Hello, I've forgotten to tell, that there is an other message: "no multimedia table present, disabling Rage Theatre" from module "theater_detekt". Is that the problem? Best regards Andreas Simon |

Hello, first I've to say my English isn't perfect. I've downloaded the TV_out patch for Xorg. I' ve got it compiled and installed. The X-Server is working again. But I've got trouble with the TV-out. I've got an Acer Laptop with an ATI Radeon Mobility M7 LW (AGP). The modul "theater_out" is loaded. An "Embedded Rage Theater" is detected. There is some kind of signal at TV-out ( SVideo, PAL ). But on the TV the picture is bad. It seems to be not synchronised. Do you have any idea? Thanks and best regards Andreas Simon |

Trying to get Spence in on this but ... I did an upgrade from Mandrake 10.1 (with working tv viewing) to Mandriva 2005 (aka Mandrake 10.2 ) and in the process fixed a number of problems but broke the tv part. It does not seem that there is a newer ati2 rpm and the files are still in place from the previous set but they are not loaded. Any hints? Somethign tells me that the problem is a newer version of X.org and or newer kernel (what does dkms do??) Robert L Martin oh btw i need to use the gatos drivers since radeon 7500s are not supported by ati drivers |

Hi Rune, Just a note to say thanks for the patch to XOrg it works very well.... my linux PVR may yet be born! I've attached a gentoo ebuild which you may wish to feature on your site. The ebuild features a reinstatement of the gatos use flag which when enabled automatically patches the xorg cvs sources with your patch. I have submitted this patch to the bugzilla system and it may make it into portage in the fullnes of time. bugzilla 93710 Thanks again! Regards Chris Bull |

Hello, I'm thinking about building a media box with my ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 connected with my TV. Can the TV-tuner (or video capture) *and* the TV-out work together with Gatos driver ? Thanks in advance, Thomas. |

It should say PutImage PutVideo - the latter is what allows TV signal.
I guess this means that the tuner stuff is not hooked up yet.. Too bad.

Thanks for this pointer. Using CVS is new for me, but I found a very helpful web page at http://xorg.freedesktop.org/wiki/CvsPage. Hi, I am trying to do audio and video capture with AVview and am having some trouble getting it to capture the audio. My source is a laserdisc player with digital PCM output for the audio. I have SPDIF input all set up and working well on my computer with a C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6 sound card integrated on my mother board. However, AVview does not play well with this and does not seem to recognize the existance of device 2 on the card (which is the SPDIF capture device). Instead, it only captures static from device 0 (the standard ADC). Otherwise, I can hear the fanfare and audio and all that great stuff from my speakers. I just can't capture it into a file. Is there something in alsa.c or alsa.scp that can be altered to make AVview capture from SPDIF? Or do I need to change something in modules.conf? Thanks! -bert -- Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. -Hanlon's Razor |

I haven't seen any reports of tv_output working in multi-monitor setups. It haven't even been tested with LCD-monitors, the only confirmed cases are TV-out and Primary CRT + clone TV. Try setting X to only use your LCD and the TV-out, something like this: Options "Layout" "AUTO NONE" And make sure fbmerged isn't used. Rune Petersen |

[Reposting in order to stay under the maximum size limit] Hi, I am trying to get TV-out to work with my RV350 based card (Mobility Radeon 9600 M10), but no luck. I applied xorg_CVS-20050420-tv_output.patch.gz to a recent x.org CVS tree. The code compiles fine, and the log shows that it is loading the theater_out module. However, if I try to activate TV-out by switching to 800x600 resolution, or starting X with only 800x600 configured, I just get a flashing white vertical line on a black screen and X breaks. I'm not sure if the X server dies or not, but my keyboard stops working and the only thing I can do is reboot. I attach my config file and log. Any ideas? Thanks, Lorenzo |

Hi, I am trying to get TV-out to work with my RV350 based card (Mobility Radeon 9600 M10), but no luck.

The mach64 code has been merged there, however, I have not had the opportunity to test it. best Vladimir Dergachev > > Thanks- > John > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by Oracle Space Sweepstakes > Want to be the first software developer in space? > Enter now for the Oracle Space Sweepstakes! > http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=7393&alloc_id=16281&op=click > _______________________________________________ > Gatos-devel mailing list > Gat...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/gatos-devel > |

Incidentally it looks like "atitool" is taken too: http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ Please, I would really really like to see this code, especially if it will work with a non-primary video card. -- greg |

I have two mach64 cards with tv-out that I had pretty much given up on getting working. If there's anyone else out there working on these please, I'll test your code out on these cards and can help debug things. For reference, I previously had the retinalburn code working and it activated the tv-out but the colours were messed up. It seemed like some kind of colour space confusion. I've tried atitvout as well but it never detects the cards. I suspect this is because neither is the primary video card in the machine. Does that make sense? -- greg |

What software should I use to get tv-out work if I use Xorg compiled from cvs, kernel 2.6.10 and AIW Radeon 7200 ? After using avview happily for some time on a 2.4 kernel machine with XFree86 4.3, I'm now trying to upgrade to a 2.6 kernel system with X.org 6.8. I have a classic All-in-Wonder with a Mach 64, 4 MB. I tried installing the binaries for X.org 6.7 that I found on the Gatos download page, but got errors indicating I have no XVideo service. Then I looked into the ati.2 tarball and found no ati_drv.o and atimisc_drv.o modules which my AIW needs. Are these drivers available somewhere? Thanks- John |
