FFO

I fully finished Friendship Warms the Heart and I think it turned out really good.  My corners look so much better than normal after watching a Helen D tutorial.

Now I just need to get it wrapped, packaged up and in the mail to Sue.  I am sending it to her cousin, Laura, just to be safe 'cause Sue has a PO Box and doesn't pick up her mail every day.  I sure hope she likes it.

Finish number 3

I finished another small this afternoon.  Not a big fan of this one but it will look cute in a spring bowl.

Designer:  The Primitive Hare - Design:  Spring Celebration - Ostara - Fabric:  16CT PTP Fresco - Floss:  DMC & SSS - Dragonfruit - 1st Stitch:  01/05/2022 - Last Stitch:  01/17/2022 - For:  Me

Now I am going to start Plum Street Samplers Fraktur Friends and work on that until February 1st when I will start my next Christmas ornament.  I need to kit both of these up and will pull thread and floss for the Plum Street as soon as I finish this post.  I need to find a bigger design to stitch instead of all these smalls.  I will soon run out of bowl space although since Just Cross Stitch closed last March I don't know where to take my pieces for framing.

A Stitching Finish

This is fresh off the hoops about an hour ago.  This will be a 75th birthday present for Sue.  I just have to finish it into something.

Designer:  Jennifer J. Redmond
Design:  Friendship Warms the Heart
Fabric:  16CT Touch of Grey
Floss:  DMC
1st Stitch:  12/29/2021 - Last Stitch:  01/15/2022
For:  Susan
Notes:  this design was from the Feb. 2022 Just Cross Stitch magazine.  It called for 24 or 25 colors of floss.  I have no idea why they called for Aida fabric as there were lots and lots of quarter stitches.  I would love to stitch this for me. but I would have to try stitching it on an evenweave.  I don't think I will ever stitch it for me.

I'll post a picture when I FFO it. Hopefully sometime this week 'cause her birthday is on February 4th.

New Year start and finish

First -    HAPPY NEW YEAR

I have decided to start a Christmas ornament on the 1st of every month.  That way at the end of the year I will have 12 ornaments stitched and hopefully 7 FFO'd.    I need 6 ornaments for Christmas presents every year so that would put me 6 ahead at the end of the year.  I would like to have a couple years worth of ornaments finished in case I get sick or for some reason can't stitch for a while.

Here is my first stitched ornament for 2022.

Designer:  The Frosted Pumpkin
Design:  Not a Creature in Sight
Fabric:  18CT Platinum
Floss:  DMC
1st Stitch:  01/01/2022 - Last Stitch:  01/03/2022
For:  Christmas present for one of the Greats
Notes:  From Just Cross Stitch 2016 Ornament Issue

I have already stitched several ornaments for presents for 2022 so I am ahead of the game.

I am currently stitching a design from the February 2022 issue of Just Cross Stitch called Friendship Warms the Heart designed by Jennifer J. Redmond.  This is going to be a birthday present for Sue if I can get it stitched and finished before the end of January.  It has about 25 colors in it and lots of quarter stitches and backstitching.  It was designed to be stitched on Aida and I want to know who designs a chart for Aida with so many quarter stitched.  It is so hard to stitch quarter stitches on Aida and that is all I stitch on.  I am plugging away but it is frustrating.
