You missed something.... you forgot to add: Option "TVOutput" "PAL" (or "NTSC", etc.) to your conf-file, without it the tv-out module will not load. Interesting, I never saw that in my previous google efforts. No matter.

Same here, I compiled my own AVview (0.80.7) to see if it was any better
since the debian package is very old (0.12.0) and also orphaned, and I
also omitted ffmpeg support since I don't need it (yet) anyway.
In fact I had to remove Tcl 8.3 since the configure script seemed to get
confused by its presence and told me 8.4 wasn't on the system (which it
was).
I notice another odd effect of the new version is that is shows up
(without a border) on all the other desktops if you are running multiple
desktops - with some transparency so I presume it's a feature not a bug.
Other than that however, the new program is no better that the old one
at resolving tuning and/or sound problems.
I also tried atitv from the debian gatos package, but I'm guessing it's
also pretty prehistoric, and certainly finds no cards.

Exactly the same behaviour here. I'm also using debian, PAL, Sapphire AIW 9000. I believe the sound still does not work for Radeon 9000, it never did. O. |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Folks, I've been awaiting the arrival of XOrg 6.9 on my favourite distribution (debian) for a while, hoping the finally get TV in working on my system. I first of all discovered which microcode file I had to copy and to where, here it is for anyone frantically googling this information (I copied it straight from my old windows partition). cp /mnt/windows/ATI/SUPPORT/wxp-w2k-catalyst-7-91-030625a-010027c-efg/WDM/WDM_XP/ativmc20.cod /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/multimedia/rt2_pmem.bin Now I have some small progress, I see the microcode loaded successfully, I am on a PAL tuner BTW. When I run the debian packaged avview I got static, I blew the dust off my windows partition to ensure the cable connection was OK, and to my surprise when I rebooted I had a picture - it was the last channel that had been tuned on windows. This remained the case no matter what channel I selected from the program. I also had no sound, but it looks though I might have expected that from the gatos-announce list since the RT200 theatre support seems to have some problems that way. I've since recompiled the latest AVVIEW with ALSA support, and I can't find any channel to unmute (or mute) to get the TV sound working. Any ideas on how I might proceed to get sound and/or tuning working on PAL (UK), I can't remember which subsystem that is. CT. PS. I also get some pretty nasty near horizontal lines appearing in windows and on the desktop when AVView is running. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEANcY0SwfPjLnaZYRAmy7AJ4trOHtK9BVGVKGP05CHCuC3Bq0xQCdHv2k bjTrFoTPfnAX2spjDkO4KaY= =5QdX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Tcl/Tk

- radically flexible
- radically powerful
Announcing the 13th Annual Tcl/Tk Conference
October 9-13, 2006
Naperville, Illinois USA
Learn from the experts, share your experience - the annual Tcl/Tk
conference is your opportunity to engage with the Tcl/Tk core team and
your fellow peers.
The conference program will include:
* Presentations and tutorials
* The (Active)State of Tcl talk by Tcl/Tk release manager Jeff Hobbs
* Birds of a Feather (BOF) sessions
* Invited key-note talks
* Discussion forums with the Tcl/Tk core team
Call For Papers
You are invited and indeed encouraged to submit proposals for
presentations and tutorials. The conference schedule will consist of two
days of tutorials (Monday - Tuesday) and 3 days for the main
conference (Wednesday - Friday).
The conference provides you an opportunity to report on original
research and applications of Tcl/Tk and related technology. The
audience will consist of practitioners and researchers who are
intermediate or experienced users of Tcl/Tk. For this reason, reports
on experiences and applications should draw out lessons for other
Tcl/Tk developers.
Topics will include, but are not limited to:
* Application of Tcl/Tk in industries as diverse as engineering,
industrial controls, broadcasting, financial services,
medical and electronic design
* Networking with Tcl/Tk, including distributed applications and network
management
* New widgets and techniques for GUI design with Tk
* Simulation and application steering with Tcl/Tk
* Tcl/Tk on handheld and embedded devices
* New Tcl extensions and add-ons, including Tcllib and Tklib
* Tcl/Tk centric operating environments
Submission Guidelines
If you are interested in submitting a paper you should send an
abstract of about 100 words and a summary of maximum two pages. Omit
extraneous or redundant information. Length is not a direct factor in
judging the quality of the submission.
If submitting a tutorial proposal you should send an outline of the
tutorial and a brief biography, and clearly indicate whether the
tutorial is of half-day or full-day duration.
Send submissions as plain text to <tc...@tc...> no later than May
31, 2006.
The primary author for each accepted paper will receive registration
to the Technical Sessions portion of the conference at a reduced rate.
The program committee will review and evaluate papers according to
the following criteria:
* Quantity and quality of novel content
* Relevance and interest to the Tcl/Tk community
* Suitability of content for presentation at the conference
Proposals may report on commercial or non-commercial systems, but
those with only blatant marketing content will not be accepted.
Application and experience papers need to strike a balance between
background on the application domain and the relevance of Tcl/Tk to
the application. Application and experience papers should clearly
explain how the application or experience illustrates a novel use of
Tcl/Tk, and what lessons the Tcl/Tk community can derive from the
application or experience to apply to their own development efforts.
Papers accompanied by non-disclosure agreement forms will be returned
to the author(s) unread. All submissions are held in the highest
confidentiality prior to publication in the Proceedings, both as a
matter of policy and in accord with the U. S. Copyright Act of 1976.
Registration Information
More information on the conference will be available in Spring 2006 at
the conference web site (http://www.tcl.tk/community/tcl2006/) and
published on various Tcl/Tk related information channels.
To keep in touch with conference announcements and Tcl events in
general, subscribe to the tcl-announce list at:

Hi Andrzej, I assume you have Mesa3d CVS for building your xorg, then thses steps will do the trick, at the top of mesa cvs source: 1. edit config/linux-dri, leave the DRI_DIRS to radeon only 2. make linux-dri 3. put lib/radeon_dri.so to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/, create the dir if there is none (assuming you have installed your xorg7 over the top of /usr/X11R6 4. put lib/* to /usr/X11R6/ 5. export these settings to the system: export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose things should not go not far from here, try out glxgears see what will happen Will On Tue, 21 Feb 2006 23:33:55 +0100 Andrzej Nikitorowicz <an...@ko...> wrote: > > I have a question about 3D, is this normal for Radeon 7500: > > # craches, and the following is displayed in the
terminal:

Hi all, I have patched the tvout patch for xorg 6.9 for the xorg 7.0 cvs onward. Here is the link: http://shell.world-net.co.nz/~knightw/xorg7/xorg7_CVS-20060218-tv_output.patch.gz The majority changes over the 6.9 patches are: 1. Makefile.am for new modular system 2. XORG_VERSION instead of XF86_VERSION in theater_out_module.c 3. pass the info->VIP to xf86_detectTheaterOut as an extra arugment in radeon_driver.c, which resolves the unsolved problem. originally this patch is used on the ``xf86-video-ati'' package from the modular xorg 7.0cvs, and it is only tested for Mobile Radeon 7500 on my ASUS notebook, but I do believe this should work fine for others as well. Things havent been done: Imakefile -> Makefile for tvo_set.c however, you can compile it with a single command line: gcc tvo_set.c -I/where_your_xorg_is_installed/include/ -L/where_your_xorg_is_installed/lib/ -lXv -o tvo_set Best Reagards, Wei-Tsun Sun |

Hi. I have an asus pundit-r, a barebone that ships a radeon 9100igp chipset. I've compiled x.org 6.9 with the gatos patch. It compiled flawlessly and the tv-out works... more or less. It is out of sync, but it works without any other screen attached. Here is the relevant part of the config file: Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" HorizSync 28-78 VertRefresh 60 EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Standard VGA" VendorName "Unknown" BoardName "Unknown" Driver "vga" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "ATI Graphics Adapter" Driver "ati" # ### generic DRI settings ### # === disable PnP Monitor === #Option "NoDDC" # === disable/enable XAA/DRI === Option "no_accel" "no" Option "no_dri" "no" # === misc DRI settings === Option "mtrr" "off" # disable DRI mtrr mapper, driver has its own code for mtrr # ### FireGL DDX driver module specific settings ### # === Screen Management === Option "DesktopSetup" "0x00000000" Option "MonitorLayout" "STV, AUTO" Option "IgnoreEDID" "off" Option "HSync2" "unspecified" Option "VRefresh2" "unspecified" Option "ScreenOverlap" "0" # === TV-out Management === Option "NoTV" "no" Option "TVStandard" "PAL-B" Option "TVHSizeAdj" "0" Option "TVVSizeAdj" "0" Option "TVHPosAdj" "0" Option "TVVPosAdj" "0" Option "TVHStartAdj" "0" Option "TVColorAdj" "0" Option "GammaCorrectionI" "0x00000000" Option "GammaCorrectionII" "0x00000000" : # === OpenGL specific profiles/settings === Option "Capabilities" "0x00000800" # === Video Overlay for the Xv extension === Option "VideoOverlay" "on" # === OpenGL Overlay === # Note: When OpenGL Overlay is enabled, Video Overlay # will be disabled automatically Option "OpenGLOverlay" "off" # === Center Mode (Laptops only) === Option "CenterMode" "off" # === Pseudo Color Visuals (8-bit visuals) === Option "PseudoColorVisuals" "off" # === QBS Management === Option "Stereo" "off" Option "StereoSyncEnable" "1" # === FSAA Management === Option "FSAAEnable" "no" Option "FSAAScale" "1" Option "FSAADisableGamma" "no" Option "FSAACustomizeMSPos" "no" Option "FSAAMSPosX0" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosY0" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosX1" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosY1" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosX2" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosY2" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosX3" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosY3" "0.000000" Option "FSAAMSPosX4" "0.000000" : # === Misc Options === Option "UseFastTLS" "0" Option "BlockSignalsOnLock" "on" Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "yes" Option "ForceGenericCPU" "no" # BusID "PCI:1:0:0" # no device found at config time Screen 0 EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "ATI Graphics Adapter" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 #Option "backingstore" Subsection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "800x600" "640x480" ViewPort 0 0 # initial origin if mode is smaller than desktop # Virtual 1280 1024 EndSubsection EndSection This is the same config file that works with the ati propietary drivers. I haven't found any message related to this hardware in the archives. If I can be of any help with this, please let me know. I can apply any patch that you ask me for. Alberto |
