWQ Scripting": http://cacti-server/graphs_new.php?page1=8 Example URL if I choose page 5 on the second query we have called "Interface Queueing": http://cacti-server/graphs_new.php?page1=5 Example URL if I choose page 3 on the final query we have, the default "SNMP - Interface Statistics": http://cacti-server/graphs_new.php?page1=3 As you can see, every link, no matter which query type I click on, always makes the same URL, and therefore always changes the page on the final query for Interface Statistics. This is pretty crippling as I am now unable to add any new graphs for anything beyond page 1. Most of these queries have over 20 pages and the items I need to add are not on page 1 :) Also, the same is true for any device and any combination of queries. Always it is the Interface Statistics section which changes it's page. Any ideas please? Cheers! Robert Williams Technical Director Custodian Data Centre Tel: +44 (0)1622 230382 || Email: Ro...@Cu... My response is too fast your log clearly say that you are using cmd.php Can you create the problematic rrd using CLI? Turn On Data Source Debug Mode and you can see the CLI command to create the rrd go to http://yourhost/cacti/data_sources.php?action=ds_edit&id=<rrd id>&debug=1 Regards Hendry Leo On Fri, Mar 6, 2015 at 4:43 PM, Hendry Leo <gho...@gm...> wrote: > I was once run into this kind of problem using spine, where spine will not > create rrd file, but can update if the rrd file was already created. > The workaround is to use cmd.php > if performance is the issue, then you can switch back to spine after the > rrd is created > > Regards > Hendry Leo > > On Fri, Mar 6, 2015 at 4:30 PM, Paulus Tamba < > pau...@ko...> wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> I’m having issue with one of the devices we monitor with cacti. I was once run into this kind of problem using spine, where spine will not create rrd file, but can update if the rrd file was already created. The workaround is to use cmd.php if performance is the issue, then you can switch back to spine after the rrd is created Regards Hendry Leo On Fri, Mar 6, 2015 at 4:30 PM, Paulus Tamba < pau...@ko...> wrote: > Hi, > > I’m having issue with one of the devices we monitor with cacti. Hi, I’m having issue with one of the devices we monitor with cacti. I’m trying to get graph for hrProcessLoad from an SNMP device, but the rrd is not created. I’ve searched the web, but most of the suggestion is about permission issue of <htdocs>/cacti/rra which I have confirmed to be not the issue. I’m running 0.8.8c on SLES 11 SP3. Here’s the output from cacti.log about the poller. As seen, the poller is able to retrieve the value from the device, issue a rrdtool create command, and rrdtool update command. But there’s not graph created 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[17] DS[248] SNMP: v2: <ip_address>, dsname: load, oid: .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.768, output: 21 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_traffic_in_243.rrd --template traffic_in:traffic_out 1425633902:0:0 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_traffic_in_244.rrd --template traffic_in:traffic_out 1425633902:0:0 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Time: 0.5505 s, Theads: N/A, Hosts: 9 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_traffic_in_242.rrd --template traffic_out:traffic_in 1425633902:2188400294:2188400294 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool create /srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_load_248.rrd --step 300 DS:load:GAUGE:600:0:100 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:0 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:0 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:0 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:4100 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:700 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:24:775 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:12:4100 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:797 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:230400 RRA:MIN:0.5:1:4100 RRA:MIN:0.5:6:700 RRA:MIN:0.5:24:775 RRA:MIN:0.5:288:797 RRA:MAX:0.5:1:4100 RRA:MAX:0.5:6:700 RRA:MAX:0.5:24:775 RRA:MAX:0.5:12:4100 RRA:MAX:0.5:288:797 RRA:LAST:0.5:1:4100 RRA:LAST:0.5:6:700 RRA:LAST:0.5:24:775 RRA:LAST:0.5:288:797 03/06/2015 04:25:02 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_load_248.rrd --template load N:21 Both graph debug mode as well as apache2 error_log complains about ERROR: opening '/srv/www/htdocs/cacti/rra/<device_name>_load_248.rrd': No such file or directory Strangely enough, I’m able to traffic information graph from the same device, which is quite frustrating.
