A Small Project...

...but with BIG impact! :-)

This was another project I sewed while at retreat.  There is no pattern. I just made it up as I went along. LOL

I wanted to test out my Crafter's Edge Half size Half Square Triangles and Odd size Quarter Square Triangles to see if I could make accurate Flying Geese~ and yes I can! :-)

It worked like a charm! I made 1½" x 3" finished Flying Geese and put them together with a few other pieces of fabric left over from this project.  Then I machine embroidered a dragonfly to each side before sewing the pouch together.

(The dragonfly was in my machine.)

I just love how it turned out!   And it will go with my 'On the Go' bag perfectly. :-)

I would call it a win-win!

What are you working on this week?

I have  few things I need to finish and then I will be back!

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!

Home Again!

Home again! Jiggety jig! :-)

I generally will not tell you when I am gone, but you will hear about my adventures when I get home. :-)

We packed my friend's SUV~

And headed off for a little fun!

There are 2 sewing machines, 1 embroidery machine + embroidery unit, 2 Sew Ezi tables, snacks, toiletries, bolts of interfacing, 2 laptops, and more projects than I can count!  And we had room to spare! LOL

We always do a group project and this time we made Hobo Bags!~

I did not get individual photos of each bag, sorry.

There was too much excitement! :-)

We used Alice Pineapple Packs, which had 5 Bonus Quarters, from Pineapple Fabrics.

Everyone enjoyed the project and I think all the bags turned out great! I am already using mine~ it brought home the projects I finished at the retreat. :-)

And I did finish 2 quilt tops!

Pix of those will come when the patterns are released. ;-)

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!!

Hey Gnomie!

Hi!  I hope you are having a fabulous day!

This week is just flying for me~ yesterday I did not make it here for Wordless Wednesday, but it would have had to been titled 'Weird Wednesday'!

We had thunderstorms in the AM! That is such a rarity for us that hubby and I usually have to look at each other and ask 'was that thunder?' There was no doubt yesterday. LOL Luckily we did not get the lightning and power outages others got as the storm passed us before it built.

Do you like gnomes?

I know some do and some don't and I was on the fence until I made these placemats and table runner!

Aren't they just fun?!

The designs are from Designs by Juju~

And guess what?~ they are on sale!! I love a good sale!

What are you working on this week?

I have a 2nd tree skirt going on my embroidery machine and I am cutting out a back pack I hope to put together next week. That is all for today~ have a great rest of your week!

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!!

Wordless Wednesday...late

 Hi & welcome back!!

In my last Wordless Wednesday I showed my Slice Box from Pineapple Fabrics.

I made the 'On the Go' tote from the pattern and BQs in the box. :-)

Such a fun and easy sew out!

I make a few changes~

the pattern is for a reversible bag, and since I knew I wouldn't reverse it, I used foam for the outside and SF 101 on the lining. I also changed the strap a little bit~ I am not of fan of turning long straps right side out, so I folded and pressed. ;-)

Well, this wasn't really wordless, but then, it is no longer Wednesday! LOL :-)

Have  fabulous rest of your week!

What are you working on?

Until next time~

Happy stitchin'!

Machine Embroidery~

Do you have an embroidery machine?  Do you love it? :-)

I do & I do!!!

I had the extreme pleasure of making a sample of the newly released North Pole Village Tree Skirt from Designs By Juju and let me just say~

It was fun!!!!

Choosing the background fabric, choosing applique fabrics & threads.. all the things I love about machine embroidery!

This was done in a 6 x 10 inch hoop~ 45 hoopings.

It measures approx 45"

I used a dark blue fabric with gold specks on it and glitter gold thread for the stars.

I did keep track of the time each tile scene took, but I haven't added it up yet. ;-) I was not behind my machine constantly as you can tell from my past blog posts~ I was also piecing and quilting. ;-)

I so enjoyed this project~ I already have a 2nd one started. ;-)

If you machine embroider and would like to make one too, the files come in 3 sizes and the design is on sale now. ;-) ;-)

Until next time~

Happy stitchin'!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
