PS 1993 Yearly Santa

I stitched his cutie in 2015.  In June of this year I sent him to  Vonna Pfeiffer, The Twisted
Stitcher, to have him finished into a pillow.  He turned out so darn cute.
Thank you Vonna for your talent and the beautiful finishing.

I have a few more of these yearly Santa's stitched and many more to stitch.
I think Vonna is getting them all to finish.  I'll be sending the next one
to her tomorrow.

Map of New York by Sue Hillis

I finished the stitching on this last night.  It seemed like I had been working or it forever and I was really surprised when I realized it was only a few days over a month.  I hope no one else asks me to stitch one of these maps.  I just can't do another one.

I will be taking this baby to the framer on Wednesday when I go for my monthly stitching group.

Now I am going to start finishing my Christmas ornaments.  My sewing machine is back from its annual maintenance and all ready to go.

Christmas Ornament Finish

This little design was a Christmas card I received from Leslie @KYKrossStitchers.  I like to take these cross stitch cards and make them into ornaments.

The fabric the ornament is lying on is the backing for the ornament.

I have 2 more designs I received as Christmas cards I am going to make into little pillows that I can display in a basket somewhere in the house.  I have one started but can't finish it until I take my sewing machine in for its yearly service.  Hopefully that will be one day this week and then I should have it back in about a week.

Can't believe that July is half over already.  Where oh where does the time go.

Susan had her surgery to remove cancerous lumps from both breasts a week ago today.  They also removed lymph nodes on both sides and gave her massive radiation on both breasts.  The operation took 9 hours.  She goes back to the doctor tomorrow to get the results of the pathology tests on the lymph nodes.  I hope that there isn't any cancer cells there but if there is she will be going through chemo and I don't want her to have to endure that.

Bob and I have been helping Shirley start to get rid of things at her house.  The house is on the market and she has had two couples look at it.  One couple came back for the second time on Saturday.  Yesterday Bob and I went to a local antique mall type thing and spoke to a vendor regarding a barber chair that is in her basement.  I went to her house took some pictures and texted them to him.  He came right to the house and found a bunch of other things that were barber related that he is going to take along with the barber chair.  She won't get a lot of money for them but at least they won't be thrown in the trash.  Things are going really slow as she doesn't seem to have any enthusiasm for doing this daunting task.  We have gone through all of her holiday decorations and gotten rid of a lot of stuff there.  But there is lots and lots more to do.  She told me she has a trunk upstairs that is full of stuff and hasn't been opened in 20+ years,  I don't think she needs anything in that trunk.  lol

I am currently stitching on two projects - John Hancock by LHN and Map of New York by Sue Hillis.  Not much left to do on New York but it is slow stitching when I only stitch for a short time each day.

Hollyhocks, Asters and Fushia

I just can't believe how everything in our back yard is so lush this year.  I love sitting out on the back porch and enjoy all the beautiful flowers.  The vegetable garden looks like a jungle with lots of zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and basil.  Can't wait for bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches with our home grown tomatoes.  YUMMMMMM

Blueladie Designs - June Doodle

This was a quick little stitch that Cathryn of Blueladie Designs included in her June Newsletter.  These little designs are in her newsletter monthly and are a fun stitch.  I tried a new finishing technique with this one and I really like how it turned out.  I have a few little tweaks I would like to do if I ever finish this way again.

I am now stitching Map of New York by Sue Hillis and LHN Patriotic Series John Hancock.  Slow going on both of them since I only stitch for 1 - 1 1/2 hours in the evening while watching TV.  There has been some improvement in my pointer finger of the left hand.
