Folks; If I remember correctly (back a year ago) there was a problem with getting audio using avview and the AIW 9600 XT. I'm currently running avview-0.80.3-5mdk.i586.rpm on Mandriva 2007 RC2. Has the problem been fixed? The video works perfectly but I can't read lips. Thanks Warren |

I'm trying to compile km, version 0.6.1, on Debian Etch, which is using kernel 2.6.17. I get the following error: make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-2-686/build M=/usr/src/km modules make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.17-2-686/build: No such file or directory. Stop. make: *** [all] Error 2 I previously installed the linux-source-2.6.17 package, but it didn't create any "build" directory under lib/modules. Can someone tell me, what do I need to install or do in order to get km to compile? - per...@sb... |

I seem to be having a problem with tearing halfway down the screen with my r200 and homemade VGA(RGB+CSync)->SCART cable. I use a custom 1024x576@50Hz interlaced modeline. This shows up in both DRI and Xv output (although most obvious with DRI) when synced to vertical refresh. Has anybody else seen this? I'll take a look at the code if nobody else knows anything; I am busy with other projects though... I'm using Gentoo: xf86-video-ati-6.6.2 and xorg-server-1.1.1-r1 Steve ___________________________________________________________ Try the all-new Yahoo! Mail. Folks; Just loaded Mandriva 2007 RC2 and X crashes. The error is "Can not load microcode" I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 9600 Radeon PCI Bus model. The card is detected as ATI Radeon (flgrx). Xorg log report V7.1.1 Running XFdarke and changing the type of Radeon doesn't change the error. Anyone know how to fix this? |

Hi there, I'm trying to implement overscanning in the the radeon TV-output module located at http://megahurts.dk/rune/tv_output.html, but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding some of the things the driver is doing. The driver seems to be using a lot of unexplained magic numbers (for example, what do the values in the horizontal and vertical timing tables actually mean, and what do the scaler control registers do?) Is there some documentation somewhere that I'm missing? Regards, - Dwayne -- Dwayne C. Litzenberger <dl...@dl...> |

Hi there, i gave ubuntu dapper a try getting my AIW 8500DV TV to work. I can watch TV, but it looks fuzzy and the picture has stripes. I'm sitting in germany and choosed pal-tuner as my xv port encoding. I don't know how to make a screenshot showing the TV, ksnapshot shows only a grey area. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, regards, Tobias Knieper |

Hi Christopher, Firstly the tv_output patch will most likely not work for Radeon r300+ cards. The driver does something weird. even though you disable EDID, the listed modelines is from your monitor. And even though the modelines doesn't parse the constraints they are not rejected. Tis problem is more a general driver problem than a tv_output one. Rune Petersen Christopher X. I've just installed the patched ATI driver on my Thinkpad A30p running
Fedora 5 (claims to have a Mobility M6), and it almost works. The TV image
seems to be at the wrong sync rate, even though I've put in the lines:
HorizSync 30.0 - 40.0
VertRefresh 60.0 - 60.0
And in "Device"
Option "TVOutput" "NTSC"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
If I'm reading the log output right, I think it may have the wrong
HorizSync, it look slike it might be trying to use 75.0khz desping the above
lines:
(**) RADEON(0): *Mode "800x600": 162.0 MHz (scaled from 0.0 MHz), 75.0 kHz,
60.0 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Modeline "800x600" 162.00 800 1656 1848 2160 600 1200
1203 1250
I've put up the full conf/log files at:
http://www.westnet.com/~chris/ATI-tv/xorg.conf
http://www.westnet.com/~chris/ATI-tv/Xorg.0.log
And this is on a plain-old US television set.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
-Chris
