Hi, I tried checking out the CVS of FFMPEG from SourceForge, and it says that it has moved. I tried using the new SVN checkout there, and AVView refuses to compile against it, and I can't find a copy of FFMPEG 0.4.8 that I can compile. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks, William |

hi, I merged the ati and r128 parts from the ati.2-driver from gatos with cur= rent git from x.org. The radeon part is already erged as with xorg.7.0 It is fully functional, you can show tv with avview, tested with a AiW 12= 8 pro with 32 mb ram. In addition with the km-driver capture is possible, too. With this patch the driver needs the i2c and detect_theatre module. The only problem is that it crashes if dri is enabled and a opengl-progra= m ist started, I'll try to fix this. But this occoured with the ati.2 driver, too. So the complete ati.2 driver is merged to xorg :-) Thanks, Michael Fritscher |

Hi Warren, since I was the one adding support for RT200 in the X.org I got this question many times. I paste below the answer: the sound problem resuts from a lack of documentation from ATI because the route of the sound is speciffic for each type of ATI card. The sound works on my AIW9600 PRO because I did some reverse engineering visually and with a scope but on your card the sound routing may be different. I only own the above specified card and it is practically impossible to solve this problem in a general manner. I'll try again querying ATI for this information. Regards, Bogdan --- Warren Sypteras <sl...@ch...> wrote: > > > Folks; > > If I remember correctly (back a year ago) there was > a problem with > getting audio using avview and the AIW 9600 XT. > > I'm currently running avview-0.80.3-5mdk.i586.rpm > on Mandriva 2007 > RC2. Folks; If I remember correctly (back a year ago) there was a problem with getting audio using avview and the AIW 9600 XT. I'm currently running avview-0.80.3-5mdk.i586.rpm on Mandriva 2007 RC2. Has the problem been fixed? The video works perfectly but I can't read lips. Thanks Warren |

| Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2006 02:00:03 -0400 (EDT) | From: D. Hugh Redelmeier <hu...@mi...> | That fixed it! Well, the picture is shifted a bit, but that probably | just requires tweeking of settings (a quite different problem). I recently got back to this project (a MythTV box). When booting, both my monitor and my TV set displayed things as expected: - BIOS startup stuff - Grub stuff, including splash screen - fbdev(?) display of Fedora's boot process. But when X came up, the monitor's display was distorted: the left part of the picture was on the right, and vice versa, with a bit of a mess in the middle. If I removed Option "TVOutput" "NTSC" from the xorg.conf, then the TV output was messed up but the monitor was OK. Not a big problem, so I'm ignoring it for now. For one thing, the monitor in question is a 14" and 10 years old -- not necessarily a good test of anything. The specs do list 800x600@60 being supported. http://www.princetondigitalusa.com/download/datasheet/ULTRA40.pdf ================ Anyway, there was a more interesting problem. Myth worked fine until I tried to show a recorded program or a live broadcast. It would then lock the machine up hard: no response to pings, no shutdown when the power button was pressed for less than 4 seconds, no nothing. Pining for the fjords. This problem existed with or without option TVOutput. So I don't think that it is due to the TVO module. It turned out that I had option "Xinerama" in the ServerLayout section. (I didn't define two screens). When I removed this, no more lockups. I'm not sure what it was about showing a live or recorded program that caused the lockup. Note that my tuner card is a Hauppauge PVR-250 so in each case, MPEG-2 needed to be decoded to run the display, so maybe some of that decoding was being done on the card, and that might have provoked the problem. ================ The picture on the TV is shifted a bit to the right. There is an unused portion of the screen on the left. What is the best way to fix this? ================ As I look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log, a few hours after a reboot and after playing with MythTV for a bit, I see the following messages for about a thousand lines: (**) RADEON(0): RADEONSaveScreen(2) What does that mean? ================ Here is the xorg.conf that I'm currently using. I have the Xorg.0.log, but it seems too long to email to the list. ================ xorg.conf ================ # Xorg configuration created by system-config-display Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "single head configuration" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" #@# Option "xinerama" EndSection Section "Files" # RgbPath is the location of the RGB database. Hi,
I have managed to make my Ati Radeon 7500 work on Fedora Core 5 using
Gatos tv_output, and I can see the display on TV (along with the
monitor). And, alignment is correct on the monitor.
However, on TV, the screen is shifted a bit to the right (about 5%)
and I cannot see the right-most part of the screen?
Can you please tell how I can fix this?
Thanks.
