STITCHING WITH IRIS

Here are the current pictures of my WIPs. 1st is Lizzie Kate 2009 Halloween Boo Club. I have made some progress on it. I am now more then half finished. Next to that is the P38 for DH. Not a good picture and not much progress on it. The 3rd WIP is Lizzie Kate Just Married which I am stitching for my Great Nephew who is getting married in August 2010.

I am home from work sick today. I think I have a mild case of flu. Yesterday I was so sick, cold, hot, achey and that is how I felt this morning when I woke up. I started taking some tylenol and am starting to feel a little better this afternoon.

I probably won't be posting my WIP progress next week as my sisters and I leave for OC, NJ next Sunday. I feel guilty about going and spending money when Bob won't be getting another pay until the budget is passed here in PA. But I had saved most of the money for the motel room over the last couple of months and I have some spending money saved also. I asked B if he wanted me not to go but he told me to go. He just wants some time here at home alone. I know how he thinks.

Well I am going to go rest for a little while until it is time to get dinner. I am going to make the pork chops I intended to make for dinner last night but didn't feel like cooking so we ordered out.

WWII P38. I did a lot of frogging on this airplane this past week and then I didn't feel like stitching anymore of it. I think I will put it aside for this week and work on Just Married. Maybe I will feel like getting back to it in a few days.

I got into work on Friday morning and decided I didn't feel like working so I took the afternoon off. After I did the grocery shopping and another errand I have been putting off I came home and sat out on the back porch and read my book for a couple of hours. I haven't told Bob I did this. I just needed a few hours of me time and didn't want anyone in the family knowing about it. Am I bad?

I think things may get a little tough here in the next couple of weeks. Bob works for the Commonwealth of PA and they haven't passed their new budget yet. Starting this coming Friday he will get a partial paycheck and then there will be no paycheck until the budget is passed unless they come up with a stop-gap measure. I was reading an article by the Governor on the Internet this morning and then some comments by the citizens of PA. They seem to think that all state workers should take a 25% pay cut and have their benefits cut as well. I wonder how they would like having their pay cut by 25%. My poor DH is so overworked he doesn't know which end is up. There has been a hiring freeze in his department for over a year so as people leave there has been no replacements. I wonder how the citizens of PA would feel if they knew that because the job can't be done the way it should be there are probably lots of people receiving welfare that shouldn't be because the state workers just don't have the staff to do an efficient job. OK I will get off my soap box now.

I am cooking stuffed zucchini for dinner tonight. Adam, one of the techs at work, gave me 2 nice sized zucchinis from his garden the other day. Bob didn't plant any zucchini in his garden this year. I can't figure out why but he didn't.

I was bad the other day and ordered a couple of things from 123Stitch. I ordered Little House of Needleworks Sunflower Inn and Brittercup Designs A Snowman's Wish. I shouldn't have but I did. Yesterday I took Wine and a Lizzie Kate Thanksgiving to Just Cross Stitch to have them framed. She told me she started framing my Catia Dias Patchwork Sampler on Thursday. I have money set aside for that so I can't wait to be able to pick it up.
