Hi David, That's funny actually. Well the way I have my setup, is entering the following in /etc/crontab: # Run cacti poller */1 * * * * cactiuser php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1 And everything works just fine, and actually makes sense :) And it's running on a RH 5 machine. //M On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 7:42 PM, David <da...@pn...> wrote: > Hi Muhammad, > > Thanks for the reply, I think I found the issue :d > > I have change nginx's directory from /dev/null to /home/nginx, and seems > work after rebooting the machine. > But, I still can't explain why user that on /dev/null can't run crontab :d. > > Thank you.. > > -- > Best regards, > David > ------------------------ > http://blog.pnyet.web.id > > > On 10/28/2011 11:55 PM, Muhammad El-Sergani wrote: > > Could you check if /dev/null already exists? > > If yes (and it should be anyway), try to restart your crond via > > */etc/init.d/crond > > restart* > > * > > * > > I know the above may not be helpful, but doesn't hurt to give it a try. > > > > //M > > > > > > > > On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 5:45 PM, David<da...@pn...> wrote: > > > >> Dear All, > >> > >> Few days ago, I have post my problem about database corrupt, so I need > >> to build new cacti as a backup. I think the error message is pretty clear:
ERROR chdir failed (/dev/null): Not a directory
That is, cron will try to change directory to the user's home directory
before running the script, and if the user's home directory is missing or
broken, it won't run it.

Dear All, My cacti has been running almost 3 months without any issue, but today I got serious problem with MySQL database, 80% off database record was corrupted and marked as crash it so terrible. I'm already try to recover using myisamchk but can't fix it. I have about 300 hosts, 1500 graph records in my cacti and I lost them all. Below is detail of my cacti configuration: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.50GHz RAM: 4GB HDD: Sata II 500GB OS: CentOS 6 x86 64 Cacti 0.8.7g Spine 0.8.7g rrdtool 1.4.5 MySQL 5.1.58 PHP 5.3.8 Nginx 1.0.8 Net-SNMP 5.5 All of softwares in above installed and compile from source tarball. First, take yourself out of dev debug, you are not a developer. Goto low. Then post again your log. I prefer using http://hans.fugal.net/blog/2009/01/10/sensible-graphs-with-cacti/ with linux systems. The HRstorage descriptor graphs are kinda useless because VFS cache memory is not distinguished so graphs show 100% memory used all the time. The full CPU and full Memory usage graphs are superior to the default ones. The default CPU does not cover IOwait for example ( or several other kernel states) On Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 11:58 AM, Gandalf <ga...@ca...> wrote: > If your system supports hrStorageTable, then it's in there. Perhaps the problem is this: if you go to Graph Trees, select Add, and select Tree Item Type as "Host", then you get all the graphs for that device in a preset order. However, I think you could instead make a subtree for that device and then add graphs to it in any order you like. (This is a bit tedious though, and you have to remember to add new graphs as you create them) |

Hi All,
Is there any template can monitor the "Real Memory"?
mean the value after "-/+ buffers/cache:" when we type "free -m" on a Linux
machine,
$ free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1127 1119 8 0 108 634
-/+ buffers/cache: *376 * *750*
Swap: 2047 0 2047
Any suggestion will be appreciated,thanks in advance.

Folks, what's up? At my Cacti station the CPU consummation graphs are the last place. It means that I need to navigate trough a lot of pages just to show the CPU graph. So, I was wondering if is possible to bring the CPU Graphs to the first page. In other words my questions is: Can I change the order that graphs are shown ? |
