Hallo! Thank You for the reply! Actually, the config.h does not depend on the 2.4/2.6 kernel issue, but on the 2.6.18+ version number. That header seems to have been substituted by the autoconf.h header. There has been done some work on it (http://osdir.com/ml/video.gatos.devel/2006-12/msg00009.html) - in that thread I found a modified km module I succeded to compile. As there is no prepackaged AVview for Debian, I have to compile it myself. I have some problems there, the compiler is missing some headers I still have to find out the package they are part of: xv.c:24:34: error: X11/extensions/Xvlib.h: No such file or directory xv.c: In function ‘xv_numadaptors’: xv.c:39: error: ‘XvAdaptorInfo’ undeclared (first use in this function) xv.c:39: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once xv.c:39: error: for each function it appears in.) xv.c:39: error: ‘xvi’ undeclared (first use in this function) Another point in compiling AVview is whether I have configured ffmpeg correctly. So I tried to install a AVview from rpmseek manually. The application starts and hangs with 100% CPU usage. After loading the km-drivers, I run xawtv where it quits with following error: This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.21-2-686) xinerama 0: 1600x1200+0+0 can't open /dev/video0: No data available v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway v4l2: open /dev/video0: No data available v4l2: open /dev/video0: No data available v4l: open /dev/video0: No data available no video grabber device available In syslog appear the following entries: Oct 7 12:10:08 client16 kernel: Linux video capture interface: v2.00 Oct 7 12:10:11 client16 kernel: Kmultimedia API module version alpha-6.0 loaded Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: Kmultimedia module version alpha-6.0 loaded Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: Page size is 4096 sizeof(bm_list_descriptor)=16 sizeof(KM_STRUCT)=748 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: km: probing 0000:01:00.0 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: km: using irq 11 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: Register aperture is 0xd0100000 0x00010000 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: kms variables: reg_aperture=0xf8de0000 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: km: DMA_GUI_STATUS=0x00000002 entries=2 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: sizeof(kmfl_template)=780 sizeof(KM_FIELD)=52 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: Device 0000:01:00.0 (0x1002:0x4c58) corresponds to /dev/video0 Oct 7 12:10:14 client16 kernel: kms variables: reg_aperture=f8de0000 Oct 7 12:10:20 client16 kernel: Processing "VIDEO_STREAM_ACTIVE"="1" int_value=1 Oct 7 12:10:20 client16 kernel: Purging transfer queue Oct 7 12:10:20 client16 kernel: WARNING !
