You may want to reduce the XML file to one field only (including header references to fields), check and add one field per step. Find some more hints at http://docs.cacti.net/node/70 You will have to scroll down some chapters Reinhard |

I believe that happens when there's an error in the XML (Seems like Cacti doesn't do validation there). Try the following: 1. Edit a host and add the broken Data Query to it (doesn't matter if there's no graph templates yet). 2. Click on the "Verbose Query" link. 3. You'll see the XML parsing errors if there are any. Hello, If you search the forum for your printer model you will hopefully find someone who has set this up and uploaded the host and graph templates already - this one seems to work on most HP's Setup the printer with SNMP after uploading the xml query to the correct directory on your server and importing the templates: http://forums.cacti.net/about12970.html&highlight=3Dprinter HTH Larry=20 Laurence Dutton=20 Senior Network & Systems Management Engineer=20 Redstone Managed Solutions=20 -----Original Message----- From: cac...@li... Recently I want to custom the Cacti to monitor the processes number of the
server, for example: httpd/mysqld, etc.
So I wrote a XML file, cacti/resource/snmp_queries/processes.xml:
<interface>
<name>Get Important Processes Number</name>
<oid_index>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.1</oid_index>
<index_order>prNames:prMin:prMax:prCount:prErrorFlag:prErrMessage</index_order>
<index_title_format>|chosen_order_field|</index_title_format>
<fields>
<prIndex>
<name>Index</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.1</oid>
</prIndex>
<prNames>
<name>Names</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.2</oid>
</prNames>
<prMin>
<name>Min</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</source>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.3</oid>
</prMin>
<prMax>
<name>Max</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>input</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.4</oid>
</prMax>
<prCount>
<name>Count</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>output</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.5</oid>
</prCount>
<!--<prErrorFlag>
<name>ErrorFlag</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>output</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.100</oid>
</prErrorFlag>
<prErrMessage>
<name>ErrorMessage</name>
<method>walk</method>
<source>value</source>
<direction>output</direction>
<oid>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.2.1.101</oid>
</prErrMessage>-->
</fields>
</interface>
Then I created the Data Queries, Data Input Method is "Get SNMP Data
(Indexed)", and *"**Successfully located XML file"*
But When I Associate the Data Queries to Graph Template, I get this Errors:
Data Template - SNMP - Important Processes
*Data Source:* httpd
*Warning*: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in *
/data/httpd/monitor/cacti/data_queries.php* on line *356*
Now of course I can't create such graph, so what is the problem?
Thanks.

The "Users logged in" graph applies to localhost only. If the device supports an OID that reports currently logged in users, see http://docs.cacti.net/node/70 for a walkthrough on integrating this into cacti Reinhard |

You will need to get gcc. Its pretty much the standard for compiling C code in linux. There is also cc you also have to make sure you have all of the libraries available otherwise you will be wasting your time. I thought there was a version for windows already compiled.. Maybe Im wrong.. but I thought I saw it out there. -- ........::::::::::......... Brian Fertig Director of Engineering Molten, Inc. I had a very similar problem and could not fix it. Ultimately I switched to using the cactid poller and everything started magically working again. Greetings all.. Im having an issue I have never had before. I am manually running poller.php and finding it hangs for quite a bit of time then stops working after php times out. Its not pulling down information from any of my hosts except for localhost. Any ideas why? this is what I get: [root@cacti html]# php poller.php OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.03 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:0.03 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:6.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:6.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:6.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:6.02 OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:6.02 Content-type: text/html X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.9 05/23/2007 04:28:48 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 292 seconds exceeded. Awesome, that worked, thanks. Any chance you also know the OID for getting individual t1 ports in use vs total across the whole device on a Cisco 5300? The one I use for individual t1's on a 5400 doesn't work. Also...know of some way to differentiate between VOIP and dialup calls on a 5400, perchance? Hi, I have a graph that after some days stopped, and nothing is display. I checked the cacti, and I discovered that in the Device tab, that device have is status "down". The problem is that the device is not down, and I can't change the status to up. In the command line I can reach the machine with snmpwalk. Can someone help me ? I'm trying to query a Cisco 5300 for total ports in use. The object ID for this is: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.3 An SNMPwalk completes fine... cacti:/home/cactiuser/public_html/scripts# snmpwalk -v2c -c <snip> 209.197.<snip> .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.3 SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.10.19.1.1.3.0 = Gauge32: 20 Yet for some reason, when I try to graph this I get no data, and my graph items are all N/A. So my questions are, I guess, as follows: I see no obvious errors in the cacti.log for this host. What should I be looking for? Is there some other secret to getting certain Cisco OID's to work properly? Thanks all, -Jake |

If it is not supported from scratch, you may want to compile it into your net-snmp. This is described at the net-snmp website. Damien,
See if the latest version of the script_server.php in SVN helps. I added a few lines to accommodate users leaving an extra line in their PHP files that was causing some synchronization issues. Make sure you take it from BRANCH_0_8_6. Also, run your poller in MEDIUM for one pass to see what output you get. Also, make sure that you output the entire result at one time. If your script output's in chunks, it will likely fail.

Hi everybody,
I've got a problem with the migration from an existing PHP script to
Script Server method, I just follow the doc steps ("Migration of
Existing PHP Scripts to Script Server")and my graphs are stopped.
So, I have to manually create new graphs with the script server method,
it goes very well (results tested with the CLI script_server.php are
right).
Did I miss another step during the migration ?
Thanks for your answers and I'm sorry for my english ;)
Cordially.
