Look at this top!

My Mom made it for me. Candlewicking blocks, floating borders, my favorite colors! What more could a girl ask for? :-)

The other half...

...Is now finished! It is 'Sweden' from Carol Doak's Mariner Compass Stars book. I think I'm starting to like paper-piecing. ;-)

I am off to my sewing room. My DH calls it my "padded room". :-) ~could it be because fabric lines the walls? LOL I hope to get it more organized and find a little more storage soon, but until then I'm happy in my 'padded room'.! :-))

Happy sewing!

Still sewing....

...and sewing, and sewing! I love it!

I received this wallhanging kit as a Christmas gift. Just got the top together so far. ;-) I'm thinking about machine quilting in the ditch and hand quilting an eagle in the center.

I'm also continuing to work on my blocks, BOM's, and other fun things.

Previously...

...I showed half of a paper-pieced block. Were you wondering what happened to the other half? :-) I'm doing a BOM through a local LQS that uses Susan Garman's Chain pattern. We will do a different chain each month. I am going to paper-piece state blocks from Carol Doak's 50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars book as my alternate blocks. The stars will have significance to our family. I'm so glad I only need to do one a month as some of the patterns are really intricate! Here is a photo of January's block and my coordinating star. Now I need to get to work on February's! ;-)

Sewing fun!

I just love to hear the hum of my sewing machine. It relaxes me. ;) I've been working on a bunch of things. A little of this, switch to a little of that! LOL I sure don't get bored! Today I was working on some mini 9-patch blocks for another swap I've joined. These measure just 3.5 inches unfinished. Aren't they cute?!

I'm also still working on some star paper-pieced blocks. Here's the half I have done. Maybe tomorrow I will finish the other half. ;)

Happy sewing!

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
