Boost is launched by the main cacti poller. I would recommend you set your cron and poller intervals the same. Also, you should move to boost 2.1 TheWitness Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry -----Original Message----- From: "Ceylan, Hasan" <Has...@do...> Date: Mon, 29 Dec 2008 15:17:04 To: <lar...@co...>; Support requests/questions about cacti<cac...@li...>; <ro...@di...> Subject: RE: [cacti-user] poller is out of sync I disabled boost from the scheduled task and I still see this out of sync error: 12/29/2008 03:10:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] WARNING: Scheduled Task is out of sync with the Poller Interval! TheWitness: This is really interesting. I think I am running boost version 2.0 D:\cacti\plugins\boost>php poller_boost.php -v Boost RRD Updater Process Control Version 2.0, Copyright 2005-2008 - Larry Adams Should I disable this entry from my scheduled task "C:\PHP\php-win.exe d:\cacti\plugins\boost\poller_boost.php -f -d"? How would boost run if I disable it from the scheduled task? Thanks for your help. -----Original Message----- From: lar...@co... I have one minute poller and cron interval is set to 5 minutes. I sometimes get this error on the cacti.log: "12/29/2008 12:40:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] WARNING: Scheduled Task is out of sync with the Poller Interval! The Poller Interval is '60' seconds, with a maximum of a '300' second Scheduled Task, but 600 seconds have passed since the last poll!" When I get this error, I have gaps on my graphs. what do you think is wrong? |

Is anybody working with rrdtool 1.2.27.0? How stable is this? I downloaded the this and the package includes a file called "DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf". Do I have to rename this and add this to my path in "RRDTool Default Font Path" in path section of the setting? |

Subject: [cacti-user] Cacti and graphing LVS services
Folks,
A question I posted on the lvs-users list that may be more appropriate
here:
I'm using an SNMP module to expose details of my LVS load balancers so I
can graph connections per second and bytes per section via Cacti. Most
of our services work by firewall marks rather than specific VIPs and I
was able to teach Cacti to deal with that pretty well.
However, problems come in when a service/fwmark is retired. Cacti is
set to reindex on reboot so I ran
/usr/bin/php /usr/share/cacti/cli/poller_reindex_hosts.php -id=3
/usr/bin/php /usr/share/cacti/cli/poller_reindex_hosts.php -id=2
as the cacti user so that each data source would use the corrected snmp
index. That part seemed to work, but the process also appeared to alter
the paths to each RRDs and data sourcing began recording/displaying data
via the RRD from fwmark-1.
Well...that was ungood. What do I need to do to reindex when services
are removed thus changing the snmp indexes without damaging the RRD data?

I am trying to move devices from old version of cacti to the brand new
cacti installed server running cacti version 0.8.7a. When I try to
migrate a device (netscaler) that has 256 datasources, I keep getting
error message "SNMP time out error". I keep increasing the snmp-timeout
to 10000, it still is not working. I still get the error. When I
manually walk the mibs from command line, I get result immediately.
I don't see this problem on the old cacti server (version 0.8.6j). Snmp
timeout value for the same device is 3000ms.
Can anybody tell me what is the problem here? Both of these cacti
servers are on the same network, one is linux (the working one) the
other not working is Windows.

The pure SNMP way is indeed copying the generic SNMP template 5 times and associate them in the graph template. If this does not fit your needs, the script way of doing things is recommended.
