-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 This patch might be worth including, it resets the fifo and writes twice. I should cure some lockups on R3xx based cards. Not much of an improvement, but reduced lockups should be a good thing. Hi, Good news, all people who touched the Gatos TV-Out Code in the past agreed= =20 with relicensing the code under a MIT-license. http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeonTV Now, current status is: r200-support seems to work for most people, no=20 r300-support at all. Next steps would be: =2D Adapt the latest patch (attached to the gentoo bug) to the current git-= code =2D Change all GPL-Information to MIT, add others that worked on it to the= =20 copyright-info. I'll try to do that in the next days (some rejects on radeon_driver.c at th= e=20 moment). But if others want to step in first, feel free. After that, some of the core ati/radeon-devs should take a look at the code= =20 and give some comment on it. And maybe some day we can merge it and have at= =20 least for some cards basic tv out support. =2D-=20 Hanno B=C3=B6ck Blog: http://www.hboeck.de/ GPG: 3DBD3B20 Jabber: ha...@hb... |

As for my apparent absence; It will continue at least for a while longer. I don't have much energy these days and trying to keep up/work on the driver just makes me aggravated. for those who don't realize it: reverse engineering tv-out drivers is very exhausting because of the very infrequent successes. | From: TJ <sys...@ea...> | I am writing to ask what the status is of tv output using X.org 7 and | GATOS drivers. The most recent activity I've seen was by Rune Petersen. He last posted to this list in late January. Earlier he mentioned that he was going to be having an operation. I can only hope that he has recovered and is well. I use his patch on older versions of X. I don't think that it works on current ones. I may have gotten it from here: http://megahurts.dk/rune/tv_output.html It would be great if this patch could be moved forward. Rune claimed that it was a hack that could never be accepted upstream. That too is unfortunate. |

Hi! I must say to the developers, thank you very much for working on this project! I would also like to say that the website is woefully out of date, and extremely confusing! :( It seems that most links are broken, a lot of info is out of date, and there is little useful documentation. I am writing to ask what the status is of tv output using X.org 7 and GATOS drivers. I see that ATI.2 drivers are now included in X.org 7, but there is no mention of whether the TV out drivers are included or not. If not, where is the link to the source for a tv output driver? If only a patch is available, where are they, and where is the source that it patches? On the website (http://gatos.sourceforge.net/theater_out.php), it says "Theater_out is included into ati.2 driver when the tv_output branch is selected in the CVS repository." The link is broken, but I did find the CVS on sourceforge. There seems to be no option to select a tv_output branch, though. :( Thank you very much! TJ Harrell |

Do you absolutely have to be able to address 1920*1080 pixels individually, or would writing to a lower-resolution image and using the video overlay hardware to scale it up be sufficient? Hi dear friends, I am meeting a challenge in my new project, we need to realtime display 1920*1080@120Hz using X1950 card. I am trying to use SDL, but I could not get 15 frames/secs. Do you have any good idea or reference? How can I achieve this? Thanks a lot, Victor Zhang _________________________________________________________________ 享用世界上最大的电子邮件系统― MSN Hotmail。 http://www.hotmail.com |

Hi, after spending almost a whole day, this list is my last hope to get tv out working properly. I successfully applied this http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127642 patch. TV out is working if I set the MonitorLayout to Option "MonitorLayout" "NONE,AUTO" but then laptop monitor has no signal. When I remove the MonitorLayout line, there's no TV out anymore, but now picture on laptop monitor (this of course is not remarkable). Here is my xorg.conf and corresponding log file: https://helpdesk.bera.rus.uni-stuttgart.de/~rusguggi/serv/doc/xorg.conf.3 https://helpdesk.bera.rus.uni-stuttgart.de/~rusguggi/serv/doc/Xorg.0.log.3 In Xorg.0.log I always have this line: 580:(WW) RADEON(0): Failed to detect secondary monitor, MergedFB/Clone mode disabled Any idea? Thanks in advance, Matthias Guggenmos |

I can't install avview:
I am on etch
I have compiled the last ffmpeg-checkout"
I have applied the patch
avview-ffmpeg-preliminary-crashing-0.4.9.patch
and
./configure --with-alsa --with-ffmpeg=/home/david/compile/ffmpeg-checkout-2007-07-05
Strange double message:
"Movie recording disabled
to enable specify --with-ffmpeg=/path/to/compiled/ffmpeg/source
Movie recording enabled
Path to compiled ffmeg source /home/david/compile/ffmpeg-checkout-2007-07-05
Binaries will be installed in ${exec_prefix}/bin
Script files will be installed in ${datarootdir}/AVview"
but when I do make I have the following error:
