Thimbleberries Sew Day! Finished!

...or maybe not. ;-) All the blocks I've made are together and it measures 56 x 74. I plan to add 4 inch borders so it will be approx. 64 x 82... I'm thinking about adding one more row of blocks along the side so it will be 70 inches wide with borders.... I have time to think about it. ;-)If you are new to my blog, I have been working on this top the past few months using only my Thimbleberries scraps. The pattern is Bonnie Hunter's Bricks and Stepping Stones. It is one of those quilts I always wanted to make 'someday'~ I'm so happy that someday arrived!! :-) Thanks Bonnie for the great pattern!

Did you get to sew today? It was a beautiful sunny day here and hard to sit at my machine, but I am so happy I did! :-))

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

Thimbleberries Sew Day!!

Are you sewing?? :-)

I was out all morning~ a lot of errands in as short amount of time as possible. LOL :-)
Now I am ready to pull out~~
...and see how much I can get together before rolling it up again.
I hope you found something to work on too!! :-)

More later~~~
Happy stitchin'!!

Design Wall Monday and Other Stuff~

LOL that is one long title! :-)

On my floor I mean design wall today, we have my Between Charming Friends Quilt Along top. It is still in need of borders, but I am happy to have the top together! ;-) Darlene of Quilting Daze, is the pattern designer. I used an Odyssea jelly roll and a light gray solid. The light gray was Mandy's idea and I love it! You can see more design walls and great projects at Judy L's.
And speaking of Mandy of That's Sew Mandy~ she is celebrating her one year blogiversary with a great giveaway. I'd love to win it, but if I don't~ maybe you will. ;-) Stop on by and congratulate her! :-)

Just a reminder~ Wednesday is our Thimbleberries Sew Day. Join us! You don't have to use Thimbleberries fabric, but if you have some~ go ahead. As long as either your pattern or your fabric is Thimbleberries, you are good to go. I happen to have a small stashy of T-berrie fabric and a quilt top that needs work, so that's what I'll be doing. Let me know if you are sewing too and I'll stop by! :-)

Until Wednesday~
Happy stitchin'!

I Love Red Too!

Maybe its my second favorite color. ;-) LOL

I joined in the Spring Fever Bingo fun that The Quilt Shoppe's blog~ In Stitches sponsored and while I was terrible at choosing words~ I even wondered if I was playing from the same list!~ ;-) LOL I was a lucky daily winner! This bundle of fun came in the mail this week~ I love red! :-)) Now I'm dreaming about what to use them in!~ so many patterns to choose from! ;-) Thank you Quilt Shoppe!!And I've been stitching~

The Old Glory pattern is from Crabapple Hill Studio. Instead of a pillow, I put it on the towel. I left off the beading parts because I didn't think they worked for the towel. ;-)

The redwork apples tea towel is June's First Friday Freebie from Kaaren of The Painted Quilt. I did mine with perle cotton. :-)

Next I've got some bunnies to embroider. ;-)

Until next time~

What's Your Favorite Color?

It seems like a pretty straightforward question right? But it is a very difficult one for me to answer! And I'm happy to see some of you had the same problem! :-) LOL Is it a 'quilter thing'? :-) You are probably wondering why I asked~ well, Barb asked me that question last week and I really waffled before answering! I thought of sky blue, and robin's eggs, sunrise.. and sunsets! The clear colors of spring, the greens, golds and reds of the holidays, the cranberries and wheat and oranges & plums of autumn and I was stumped. :-/ So I stretched it and told her 'autumn'. :-) LOL And yesterday the mailman brought me a little surprise~

A bunch of tumbler blocks from Barb! Thank you! And look~ they are autumn! Muted pinks, and cranberries, browns and tans and golds... :-) They are going to make a wonderful little quilt for me. :-) And when I use it this fall/winter, I will think of my friend Barb. :-) How cool is that?!

And you gave me an idea by telling me your favorite colors. I didn't realize so many of you loved pink! You surprised me! I am going to have to do some shopping before my next giveaway, but hopefully I'll find what I'm looking for sometime in my travels this summer. It is going to be a busy, crazy busy! summer but a little 'shopping therapy' will happen too. ;-)

Until next time~

Quilt Along Progress~

I got to work on my Between Charming Friends Quilt Along blocks a bit today. I'm cutting up the strips for the 16 patches and have a pile of 4 patches ready for borders. My outside border fabric arrived today, so hopefully I can work more in the AM. :-) I know, I'm a little behind, but I am slowly making progress. ;-) I'm making the larger size, lap quilt, using an Odyssea jelly roll. ;-)

BTW~ what is your favorite color? I'll tell you why I'm asking tomorrow. ;-)

Until next time~

Design Wall Monday~

Thank you for your comments on my new look! I am always a little leary about changing templates etc~ afraid I'll end up deleting my whole blog! :-o LOL Since it worked so well this time, maybe I won't wait as long again. ;-) I had a question about the quilts in the header photo~ They are all quilts I have made. The first one is a Debbie Caffrey design that she did as a mystery in the now-no-longer-published Traditional Quiltworks magazine. My Mom and I made this one together long distance, trading FQ's before we started. Next is my Vintage Sheet quilt~ I don't have the binding sewed all the way down yet, but you can't tell in the photo. LOL :-) Then we have Butterfly Blooms. I made this one with my quilt guild when we lived in TX. The pattern is from the Cozy Quilts co. And Finally my red/white quilt. The Monkey Wrench blocks came from a swap I did with my friends on HGTV; the design I did in EQ6. I'm really happy with how it turned out. :-)

Not a whole lot of sewing going on here, but I did manage to sneak in a few Dear Jane blocks. I am working on a kite, and then I should be all caught up again. Angela, is choosing the blocks each week, and I am trying to keep up! :-)) From left to right we have~ E-12 Mary Ruth's Corset, D-1 Alison's Guiding Light, C-13 Lakota Sioux, and G-4 Shutter Bug. I do love some of the names Jane gave these blocks! LOL ;-)

To see more wonderful, inspiring design walls, head over to Judy L's Patchwork Times.

Have a happy first day of summer!
And until next time~

Time For A Change~

As much as I loved the brown background, I'm ready for a little change. :-) I'm still too much of a chicken to get in there and make changes myself, so this is one of blogger's new templates. ;-)

Not much sewing is going on here!

Hope you have a great day and celebrate all the Father's in your life, whether it is your own Dad, Gran-Dad, your hubby, your son or son-in-law, or a special role model. I am going to be busy in the kitchen and later today we'll grill and relax. :-)

Happy Father's Day to all!

Fun Mail!~

Jane had a very fun giveaway celebrating her 400th post and her DD's soon-to-be wedding. ~ go to her blog and scroll back a few days to see the wonderful quilt she made and hand quilted for the occasion! It is fantastic!! :-)

I was lucky enough to win Day 2 :-) and today the mailman brought these 7 lovely Civil War FQ's! Thank you Jane!! They are going to mix perfectly in my Dear Jane quilt~ very appropriate, wouldn't you say?? :-))

Hope y'all are having a happy day!
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!

Hooray for the Red, White & Blue!

Quilt Hollow is having a great giveaway and you could win this lovely wall hanging in time for July 4th! Isn't it gorgeous? I love the stars! I think it would look great in my house. :-)) Hop over to Mary's and leave your comment,~ tell her I sent you! ;-) And Good Luck!!

Sewing Along~

Could you hear my machine today? Of course you couldn't~ that was a trick question! :-) My machine is very quiet. ;-) But it was working away!~ I finished up my June Schnibbles, State Fair~ I did change the pattern to make it into a table runner, and then I changed the border too. LOL Guess I felt like shaking things up this month! :-))
Now to find some quilting time! ;-)
And while the machine was all warmed up~ I got caught up on the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along. :-) It feels good to be getting caught up! ;-)
Next up, I am going to work on my Charming G&G's Quilt Along project.
So many projects!~ Sew little time!! LOL :-)

Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

State Fair Sewing~

Whoops! I did it again! :-o I hit 'enter' and it posted before I got anything written. :-/ Sorry!

I'm not sewing for the state fair, I'm sewing on 'State Fair'. LOL The June Schnibble pattern. I had a couple charm packs from Connecting Threads and thought I'd use them. The only problem is that their packs are much smaller than other packs~ only 24 charms in this pack. So I'm thinking about making a table runner~ Sew Cindy made a gorgeous one! Mine will be much smaller. ;-)

I hope you find some time to sew today too!
Until next time~

Have You Seen....

...the new EQ blog badges? This one tickles me!~ and no, I had absolutely nothing to do with it! ;-) You can see them all ~Here~

Hope you had a great day!
I got the binding sewn around the biggie~ whoohoo!

Have a good night!

Happy Flag Day!

Long may She wave!

My thoughts today are with our many troops stationed all over the globe, who defend and protect the many freedoms we enjoy.
*no, my flag does not touch the rail, although from this angle it certainly looks like it does! :-o
Today is also Judy L's Design Wall Monday~ mine is blank! :-o I have this to keep me busy though~ yards and yards of binding for my vintage sheet quilt. It's going to take a week to get this one done! LOL :-)

If you wish to be inspired by the many wonderful projects in blogland, go look at the links on Judy's blog. :-)
Hope you are finding some time to stitch today too!
Until next time~
Have a happy day!

Thank You Friends!

Barb's giveaway is over for me... and to be honest, I'm glad. It was stressful! I know Barb didn't intend that and I did enjoy trying to write a poem and playing along at first. This morning I woke up to find out a lot of stuff was going on that wasn't in the spirit of the giveaway and I tried to not feel like public enemy #1 but it was hard.

My friends on the message board I frequent, my Mom, my friends in blogland, my relatives who all pitched in to find votes for me were so awesome! I feel very blessed. I am very blessed! :-) And that is the best feeling in all the world! Thank you all from the very bottom of my heart!! I'll get a GO someday and when I do, it will remind me of my many friends. And that's what this is all supposed to be about, isn't it? :-))

I also want to thank Mandy~ a new blog reader to me who gave me the best idea for my Odyssea jelly roll! Thank you Mandy! I went and dug around in my stash and came up with this light gray~ you are so right! It will work wonderfully with Odyssea. :-) Hopefully next week I can get down to some serious sewing! :-))

I hope y'all are having a great weekend!
Until next time,
Happy Stitchin'! ;-)

Sewing and Stress!

Wow! Barb's poll for the GO has really stressed me! :-o I'm ahead, I'm behind, ahead again, behind again! I'm almost afraid to check it!! LOL Thank you all for your help and votes!! :-) Although I don't do facebook, a few of my friends have taken up the challenge and have been posting for votes for me, and my Mom emailed her quilt group to vote! LOL Thanks ladies!! I really appreciate all the support! I'm still keeping my fingers-crossed, but it is really stress-producing! :-o

So to keep myself busy today, hubby took me out for lunch. :-) And then I came home and sewed. I made this bag from a purchased pattern (Simplicity?) It really isn't quite this bright! ;-)I wanted a bag big enough to hold my camera and a bottle of water for my trip to Sisters, Oregon next month for the Outdoor Quilt Show (I'll be there with a group of friends on a bus trip). I think it is going to work just fine~ I tested it with the can of spray starch. LOLThen I started searching stash for something to use for the Between Charming Friends Quilt Along. I am going to use Darlene's pattern (of Quilting Daze) for the lap quilt. Thanks Darlene! :-) I decided to use my Odyssea Jelly Roll I won in a giveaway a few months back. But what to use for background? What do you think of this? I'm really not sure if I should use the dots or go with something more like a Kona solid.
Thank you again for all your votes! Please continue to spread the word! I would so love to win that GO cutter! The more I study the dies, the more I know I'd give it a good workout! I could bust stash left and right! No poems today, just gratitude. :-)

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!

Help Me! Help Me!

... the crazy girl cried! :-))) I can't help it! I think I'm losing weight too! :-o

I just checked the votes on Barb's blog for the GO! and it is close! :-o I still need your help though! If you've not voted, would you please consider voting for me? I would so love to have a GO cutter! I know, I'm crazy to be nail biting over this~ but eeeekkkk! :-o I've asked all my friends to vote but still need help! And if you already voted~ thank you!!!

I wish I had a GO!
I'd use it lots, I know!
I would cut & sew!
If I had a GO! :-)

The poet seems to be sticking around! LOL ;-)

I Need You! :-)

I am not doing very well in Barb's poll.
If you haven't voted yet, would you please help me out? Thank you so much! :-) You do not need to have a blog to vote.

In other news!~ I rented the APQS Millennium for the last time on Monday. The shop owner is taking it down. :-( I am so glad I managed to sneak in one more day! I worked on my big Vintage Sheet top. It is a biggie at 96 x 112 inches! I used an allover panto of loops swirls and butterflies. Now to get the binding on~ I have a striped pink/green/white that I think will be perfect. :-)I also got my Schnibble Picnic done! I used the same panto and thread, so that helped a lot. ;-) I am afraid getting to the bindings is going to be a challenge as the days are just flying by at warp speed! Wasn't yesterday March first? ;-)

I am off to sew a few stitches~
Have a happy day! And until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

Can You Help Me Please??

I am so excited! I can't believe I am a finalist in Barb's giveaway! Pinch me! Ok, that hurt! ;-)
She is having everyone help her decide who should win~ please leave her a comment for me. ;-) And vote in her little sidebar poll (in the top left hand corner of her blog). Pretty please?? :-)

I don't do Facebook or Twitter or Tweet~
But winning a GO would be so neat!

But a poem? A poet? Me?
That's very unlike-ly! ;-)

But I'll give it a GO!~
Think the 7 dwarfs with a little Tin Man waltzing in... LOL

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho~~
I wish I had a GO!

Accuquilt makes this really cool cutter~
It is like none other (utter?) :-)

I could sew... (and sew!.. and sew!)
If... I only had a GO!

I have tons of scraps~ big pieces and nips~
I need squares, and shapes and strips!

Cutting is boring--
...I hope you aren't snoring!!

That's the end of my ditty~
I know, its not pretty..

I wish I had a GO!
Hi-Ho! Hi-ho hi-ho hi-ho!

Thanks for the chance Barb! You make it look so fun~
I just know I could get a lot done!
Yikes! I can't stop rhyming now!
Holy Cow!
Ciao!! :-))

Catching Up... again!

It seems like I am always trying to catch up lately!~ Time is just flying! Today I got myself caught up on my Dear Jane blocks for both this week and last. I'm following Angela (see DJ link in sidebar) and although she is making 2 quilts at once(!)~ I am the one always behind!! :-o
Here we have A-6 Uncle Homer, H-13 Farm Friends, A-5 Cathie's Campfire, the LS-12 triangle~ Button Hook (which was a real bugger and I'm still not happy with it, but it is finished!) ;-) and finally, I-2 Kaye's Courtyard. Whew! Would you believe I worked all morning on that silly triangle!? The others went together quick as could be!

Hope you are having a great sewing day!
Until next time~

Happy stitchin'!

Want to Win A GO?

Thanks and good luck!

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
