It's hip to be square...

Last week I decided it was high time I did something with the horrid looking boringly white wall at work.
The paint chip art piece was peeling off the wall, so a more permanent solution came to mind.
I have paints.. all we need are some fun characters.

I started with Superman and Legolas.
Pixelated.
In fact my patterns are for cross-stitch, I just used them in a bigger scale  :D

I'm using regular glossy acrylic paints and stamps I made from cardboard, double sided tape and craft foam.  Once it gets too icky to use, I simply chuck it out and make some new.

Then came Yoda and Wonder Woman.

This photo gives you an idea of the scale. Each small square is 2,5 x 2,5cm (1 inch).

Luna Lovegood (with her radish ear rings!) and Sam the hobbit. He'll get Frodo by his side.
And I've been told the hobbits will need hair on their feet.
*grin*

I've got room for 15ish characters on that wall.
So I've got some fun times ahead!

Starry starry night..

One of my favorite things after dark is spying reflections of my Christmas star shining in my window.

..very suspicious...

 My canvas is finally ready.
Filled with acrylic paints, texture medium, pages from an old Famous Five- book (=Viisikko), a bit of glitter and lots of glaze.

I think I need another one of these canvases...

Learning something new

Entrelac knitting.
(Konttineule suomeksi)

Perfect for variegated yarn.
And I must say, way easier than I thought it would be.

Prezzies...ooohhh.. what fun!

I love making gifts for my friends.
This year's ornament gifts included tiny model railway scale people in wintry scenes.
All made into metal tart tins.

I also knitted a kitty cat scarf for my niece. The yarn gave lovely natural stripes.

I also love fun mail.
You know, real mail.
Packages in your mailbox...

A sweet Canadian friend organized a favorite things swap.
I sent out five envelopes filled with favorites (and yes, I forgot to take a pic, but as I recall there was chocolate, tea and Marimekko napkins.. I can't remember if there was something else too..)

I've received three packages so far.
(had to try that nail polish right away!)

 *so much fun*

And then I love friends who know me so very well.
Friends who know just what to bring me from a trip.
 Yes.
A lego men ice cube mold!
And coasters.
And magnets!

Same friend also gave me this.
*squeel*
I may have to knit her fifteen pairs of wool socks now :D

And lastly, I love my hubby.
I now have a radio in my studio.
A radio I have lovingly lusted after for years.
Oh is it ever pretty...
..my precioussss....
