Project Pouch Finished!

It didn't take long at all to get my Pineapple Fabrics Project Pouch sewn once I got the quilting finished.

And my DGD was happy to be my model. Things got a little silly. LOL

She loves the Very Hungry Caterpillar book~

And when her Nena hides a 'caterpillar' (aka gummy worm) inside

she can't hide her surprise! LOL

I love that the Velcro is not scratchy!

The link will take you to Pineapple Fabrics notions page where they sell the Velcro. Both sides are the same soft strip, but it clings to close very nicely. I am planning to buy more for all the things I make for the grandkiddoes!

The clear vinyl pocket is the perfect size for a book or a pattern!

I really think this could make a fun library bag~ maybe keep their reading list in the outside pocket and their books inside. Plus you wouldn't have to hunt the house for books if they always put them in their pouches.

It will also make a great pouch for taking projects to retreats! I think I need to make up a couple for keeping projects in when we are off with the motorhome. ;-)

What would you use it for?

Thank you Pineapple Fabrics for sending this fun project for me to make!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my steps and maybe learning a new trick?

Until next time~

Happy sewin'!!

Project Pouch Part 2

 Good morning!

Today I want to talk about sewing up my Pineapple Fabrics Project Pouch

(see previous post for more info ;-) )

My pack arrived and I was so itchin' to get started that I took the photo of the fabrics upside down! LOL

But you still get the idea. The FQs were rolled up and the pattern I chose was included.

The first thing I did was quilt my exterior pieces to some fusible fleece.

I could not for the life of me find my Hera marker, so what is the next best thing?

A table knife! :-)

I used the back of the blade to mark a line and then used that little metal angle thingy that comes with your sewing machine (you know what I mean, right?) to repeat the lines.  I just love the look and texture of crosshatch quilting! And wouldn't you know, that sneaky little Hera marker showed up when I was finished! :-)

I am off to put my Project Pouch together.

Have a great day and until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!!

PS if you are lucky enough to live near Pineapple Fabrics in NC, they are having their warehouse sale now. And if you are not that lucky, like me, they are also having an online sale. ;-)

Pineapple Fabrics Fun!

 Hi there!

First, thank you so much for all you comments on my previous posts! I think I replied to all your comments, but if I didn't or you were a no reply blogger, please know I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit with me!

I mentioned I would be back to tell you a little more about my Ambassadorship with Pineapple Fabrics.

 Pineapple Fabrics

I first discovered them when they came to a Sewing & Stitching Expo here in western WA. Let me tell you...it was love at first sight!!  They have a very unique system called 'Pineapple Packs' where you choose a fabric pack (and the choices are numerous and wonderful!) and then choose a pattern to go with the pack.  The patterns range from aprons and small bags to table runners/toppers and quilts. Just about anything you can think of has a pattern!

Once you have chosen your pack and pattern, you will find additional notes on the extra things you might need to finish your project. Examples would be fleece, backing fabric, batting, Velcro etc. If you don't already have these 'extras' in your stash, you can order them right from Pineapple Fabrics to arrive with your pack and pattern. :-)

For my first project I chose an Alice pack of The Very Hungry Caterpillar FQs and the 'Project Pouch' pattern.

(all photos from Pineapple Fabrics website/ used with permission)

I thought it would be a really fun little library bag for my DGD. ;-)

I will be back soon to show you my project. :-)

In the meantime~

go check out the Pineapple Fabrics website. It is loaded with fun projects!!

Happy Friday!

Hi there!

If you are new here and just visiting from the Time In A Bottle Blog Hop~

Welcome!! I hope you have a little time to look around, and come back! :-)

First, thank you Carol @JustLetMeQuilt  for organizing this hop. Have you seen all the gorgeous projects?!  Choosing a favorite would certainly be hard! I want to make them all!!

For my project I jumped ahead a few months.

I had embroidered this design intending to make a wall hanging, but wall space is limited at my house, and I couldn't decide what would have to come down, so I made it into a table topper.  I will have it either in the center of our kitchen table, or maybe on the island, during July and will totally enjoy seeing it every day. :-)

The machine embroidery design is from Designs By Juju

There is no pattern as I just flew by the seat of my pants. :-)

Be sure to visit the rest of the bloggers today for the last day of the hop

and thank you for stopping by!!!
