You can try to move the image with tvo_set, it will likely not work. the driver lacks any real support for moving the Image... it should be pretty close. Rune Petersen |

Hi All, I am just writing to confirm the successful use of the TVOut feature on a Radeon 9100 card with DRI Framebuffer Splash and Software Suspend 2 This has required some code modification to prevent lockups on resume, and switching VT etc.. (code taken from the DRI driver) At the moment it is really hacky, but I hope to produce a clean patch soon. Any feedback would be appreciated. --=20 Craig Shelley EMail: cr...@mi... As I understand it, The GATOS project doesn't provide enough of the V4L API to use the All in wonder Series for use as a PVR (MythTV). Is this entirely true? If so, are there plans to implement the spec fully? If not, what are the hurdles? Thanks, Jason |

Ladies and Gents, I'd love to know whether or not there is source available for this project? I've searched the sourceforge site.. but to no avail. It is my intention to try and manipulate some code into an Apple OS X Video Driver Kernel Extension to get my Radeon Mobility 7500C working properly. Any help is appreciated! Steven Hoefel |

I need to ask, what are the correct Avview parameters for recording DV AVI? I was able to record a segment as MPEG-4 HQ, but I did not change any other parameters in the Avview configuration, and then the resulting recorded file was not usable by any app I have that normally uses such files. Perhaps I need to change the Capture parameters such as Deinterlace method, from double-interpolaete, and Frame skipping from one half, etc etc. Don't know. Anybody know what is correct here, for DV AVI recording with Avview? -- per...@sb... |

I can capture fine to MPEG1 HQ, but when I changed the Encoder setings to MPEG-4 VHQ, and then tried to "Record" -- first the message came up about the 1 gb AVI file limit, and then when I said "OK", the program just disappeared completely. Do I need to change some other settings or what? -- per...@sb... |

Audio can be a little tricky:
* do not forget that there is more than one chip that controls audio
* there is usually and audio mixer on the AIW card itself
(use arrows while pointing in the TV window to adjust it)
* and there is usually a mixer in the sound card itself.
* some sound cards have a way of reconfiguring what their
inputs/outputs are - this especially applies to onboard sound.
So in one setting the 4 audio jacks can be 5.1 channel out and
in other setting there could be 2 stereo out, line in and mic in.

Okay I managed to get Avview Recording Correctly and I am very pleased at its performance. It obviously isnt without its problems but it will work for my needs. Now if I can just get the audio to switch to the tuner I will be good to go. i'm running xorg 6.8.2 Xserver from slamd64
but it does not detect my aiw9800 card
as far as i remember gatos driver should be
merged with xorg 6.8.2, right?
so i have a few question:
1. is radeon 9800 not yet supported? should I try cvs?
2. is this still the right place to post or should I try
some xorg list?
3. if there anybody who can/is willing to make a short
status report for newer card?
thanx guys
regards
nebok

First of all, is capture button greyed out ? If so, you did not link
ffmpeg library and you need to recompile AVview.
If not, open AVview setup window and adjust capture parameters. I
recommend mpeg2 video, mpeg1 sound, "double-interpolate".
Put in filename and press capture..
This is how it worked last time I used it, unfortunately, I cannot test it
at the moment (I am travelling and have only my notebook with me).

Okay both of these worked, so I am assuming that it is in fact working, however I have absolutely no idea how to use the avview capture feature. Is there documentation somewhere on this subject?? What application are you trying to use ?
You need to start AVview so that picture is displayed and then you can do
something like "cat /dev/video0" to test capture. If this works, try
AVview snapshot feature - if that works, try AVview capture feature.
