I just kept pressing and cutting and I have a lot of the quilt cut out now. :-) This is going to be my monthly Thimbleberries project and I am in love with it! Thank you for stopping in to visit today! And for telling me I'm not the only one who hasn't made a Log Cabin quilt. :-) Want to make one along with me? :-)
And the guy in brown stopped by today! :-) I recently won a little giveaway of CW scraps from Faithful Quilter; Elaine~ and she even sent the scrap container and some extra FQ's! Thank you Elaine! These pieces will be perfect for paper-piecing some of my DJ blocks!! :-)
Have a great evening~
Until next time :-)

More Thimbleberries Sew Day~
Ok, so I kind of hinted about what I was up to yesterday. :-) I've never made a Log Cabin quilt~ I know! Crazy! I'm probably the only quilter I know who hasn't ever made one! :-o but I love them! ~ so my friend and I decided to make one together 'long distance'. We swapped fat quarters for our quilts last year. :-o We thought we had a pattern picked out, but then I changed my mind and sent her a link to a new 'the one'. And pretty soon, 'the one' became a bit of a joke between us as we'd discover new patterns and neither of us started. Then I happened to order Spice of Life Quilts by Carrie Nelson. When I ordered it, I didn't even realize there was a Log Cabin pattern in it~ and there are two! I sent my friend an email and told her I finally found 'the one' and wasn't changing my mind again. lol This is going to be my Thimbleberries Sew Day quilt. I am using some of my Thimbleberries stash along with the FQ's we swapped and any other scraps I cut up. Mine is going to be pretty scrappy. :-) And notice the Triangulations papers? There are HST's for the center of every log block, I pulled out my Triangulations to make them because I just couldn't see myself sewing squares and trimming them all up~ yup, I'm a little lazy that way. ;-)
**My disclaimer is in the previous post. It also applies to Triangulations and Brenda Henning. ** :-/ I've decided I am not writing disclaimers anymore~ it takes some of the fun out of sharing for me and for Pete's sake, if anyone thinks I'm rubbing shoulders with any designers (I wish!), all they need to do ask! Seriously! :-)
I hope you are working on a fun little (or big) project today! I'll be back with a progress cutting photo soon~ :-)
Happy stitchin'!

It's Wednesday.. the last day of March... and that means~
It's Thimbleberries Sew Day! :-)
Sorry I got a little later start than I anticipated, but I'm rolling now!~ with my rotary cutter that is. ;-) I'll be back with pics shortly~~ :-)
**I feel like I need to add a disclaimer after all the hoopla in blogland. :-/ I am in no way affiliated with Lynette Jensen or her company. I have never met her! Barb and I started Thimbleberries Sew Days because we both love Thimbleberries fabrics and patterns, but we receive no compensation from anyone for doing them. Just the fun of 'sewing together' long distance. Please join us! Our 'rules' are pretty lax, just work on something using either Thimbleberries fabrics or your own stash fabrics and a Thimbleberries pattern.. and have fun! Let us know you are sewing with us, and we'll stop by! **

Tuesday~
I'm still making kits. :-) I love cutting up kits and I'm working on one from this book. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow because it is Thimbleberries Sew Day! :-)
I recently picked up this new magazine and I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed. I was caught by the title~ I have a few charm packs and jelly rolls without a designated purpose and thought 'oh boy! this magazine is for me!'. Not so fast.... Yes it has lovely patterns, great photography and color options... but....
I've seen many of the projects before~ either in Quilts and More or American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. :-( Not all of them, but enough of them. The fine print above the quilting logo says 'favorites from the the editors of...'. Ooops, I guess I should've paid closer attention. That being said, it did remind of a project I had planned to make from one of the other magazines, so that was a good thing! lol
Until tomorrow~

Where Did March Go?
Can you believe it is nearly gone? :-o I'd like to add a couple more weeks to it. ;-) Sorry I've been lazy about blogging lately~ not for lack of having tried! We had 2 consecutive weeks of Spring Break. First DS was home for a week, and then DD. I didn't get much sewing done. I did do a lot of cooking and baking! ;-) The kids were both exhausted from finals week and it was good to have them here and get them healthy for the final push. They are both looking for summer jobs, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them. Tuition just seems to keep going up! :-(
I spent the weekend cutting. Time for a new blade in my rotary cutter! ;-) First I cut out this lap quilt for DD. I had some Joel Dewberry FQ's and I added a few to them to have enough for this pattern from Anka's Treasures Livin' Large booklet. I'm going to make the cover quilt. I just love the scrapbooking totes for keeping my projects organized. I'm planning to take this one along to retreat in April.
Then I cut out another flannel/denim raggy quilt. I give these as graduation gifts to guys. This must be about the 10th or 11th I've made. They turn out nice for picnic quilts, car quilts, etc. My Mom made one for my youngest DS and he uses on his bed at school. He says its very warm. ;-)
I also laid out the blocks for my Christmas Piece and Goodwill quilt. I am 2 blocks short to make the quilt as it was in Quiltmaker magazine, but I plan to make it big enough for my bed. So I'm cutting more greens. I like to use these little pieces for leaders/enders on other projects.
I've also been sewing on more swap blocks, but I can't show you those until I get them mailed off. ;-)
Just a reminder~ Wednesday is Thimbleberries Sew Day this month. Please join us in either sewing a project with Thimbleberries fabrics, or using a Thimbleberries pattern and your own fabrics. Let me know if you plan to sew and I'll drop in for a visit! ;-)
Until next time~

March Le Petite project~
The pattern for the March Le Petite project is Endless Summer by Heartspun Quilts. It is very cute, and made with charm packs. As much as I love the pattern, I knew I really don't need another wall hanging, but I do need some little table runners for our hall table. :-) Especially for the different seasons. When I heard the pattern name, I just couldn't get my brain past 'summer'. lol So my first little table runner is 'Endless Summer'. :-) I made it with some FQ's I had that were looking for a project.
Hope you had a great St Patrick's Day and didn't get pinched! ;-)
Now I am off to work on a few almost done projects and then start something new! :-) Whoohoo! I like new!
Until next time~

Lots of Stitchin'~
But little I can show! :-( Sorry!
Gosh, has it really been 10 days since I last posted!? Time is just moving too fast lately! I have been making string blocks for a swap I'm in~ this is a sampling of what I mailed out on Monday. We are sending 3 blocks to each swapper. I'm really enjoying the stress-free sewing.
I also finished the March Birdie Stitches BOM from Little Miss Shabby. Being part Irish, I had to add in some shamrocks. ;-)
For the past few evenings I have been un-sewing some quilting I did on table toppers last year. I wasn't all that pleased with the quilting, and want to give them another shot. I'm happy to say I finished 'froggin' last night. (rip-it, rip-it) ;-)
I also need to post some goals for March and April for the Charming Girls~
I'm going to continue to keep things simple and fun, so my real goals will be to finish up the Le Petite projects each month, and work on BOM's. I also hope to do a little quilting and purse making.... we'll see how that goes. :-)
I hope to be back sooner next time!

A Little Sewing, A Little Mail~
I think I told you before that I'm in a String Block Swap. We send 3 blocks to each other. I received these lovelies so far. My theme is patriotic and I can't wait til they are all here and I can play! :-) I've been keeping busy sewing the blocks I'm mailing out~ but I can't show you because I want the person receiving them to see them first. I'll try to remember to take a photo before they go though. ;-)
And a while back I was lucky enough to win Gina's giveaway for these animal prints~ they arrived! And I was so surprised! There are a lot more here than she showed in her giveaway! And they are all wonderful! My DS's will be happy to have some pillows from these. :-) Thanks Gina!
That's all for today~
Thanks for stopping by and until next time~
